Rumour has it that the fantastic Life Is Strange and the underrated Killing Floor 2 will be the two free PlayStation 4 games with PlayStation Plus in June 2017. The speculation comes courtesy of PlayStation Turkey’s official Twitter account, and while we’d caution against getting too excited just yet, it’d be a very agreeable lineup if true.
Life Is Strange was one of our favourite games of 2015, and Killing Floor 2 is a well-received co-operative shooter that would go down well among FPS fans. Of course, this would only represent a portion of the lineup, as the PS3 and Vita also get two games – many of which are often cross-buy and playable on the PS4 as well.
But would you be happy with this selection? Are you hoping it turns out to be true? Join the Vortex Club in the comments section below.

Excellent lineup if accurate.
Would be awesome. I'd planned two get both anyways soon, so if there are part of the line-up coming month, I'm more than happy )
That's not bad at all, Killing Floor 2 is a good laugh with friends.
I'd be happy with those. KF2 is seriously awesome with friends!
Wouldnt be happy if killing floor 2 was part of the line up as i paid £15 for it a couple of months ago lol. Exactly the same happened with alienation. Think i need to be abit more patient before i buy
Life is Strange doesn't appeal and Killing Floor 2 looks very limited but might be good for a laugh with friends - not something I would buy or be interested in generally...
@get2sammyb Is it safe to assume it's all of LiS and not just episode 1?
You've raved about it enough, if we get it all I'll play it, probably wouldn't bother if it's just the first part though.
@rjejr Life Is Strange: Episode 1 is already free so it'll be the full season like Tales from the Borderlands this month.
Yes.
Nope, not interested.
After losing my "free" games, I feel it is better just to catch them on sale and actually own them.
@get2sammyb "Episode 1 is already free"
Yeah, that would be a pretty lame PS+ offering then. Sorry for the stupid question.
Is this a Tales game? I really dont' like point-and-click and pick your dialogue, I thought it was a traditional 1st or 3rd person game, only really slow and boring.
Who has not got life is strange allready.
This is tempting me to renew my subscription, but I probably won't.
I have no interest in Life is Strange and I'll probably get Killing Floor 2 on PC when it's on sale.
Great lineup for anyone that's interested.
I have been wanting to pick up Life is Strange so this would be great.
@rjejr
It's a hybrid between 3rd person and point and click. Best way to find out is to download episode 1 and find out. Personally I absolutely loved it
@rjejr It's third-person. As @starman292 says, best to try it. It's really great.
@rjejr I would describe it as similar and different telltale game. It feels like telltale is stuck in a system and is content to keep churning out games, but life is strange felt like it had something to add to the equation. It just felt fresher all around.
I would probably give KF2 a go but Teenage Tumblr Time Team can go wallop itself.
Already have life is Strange but nice other people get to play it
always thought KF2 might be worth a punt if it was cheap, but i never saw anybody on my friends list play it, and i assumed that it probably didn't have too any many populated public servers. giving it away free could lead to a bigger online community..
@rjejr I would add to what others have said and suggest that you stick with it until you at least finish the first two episodes. From my own experience, I found the second episode really upped the stakes and grabbed me more than the first. If you're still not into it at that point, it's probably not for you
@Quintumply agree completely, episode 1 was cereal and all but episode 2 hooked me completely.
Man I'm getting such little value out of PS+ this year as I've already had a lot of the games. Hope these aren't this months otherwise it's happening again!
@rjejr @Quintumply Yeah, I think the first episode gets the vibe of the game across, but you're right — it's the end of Episode 2 where it really kicks into gear.
Hella good.
I nearly leapt around my office 2 minutes ago, Prey 2 and Eve Valerie we're showing. But it was a banner from Argos. Damn it.
Not bad if it's true, i'll defo try Life is Strange but I doubt i'll like it, I thought Tale's from the Borderland's was awful and could only play it for about an hour, so glad I never paid for it. Kf look's like fun but at launch it only had TWO boss's in the entire game, I hope they added more.
ugh another month of 1 game i aready own.
Bluh i might as well stop buying games and beg for them for free like everyone else.
I hope this is true, I have almost pulled the trigger on Killing Floor 2 several times but ended up holding back due to how many games I have in my backlog.
Also Life is Strange is a great game too and I can't wait for the sequel.
This is a fantastic selection for PS Plus titles. Finally, I can finish everything after the first episode of Life Is Strange!
NOICE! Life is Strange has been platinumed like 1 year or more ago...but Killing Floor is very interesting for me It's been some months since I've been excited about a Plus game
Life is Strange is decent. An easy platinum if that floats your boat. Already bought it but no matter
Meh
Not for me again this month. I'm not a co-op/multiplayer fan, and life is strange ep 1 bored me to tears. Mind you, that's not to say it's not a good game folks, before I get attacked it just wasn't my cup of tea. Me, personally, I'm still awaiting the inclusion of PSVR games to IGC. Surely that would sell units to those on the fence about purchasing one
@blakey78 I doubt PSVR games will be offered any time soon as PS+ games. I can just see the backlash from PS+ subscribers for being offered a game for a niche paraphernalia. Maybe if and when they drop PS3 games from the PS+ free game line up they could replace that with PSVR games.
