Do we still think that Sony's not going to drop the price of the PlayStation 4 globally before the holidays are over? Hot on the heels of Japan's recently revealed RRP reduction, the platform holder has announced that it will be cutting the cost of its new-gen system across Asia, with the likes of China, Hong Kong, and Korea all set to benefit from the strategy.
While the East has been the appliance's weakest region since launch, we reckon that this foreshadows a similar reveal for the West at Paris Games Week next month. The manufacturer will not want to see the momentum of its machine slow, and a small price drop – what's looking like $50 at the moment – would keep it at its record breaking best through the holidays.

The USA next...well maybe not because SONY PS USA doesn't seem to want to take on MS in the USA(like last Xmas in the USA. SONY just let MS win Sep/Nov)(Yes i want SONY to win all the time) Oh well. Nice 1 anyway SONY
"It was the heat of the moment"
$50 price cut seems likely for 500GB as they keep the 1TB at the $400 price, similar to what MS did.
I'm not biting this holiday anyway, already spent $95 on XCX, and waiting for an Uncharted 4 bundle in March. Price will drop by then I'm sure.
In Tesco today the ps4 with MGS V is £279.99 - what's it being dropped to? Practically giving them away.
This doesn't benefit those of us who already have a PS4. Hopefully they release the 1TB PS4 with a lower price point.
Confirm for NA and I am in.
It definitely needed one in Japan although I'm not sure how much it will actually help. PS4 seems to have firm control in Europe right now though and the console is selling strong in NA even if it gets overtaken by X1 this holiday so while a global price drop would be nice, it's likely not happening.
