Well, this is more predictable than the next X Factor winner getting dropped by Simon Cowell’s record label within two years, isn’t it? As warned by developer Bungie, a French site has deployed the world’s first review of Destiny – and it’s mixed. In the 6/10 critique, Musga.fr bemoans the first-person shooter’s lack of variety, dearth of enemy types, and dreary story, while commending its gunplay and character progression system.
The points certainly seem considered, but you should take this appraisal with a sizeable pinch of salt. As previously reported, the title’s servers only got switched on yesterday, meaning that this particular reviewer has had less than 24 hours with the final game to pen these impressions. We’ll be spending a lot longer with the title before giving you our verdict, but we encourage you to share your thoughts through here. Go on, you know you want to.

A lot of reviewers are going to make the mistake of blitzing through as fast as possible, which doesn't gel with making good judgement on something.
Destiny, especially, is a game that you need to take your time with as you explore and make your guardian more powerful. To rush through would be to go against the game's design.
"You Should Probably Ignore This First Destiny PS4 Review" You should probably take your own advice
While this may be a rushed review for clickbait purposes or what have you, I can't help but ponder why this reviewer has somewhat similar impressions of Destiny to mine (which I would fear would be the definitive outcome of playing Destiny towards the end).
Well, it does currently have a 4.9 userscore on metacritic.
In my honest opinion, I think that every game should be played thoroughly and if possible, be completed before an opinion can be taken with any credibility. It doesn't matter if you've played the beta, played half of the game or go as low as to say "this doesn't LOOK good", you need to experience it all because your opinion may change during the way. I will never ever believe in rushed reviews like the aforementioned one for a second.
I'm apprehensive about buying it, but that's only due to not liking competitive FPS multiplayer, and preferring a decent campaign. I played the beta and what's there was ok, but it was only a few levels. If I'd played the first few levels of Borderlands before making a judgement it would have been a 5/10, and that's one of my favourite games.
I think its the same with any review considering that nowadays they are just the expression of a reviewer s opinion on and on.. Just need to know more or less how the reviewer usually differ from your own opinion .. but anyway only trust your own opinion on what you may like or not reading through a review and not pay attention to 'scores'
I think a lot of scores might end up 7 rather than my expected 8 just because expectation is fairly high. Alright its not a proper RPG at all but its as close as you'll get so far on PS4 if you don't fancy Diablo. I expect it to hold my attention for a few months and then it'll just be something nice to pick up and blast about on every now and then. This game isn't going to shatter the earth.
I'm wary of anything that gets hyped endlessly...be it a game, a film a book or whatever. At best the product can't possibly meet the high expectations the hype generated and at worst all that hype and advertising covers up the fact it's a lacklustre product. I'll be holding off on touching Destiny until the dust has settled and more reviews hit so I can find the honest ones....not the over eager fanboy reviews or the intentionally harsh reactionary ones like the one mentioned in the above article. I don't get caught up in the hype machine but I've maintained an objective interest in this game....have to really, it's not a polished re-release of a PS3 game or another sequel. I always hope for good things from a new franchise.
@Gamer83 Half the user scores just seem like trolls to me even though I feel this is going to be a 7 kinda game and not live up to the ludicrous hype this industry seems to thrive on.
@Jazzer94
If I were a betting man I'd put money on them being troll reviews, although some are stupid enough to be serious. The game may be a 7 for some or may be even a six but anything und that, at least from what I've played seems a bit harsh. I won't even get started on the stupidity of the 3s and 4s and the 0s-2s are definitely troll reviews and sadly it happens for every game, no matter which company it's from, where some imbeciles give a 0 to 'balance things out.' To be fair the 10/10 reviews where it's just somebody gushing over a game is extremely ridiculous too. For example, I love TLoU but it does have flaws eventhough some don't want to admit it.
@SimonAdebisi as close as you will get on the PS4? What about FFXIV?
@thedevilsjester oh yeah, I didn't think anyone played that, my mistake
I haven't heard nothing but praises for this game. I won't listen to their negative nancy reviews. There are review sites that will automatically put a damper on a popular game if it doesn't fit their agenda or they are trying to ruin the experience on purpose for others.
A game that will live or die by its longevity and depth will not get any favourable reviews within 24 hours of release.
I described the beta to my friends as Borderlands with out the humour, it may sound negative but it was meant as a solid description, the gun play was great even to a console fps hater like myself and I saw enough to make me decide to preorder.
