You may never lose track of your gaming schedule again, as it looks like a calendar is being added to the PlayStation 4 as part of a future firmware update. Eagle eyed gamers spotted an extra icon on the promotional images used for the European version of Journey's dynamic theme, and it very much alludes to some kind of on-board almanac.
Exactly what this will do is unclear, but looking at the screenshot it seems that you will be able to flag certain occasions. Perhaps this will keep a log of your gaming activities over time, as well as alert you about new releases and key events. We'll reach out to Sony to see if we can learn more about this – in the meantime, tell us what you'd use a hypothetical PS4 calendar for in the comments section.

@KratosMD Agreed, I'd like this feature too.
This could be a reaaaal cool way of seeing what your mates are playing and organising online play. Simple yet suprised it isn't a feature already!
If anyone cares to remember, that's what I suggested about a year ago on the forums, if used as I proposed they'd be clever to mark all releases during a calendar year, even for unannounced titles, but just leave the info box on that day blank, that way they could create anticipation for their releases without us even knowing any kind of detail about what it would be and WE on the other hand would know that we're always and constantly served food for our hungry gamer hearts. Not that PS4 doesn't have enough games - I can't keep up with playing - just saying!
I'd rather have something I'll actually use, like External HDD Support for storing games when my internal gets full.
good then i wont forget to play fallout4 EVERY FRIGGIN DAY FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS!!! YYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAA@#$%*(#$^(
@kyleforrester87 That's a good point - it could make group gaming a heck of a lot easier for clans and the like. Hopefully this sort of stuff gets implemented!
Just give me half decent parental controls. They went to all the trouble of adding sub accounts but didn't bother to allow each account to have its own control level. Even just pin protecting the launch of games exceeding the system control level (like the ps3 did) would be way better than the sucky system Sony have put together for the ps4.
I love a big firmware update with new features. We are due one soon I would imagine.
