Gravity Rush is one of this author's favourite new franchises of the past five years. Kat's inaugural outing on the PlayStation Vita may not have been perfect, but it had enough personality and gameplay nuance to make it a property worth investing in. It's a shame, then, that following the announcement of a sequel a few years ago, it appears to have dropped off the radar. Shuhei Yoshida, the president of Sony Worldwide Studios, is just waiting for the right time to re-reveal it.
"That's another project that we're waiting for the right time to unveil," he said of the game during a GameSpot stream with the Kinda Funny crew. "I've been playing the game for some time." The perks of being one of the most powerful men in gaming, eh?
Earlier in the year, a ratings board seemed to out a PlayStation 4 re-release of the original title, so it seems likely that we'll learn about that soon – perhaps at the Tokyo Game Show in September. Of course, the sad news is that with Sony ceasing production of blockbuster Vita games, it seems almost certain that you'll need to buy a new-gen console to experience its successor. Then again, if you haven't got a PS4 yet and like Sony games – well, it's time to upgrade.

Yeah I can see GR 2 and a remaster of the first being announced at TGS.
I really hope they at least keep it on both the PS4 and Vita. Might just buy two copies if they do that.
PS4 is the way to go for the sequel. A re-release of the original would definitely be worth while too. The only thing that concerns me is I'm not sure how much interest there will be in this franchise even with the bigger install base on the PS4. I love the original game but it's definitely a niche game.
I believe Kat will eventually become a major video game icon and Vita will be primarily remembered as the console she debuted on
PS4 to me, I would like to try but after 3DS, Ps4 and Wii u I can't afford another console, so to me would be impossible to play on Vita.
I love gravity rush. if gravity rush 2 came out with a ps4 version of the original, along with Nier, it would be enough to convince me to buy a ps4.
@Savino completely agree with you - a title with cross-save which Yoshida stated would still be am option for Vita games - I reckon this will be it's last big game.....but for me the Vita is the finest iteration of all portables going back to game & watch and Game Boy.
It is rthe realisation of what Game Boy could be 20 years later.
Gravity Rush, which doesn't incorporate AAA graphics (arguably) but an immersive cel-shaded sandbox, was an incredible demonstration of the formats potential - Sony owes us the original investors in this amazing product, a decent reward for keeping the faith in a better capacity than their own marketing teams.
Viva la Vita
Fock you too, sony, fock you too. Why would I buy a ps4 after they screwed me, a vita-owner, over so much. Games are not everything, I can't support a company I don't respect.
