Nothing can move Monster Hunter: World, which has topped the Japanese software charts for the fifth consecutive week. Capcom's action role-playing title shifted another 54,000 copies on PlayStation 4, meaning that its total retail sales are now closing in on 2 million. Including digital numbers, World's almost at 3 million in Japan alone.
Three other PS4 games made it into the top five, all of them new releases. Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match came close to knocking Monster Hunter off its perch with 46,000 copies, while Metal Gear Survive entered in third with a rather 'meh' 31,000 copies. Below that, the latest Senran Kagura title made it with 24,000 copies.
On the hardware side of things, Sony's home console was removed from its throne after seven straight weeks at the top. Combining standard PS4 and PS4 Pro sales, the system shifted around 35,000 units.

@YummyHappyPills they should do both in my opinion. Each hast their strengths.
@YummyHappyPills it’s gonna flop if true why?
1: The West will be spoiled by the graphics of MH World
2: Unless it’s released on Switch it’s gonna flop on 3DS the only games rn I can see doing alright is Detective Pikachu & Persona Q 2.
3: People prob would just want a remake of XX on PS4/PC...
That's quite bad for MGS survive.
Also, not sure why PS4 dropped so much.
@naruball cus people already got one + remember one thing
A pink puffball is fast approaching
Looking forward to seeing how Ni No Kuni does in Japan.
@Shellcore it’ll do well.
Is nobody here going to talk about the 100% increase in Xbox one sales?
@Grim-Tuesday cus mostly no one cares
At best by the end of 2018 Xbox One Family will hit 100K sold overall in Japan but that it
@Derpie1 A console that sold double from the previous week is quite significant wouldn't you say?
3.[PS4] Metal Gear Survive (Konami, 02/21/18) – 31,359 (New)
4.[PS4] Metal Gear Survive Slot 2 game save (Konami, 02/21/18)
5.[PS4] Metal Gear Survive Slot 3 game save (Konami, 02/21/18)
@Grim-Tuesday Not when the numbers are statistical white noise to begin with, no.
@get2sammyb Double the sales from the previous week sounds like a lot of new interest in the console doesn't it? A company can really sell the hype if they statistically sold double this week than the previous week. Perhaps they can finally close the gap that is the PS4. The PS4 lost sales whereas the Xbox doubled sales.
@Grim-Tuesday yeah but Xbox just doesn’t sell yeah it adds up but Xbox One in Japan has yet to hit just 100K
@Carl-G Very good.
@naruball PS4 was selling higher in recent weeks due to the release of MH so has just dropped back to roughly what it was selling before then...
@Derpie1 whispering, "I'm just trolling"
The PS4 obviously sold more. Just using faulty logic for funsies.
@Grim-Tuesday shrugs
Well now w these dumb speculations about Sega & Microsoft doing... something anything can happen...
Japan supports Metal Gear Survive but not Shadow of the Colossus.
@naruball MG Survive was released for PS4. That was obviously enough to discourage potential buyers.
