Hideo Kojima has always pushed the boundaries of video game visuals, but running on Guerrilla Games’ exceptional Decima Engine, the upcoming Death Stranding looks like his most impressive work to date. Alongside today’s release date reveal, platform holder Sony has also showcased a selection of new PlayStation 4 Pro screenshots – and the character models are up there with the very best we’ve ever seen.
For the purists among you, there are also some gameplay images, showing protagonist SAM placing a climbing anchor and also evading some angry enemies in hazmat suits. It’s all mightily impressive stuff, but it looks better in motion, so we recommend checking out the new trailer if you haven’t already. Are you impressed by what you’re seeing here? Sit tight until 8th November in the comments section below.

for some reason Troy Baker reminds me of Klaus from the Umbrella Academy on Netflix
A Taste of the kind of character models we can hope to see in Horizon 2 and a Future Killzone game
It’s crazy good looking, especially the part in the world war era with all the particle effects. What are games on the PS5 going to look like?!

I was really hoping one of these editions would come with a 'Konami's Tears' mug.
So, can I officially say RIP to all standard PS4s CPU fans out there that will be trying in vain to keep the CPU cool running this game?
I thought the character models and animation in Horizon Zero Dawn's The Frozen Wilds were tremendous.
@Turismo4GT I am pretty sure they will push the ps4 pro even more to its limit. But if the optimisation is good, it could run smoothly.
