It’s no secret that PlayStation Vita has been having a torrid time in Japan of late, but Sony is optimistic about the platform’s fortunes heading into June.
Retailers around the country are anticipating strong sales for the upcoming Persona 4: The Golden and the Vita version of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection.
In addition to the high profile releases, Sony is also set to release the crystal white variation of the Vita hardware in Japan on 28th June.
SCEJ CEO Hiroshi Kawano said in an interview with Famitsu magazine this week that Vita’s “true fight begins now”. He said that the system’s June line-up is seeing a strong consumer reaction, and that Sony is putting a considerable promotional effort into the offering.
We’re not expecting the Vita’s fortunes to change dramatically during June, but it would be nice to see a little more enthusiasm in the device overseas.

persona is quite big in japan, there is a chance to push more vitas!!!
Wouldnt it be funny if it still failed lol!!
if it still failed drop psv to 99!!!
OMG If we got the Persona the Golden in the states, the vita would be an INSTA-BUY!
@JavierYHL Well then they would might as well pack there bags because they would lose a hell of alot money on each psvita.
@JavierYHL The Vita probably won't hit $99 for a long time.
LOL just joking, the price is just rite for me,the only problem i had is rpgs, bring on skyrim and dragon quest!!!
The MGS HD collection should do it proud. I think it's Bluepoint doing the conversions/remastering- and they're very good at it from what I've read elsewhere. Just hope they're doing Z.O.E HD Collection too. That can't come out soon enough for me . . .