Would love to finally play all of Life is Strange
@booshy89 some rumours are circulating the full roster, actually, but beyond the PS4 pic we see here, no source is given for the other platforms. But just to humour it at leisure:
PS4: Killing Floor 2, Life is Strange, Neon Chrome, Spy Chameleon
PS3: Abyss Odyssey, WRC 5: World Rally Championship
PS Vita: Neon Chrome, Spy Chameleon.
Tried Killing Floor 2 during a free weekend or something not long ago. Alas, I wasn't really hooked, and I don't think I saw any control settings to get the fire button off R2 either (again, what's the deal with increasingly fewer games allowing significant button remapping these days?) - good luck shooting off waves off mutants with the rear touchpad. Life Is Strange, on the other hand, seems very promising, reminiscent of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time in its premise - and did I get it wrong or there are sizeable environments to explore?
The image rumours have been reliable lately; PS3 and Vita may still remain a mystery despite the lineup rumour I quoted above. If it's true, Murphy's Law will troll me with yet another racing game where I can't play it, but Neon Chrome looks like Alienation but without Remote Play reliance in my case. Certainly trying it out, and Spy Chameleon may provide its load of fun challenge as well.
EDIT: just looked up Abyss Odyssey - arrrgh, forget WRC5, this here is an apparent 2D action-adventure with the fighting style described as a mix of Street Fighter and Super Smash Bros! And it's not even cross-buy. Oh well, at least it IS on PS4, so not all is lost.
I just bought life is strange in the late saleee 😢😢
Life is Strange and a coop shooter?
Yuck!
Really hoping this rumour is true.
i love life is strange i even bought limited ED
if you did not play it try it one of the best game i played on this GEN
i really like to see what is killing floor looks like a trash
but it is free anyway....
Literally just started playing Life is Strange on PS3 earlier today. Perhaps i should stop and play it on PS4 now. It does look pretty dated.
@blakey78 I don't see why they can't offer PSVR/2D games like Rez or Bound.
Already have Killing Floor... I'd be interested in LiS for free, and only free, though.
@Totaldude911 for what it matters here, we did get Hyper Void recently.
@Tasuki I know that it was hinted at in an interview but they didn't give a time frame
@blakey78 That's good to know. I just hope that as a PS+ member who's not interested all for PSVR I wouldn't be happy if they gave us a PSVR game in place of a PS4 game one month, but to include it along with PS3, and Vita I wouldn't mind, I just wouldn't download it.
@Tasuki fair comment. What with them supposedly stopping the inclusion of PS3 games I just hoped they'd at least offer one PSVR game. Even if, as @Totaldude911 mentioned, they included a cross buy game like Res or Bound, that would please all involved. Well, apart from the PS3 faithful of course lol
@nhSnork Hell yea. That's the only reason i'm playing it. Super cool of them to include that.
Also, Race the Sun was free a long time ago and now has free PSVR support.
How many episode's does LiS have? Four I think right? So if the game sux until the end of episode two, does that mean half the game sux? I doubt i'll even bother downloading it, the first episode is free and I never bothered with that. Does anybody know if they added anymore boss's to KF? Or does it still only have 2?
@xMEADx Do you not generally like Telltale games or was it just Borderlands in particular? Because in my opinion Tales from Borderlands was the best of the bunch; it got so good as it progressed. So, if you didn't get very far, I would stick with it and at least complete episode 2 if you haven't already.
@Ben_Rage_V2 I might give it another bash I don't think Telltale game's are for me though, I want to be able to get into them and feel the connection I just never can. LiS is may well be more up my street tbh with it being a bit more 1st person, at least I think it is anyway, I might download it I usualy do..
@blakey78 Where the heck did you hear that? Also I doubt that they'll just stop supporting PS+ on PS3 at the snap of a finger...
@blakey78 What backwater website did you get that info from?! Because no matter how you word it Google and Ask have zero relevant articles listed regarding PS3 games being dropped from the service, not even rumour articles lol.
@blakey78 I also think there's a good chance that Sony will recycle through all of the previous PS3 offerings on PS+ when it is eventually dropped. There's really no point in rendering the service completely useless for PS3 owners until PS3 servers are shutdown and since PS3/PS4/Vita use the same servers it probably won't be shutdown until the PS4/Vita servers are also shutdown.
@Reanfan7 I did say supposedly. There was all sorts of chatter and speculation regarding an article stating Sony were planning "big things" for ps plus. Cue 100's of comments full of said speculation. Now, I know for a fact that Sony are considering PSVR for ps plus at some point as that comment was made a few months back. As for the PS3 games, it's unlikely they'll stop them but you just never know with Sony.
@Reanfan7 You know I was only talking about the 2 free PS3 games being dropped, not shutting it down in its entirety for PS3 users? That's just bad business sense.
@xMEADx LIS is worth a look. I think the gameplay and overall setup feels a lot fresher than the telltale games. Speaking for myself, I thought the story became very derivative later in the game, which left me a little underwhelmed, but that shouldn't stop anyone from giving it a go. One thing I like about telltale style games is that they play really well on the Vita using remote play. It's kind of fun for me to play them in my bed before I go to sleep. If you have access to remote play I would try playing it that way
@nhSnork It looks like that entire lineup might be accurate!
I don't have any of those games either and both Vita games are compatible with my just obtained PSTV! ^_^
