Do you remember the SCUF 4PS – the competitive PlayStation 4 controller designed for professional players only? Well, after a particularly lengthy wait, the manufacturer has announced that the ergonomic piece of equipment will start shipping next month, with prices starting at $119.95 – and running all the way up to $149.95.
What is it that sets this peripheral apart from the standard DualShock 4, though? Aside from the fact that it's available in a variety of different colour schemes – we’re especially fond of the ‘Hulk’ – it also features paddles on the back which allow you to access buttons without taking your thumbs off the analogue sticks, as well as a magnetic control disc for enhanced d-pad accuracy.
There’s a borderline scientific promotional page through here which walks you through all of the advantages of upgrading your handset. From electro-magnetic remapping, to sturdy build quality and pro-grip handles, this doesn’t sound like your average modified controller. Alas, do you feel the need to level up? Take down your opponents in the comments section below.

With people generally complaining about the price of an official controller, I'd guess the only people interested in these will be those who are into professional competitive gaming.
Your everyday PS4 gamer isn't going to need anything like this; it's not like it's some magic device that's going to prevent your average gamer like me from sucking at online FPS!
@Tsurii897 at least take the time to understand the product before calling it stupid. I plan on getting one out. I'm not pro gamer but I'm willing to try new things
@Tsurii897 Yeah, they can be assigned to whatever buttons you want. The theory I guess being that you could map 'reload' to one of the paddles, meaning that you wouldn't need to take your thumb off the right analogue stick to hit square.
I've been waiting a while to get my hands in a scuf 4ps, it's gonna make playing all of duty 100x better!!!!!!
@get2sammyb How many paddles are there?
@Jaz007 4 paddles in the back. Click da link
Right now my wifi is a mess, so I doubt I'd notice latency improvements heh
If I wanted professional FPS performance, I would use a mouse and keyboard, not... that. Unless it's more sturdy than the stock DualShock 4, I'd call it pretty dang useless.
