Assassin’s Creed: Revelations must have been a nightmare for series newcomers. Not only was there the story of Ezio to contend with, but Desmond too. In fact, we’re pretty certain if you hadn’t played any of the Assassin’s Creed titles to date, you’d be utterly lost playing Revelations.
Assassin’s Creed III, though, will be more accessible, promises Ubisoft UK gaffer Rob Cooper. He told MCV:
This is a great time for gamers to join the adventure. There’s a huge will from Ubisoft to bring more gamers into this universe.
Assassin’s Creed III is the biggest and most ambitious launch in Ubisoft’s history so we absolutely believe this game will continue to grow the franchise.
Cooper continued that he’s certain the game will be able to hold its own against some of the other big releases due in October and November:
This is a huge investment for us and we’re extremely confident that together, all these factors will put us in pole position to compete against the other titles this Christmas.
Assassin’s Creed III heads to the American Revolution on 31st October.

Thats good news. I tired the second Assassins Creed awhile back and I just couldnt get into it. This one giving the American Revolution setting has piqued my interest. Its nice to see that it will be newcommer friendly since I couldnt get into the storyline of the previous games.
I agree, by the time Revelations came around, the hardcore fans of the series were "in the know" about a lot of Ezio's personality, etc. I think moving to a new chapter is perfect for the AC series' success on the market- plus it looks like hardcore fans will have some adjusting to do with buildings-to-woods.
good

Its almost like they want it to sound philanthropic.
