PlayStation VR exclusive Farpoint has been selling pretty well, charting in both the UK and the US despite its relatively high price point. And a new expansion is on the way starting 27th June, which will add two chilly new maps to the co-op campaign. Not only this, but all existing multiplayer maps will be added to Challenge Mode, while the DLC will also incorporate a new character skin and virtual toys to the title’s lobby. There’ll be a new set of Trophies, too, of course.
“It has been just under a month since Farpoint was released and we are excited and delighted with Farpoint’s reception,” Impulse Gear’s co-founder Seth Luisi wrote on the PlayStation Blog. “Demand has far exceeded our expectations. We want to thank the community for their support and we look forward to sharing more of our plans for Farpoint with you soon.” We’re looking forward to returning to the depths of space when this new content drops next week.

Great news.
I'd like to buy Farpoint, but I can't find the aim controller anywhere. Poor game launch...even if they misinterpreted the demand (expensive VR game requiring a special controller for the optimal experience) their communication about new supply has been nonexistent. Too bad, because this was an opportunity to support VR.
@FATPC literally what I came to post. Bugger all stock available anywhere, unless you want to pay double the price! Sort it out, chaps.
It's the first time in a long time I had to wait for more stock to turn up. I actually can't remember the last time a game I wanted was out of stock.
Worth the wait though, amazing game and the aim controller adds so much to the immersion.
Looking forward to the dlc.
Great to see this game getting more support. I hope they add more story missions at some point too.
@get2sammyb
Think this will ever get made playable without VR or would the game not work? It looks cool, but I can't get into the whole VR thing.
@Gamer83 I wouldn't hold your breath, no. I mean it could happen I guess, but it's been built for VR so I doubt it.
Ok so this game is like... THE good surprise of last months for me. I wasn't intirely sure of me, buying it. And what a thrill. The aime controller is just awesome, the gameplay is like... How can you return to regular fps after that ? Now the other games of this genre make me feel like I'm driving a robot ! While Farpoint... Wow. Just aiming like that.
Oh, piece of advise : play STANDING, and no turning of the camera. You turn your head, your body, and you discover this beautifull planet.
The all game is inspired : smells sometimes like Metroid, then you think of Halo... But it never duplicates those games, just use them as inspiration.
Sometimes, you just stop, and you star at the sky, making a little "wooooooo..." without noticing it. What an experience. Seriously, if you own a PSVR, you have to buy this game, with the aim controler.
Loved this game with the aim controller. Im hyped for Arizona sunshine later this month I already read what the plot was and seems pretty good but mainly gonna enjoy the zombie killi'n
@seanobi If you're in the US, Walmart has had them in stock recently --but you might have to drive to one of their stores that are away from a metro area if you're close to one. I got my bundle at a local Walmart a week after launch, and I've gotta say... this is a hard game to put down. I've already beat it twice, and still want more of it. It's the feel of it; there have been points where the combat felt real because of the tactics that I was able to use.
From what I understand, "Special Forces VR", which is currently under development, also uses the Aim Controller. From what I've seen of gameplay footage so far, it looks to be a first-person tactical shooter, closer to Ghost Recon or RainbowSix than Halo or Call of Duty. That game will be worth having the Aim Controller on hand for, at launch, if you're into those type of games.
Even if it's tough to find at the moment, the Aim Controller is worth the effort --even on it's own.
