Specialist retailers such as GAME have been carrying PlayStation 4 promotions for a while, but it seems like Sony’s now starting to make a push into more mainstream stores. The word on the street is that British supermarket Tesco received its own displays for the next generation system earlier today, some of which have already been spotted out in the wild.
The stands show an illuminated DualShock 4 controller, in addition to three cubes sporting various first-party and third-party games. The titles include inFAMOUS: Second Son, Knack, Killzone: Shadow Fall, DriveClub, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and Watch Dogs. Elsewhere, the displays include the words ‘Coming Soon’, and there’s a dummy Blu-ray case that can be taken to the checkout for pre-orders.
Much like today’s Metro newspaper advertisement, this is another strong indicator that the PS4 will launch in Europe later this year. Given the sudden push in the territory, it’s going to be interesting to see whether that rumoured Champions League final commercial materialises tomorrow.

Is a champions league commercial slot comparable in price to a super bowl slot?
@Squiggle55 I'm not sure, to be honest. PlayStation is a main sponsor of the whole competition, so it may just be that they have 'PS4' logos around the stadium. No idea at this stage.
Sony's told me 'no comment' on the rumoured commercial.
@Squiggle55 Not really. It's just used by companies like Activision for a COD advert as an attempt to attract casual gamers. When an English team is involved in the final - I still remember every second of Liverpool's majestic 2005 comeback - I imagine ITV and Sky charge more for adverts but as its two German teams sadly I doubt many people will even watch the game. Which is a shame as it looks an absolute belter.
Surprisingly, nothing yet in Australia.
The advertising boards around Wembley just say "PlayStation" so if there is any PS4 shenanigans going on I imagine it'll be at half time. Forget that though for now, what a game this is!!
Moments after I wrote that a board showed "PS4 coming 2013."
Oh I hope it comes to USA this year too
Best Buy cleared a whole row of shelves for PS4 marketing to go up very soon..can't wait.
