There’s not much going on in Japan at the moment, as evidenced by Record of Grancrest War being the best-selling new release of the week. The title moved just 11,871 units. It means that evergreen seller Splatoon 2 was able to secure the top spot with just 15k units added to its already substantial tally.
Elsewhere, the PlayStation 4 version of Super Bomberman R moved an unremarkable 4,946 units at retail, while Detroit: Become Human continued to build on its best ever launch in the region – now amassing sales near 75k units. Like the software, hardware sales were also unremarkable; all PS4 models combined scraped 25k units in total.

Detroit has done phenomenally well in Japan.
Both Detroit and Dark Souls Remastered launched in the same week. Despite Detroit being more expensive and Dark Souls having the bigger launch, the former looks to have the better legs.
QD must be well pleased .
How well did the original release of Bomberman do? I know it was over a million worldwide by this point.
@Knuckles-Fajita Its estimated at being the 69th best selling game on the Nes. Sold over 1 million copies.
How come the X1X did so well (relatively), did they have a price cut or something?
@themcnoisy You know what I meant
@themcnoisy Nice.
Damn I didn't realize just how much the Switch was selling. Good to see Detroit doing well though, Sony at least has a good few major games in the pipeline too. Good for me as I own both a Switch and PS4 so I can play Spider-Man and such while waiting on Smash.
Japan sure loves their kids in squids.
As a Switch owner, I don't get the excitement around the console. There's bugger all decent games and it feels quite poorly built.
@Ichiban Switch isn’t for everyone, that’s true, but it is great for those it suits.
My son is 6. He plays his Switch every day. When we want to watch TV (or I want to play my PS4) he plays handheld, freeing up our only TV. When we got to Grandmas, he and his cousins play 4 player ARMS or MK8 on that tiny screen and they love it. When he gets stuck on Mario Oddysey, he just brings the Switch to me in the garden or office and I help him and he gets on with his game. I don’t have to leave my work to help him. Same goes for if he wants to show me something he finds exciting.
Also a lot of the first party games are great games. Zelda, Mario Oddysey, MK8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2. Again they aren’t for everyone but they are so unique and no other console has games similar to them.
It isn’t for everyone, but for those it suits it is perfect.
Am I the only one that when I see '[NSW]' in the charts I automatically think the word '[NEW]'?
@readyletsgo
When I see [NSW] I think "Not Safe for Work"
Was going to say different strokes, but that is not right either.
So I won't say it.
@McGuit lol! Nsfw too yes!
@NintendoFan4Lyf Sure buddy whatever you say.
We've been fighting this companies to get us 60fps option in games for years we don't need to be held back next gen.
and we don't need systems like switch to wait months after release of games to play horribly downgraded version of almost every multiplat game.
@McGuit Or just Not Safe Work. Work itself isn’t safe!
@NintendoFan4Lyf
No that's not it at all that was never it wth.
It's been a standard for over 2 years that console gamers want options for 60fps 1080p and 4K graphics barely few now want ultra high realistic graphics that makes your TV explode.
Those are the companies that want it because beauty sells and gaming is no exception.
@NintendoFan4Lyf
Definitely more options is always better And I think it's high time we start getting that.