Looking forward to some good multi-player sessions in the storyline with friends and tinkering with the skills to see how viable build diversity in the classes will be, if this turns out to be good I think Destiny will live up to the hype and then some.
Giving Destiny a 6/10 is just silly. The site in question is just embarrassing themselves. Not saying the game is perfect or beyond criticism, but a 6?!
@Demi_God
.......or the game could just deserve a 6?
I feel like I'm the only one who ain't hyped over getting the game. I feel it's too overhyped like watch dogs was and within a couple of weeks people will start complaining about it
@Dannyboy1996 you know, I agree with you completely. A few years ago when online took off, the hype would be real. But reading the comments in this article, not many peoe seem to care. The game my gf was hyped about was the Sims 4... She's been on it since the day it came out. And .y game I'm hyped for naruto storm revolution, I'm waiting for it, it is $50 for a great fighting game. I was hyped for storm 2 and 3 and my reaction to it, the game was not disappointing in the slightest. Love the games more than the anime lol. But watch dogs is still one of the best games they say, I got that pos out of my house as quick as possible because it looked like crap, and I'm not talking graphics. I mean it was Chicago. It was empty on PC and ps4. And I owned the ps3 version and played ps4 version from my friend. The graphics were amazon but not GTA v amazing. There wasn't much to do... It was just boring. Destiny looks fun, played the beta, but... I'm not hyped for it at all.
@Godsire-
You would like that. LOL
Oh so Bungie wants to express how unimportant the first reviews are...lmao. Just more slimy corporate political fodder from a dev team that has promised way too much and fallen way too short. They want to pad the possible fall and usurp any criticism before it even happens. All along we have wondered if there was really a story to this game. Now everyone and their mother can get top the heart of the matter and see for themselves. Bungie is now insisting that there is no room for criticism and insists that you have to level up all the way to the cap before you can even give an accurate review. Have you ever heard of a developer pandering for support before they are even attacked? This should say something. I dont expect you fanboys out there to hear it, though. Destiny's makers want their millions of cookie cutter guardians to be armed with a rebuttle. "BAHHHHH! Him Awwwwriddy sayz dat weviews r goin to be BAHHHHHHHD! Ur prejudging the most indepth game ever BAHHHHHH!" - The Sheep. I guess Bungie is having a really tough time with the idea of having to let go of the fact that the millions and millions of dollars spent on image control will no longer shield the game from objectivity, and what better way to show this then offering an out of left field preemptive strike against any would be critics. This is straight from the crooked politician playbook, just like the lies told at the first unveil, and just like the lie about needing to pre order the game to play the beta...the entire lead up to the release has been riddled with misrepresentations and an ungodly amount of money on promotions to trick less than intelligent children and adults into thinking this game isnt just a slightly altered Halo. HONK HONK! Good job Deej, I am sure your guardians love you for it!
I wasn't excited for this game until I played the beta. Now I can't wait to get my copy after work and dive in. If I can get more if what I got from the beta, I'll be satisfied. Sadly this gen is gonna be 8-10 years of boo-hooing, by gamers I see... The game is made by "you" the player and your experience with friends. "You " are the experience, in this awesome setting.. I'm not a social gamer, I'm playing diablo on my Xbox solo, lol.. But I'll be on my ps4 with my friends I made playing the beta! Running around with my friends in a video game, exploring new worlds I won't ever see in real life, is what has me excited! People miss the point if video games now a days! They are meant to pass the time. Not fill some void in your life. Everyone's waiting for that "revolutionary game", keep waiting! Your expectations will never be met. I buy games based on what I might like, not what I'm told, that hasn't failed me yet, and I like destiny.
Sorry for the rant.
Well, a website reviewing games, should not be putting down another reviewers outlook on a game. So unprofessional. Besides, it doesn't matter that the servers were only active, the game was planned to be released and therefore should be complete for it's release date. God, this site is a joke.
Well, I was hyped initially but after a week with the beta and the really grindy flash missions, followed by an announcement that end game content would need coordinated groups,to plan and play 3 hour missions, just got turned off.
Perhaps a 6/10 is not too unrealistic
Oh hey, we're going to embargo all reviews until after the game has released.
And oh, btw, those first reviews? Just ignore those. If it's negative then it can't possibly be legitimate.
And the user feedback? Ignore that too. It was all alpha and beta anyways.
