Update: Sony's officially outlined Marvel's Iron Man VR's roster of purchase options. The standard release will cost just $39.99, and if you pre-order from participating retailers you'll score four custom armours and a dynamic PS4 theme. Plump up for the $49.99 Digital Deluxe version from the PlayStation Store and you'll grab a further four armour styles, 12 Research Points (allowing you to unlock some in-game upgrades for Iron Man early), a digital soundtrack, and an exclusive theme. Pre-order from the PS Store and you'll also unlock a month trial to Marvel Unlimited.
Marvel’s Iron Man VR will fly to PlayStation VR on 28th February, comic book megacorp Marvel announced at New York Comic Con earlier today. That’s just a week after The Last of Us: Part II, meaning that you can expect two major PlayStation 4 exclusives in just seven days – and Final Fantasy VII Remake’s due out almost immediately afterwards as well.
The organisation showed a new trailer for title as part of a panel, showing the eponymous superhero battling Ghost from Ant-Man and the Wasp. Fascinatingly, the aforementioned antagonist will be able to hack your headset, resulting in some super cool effects we suspect. It’s all part of an original story that developer Camouflaj has concocted for the game.
As you can probably expect, there’ll be pre-order bonuses, including various suit hues and in-game goodies. We’ll update the article as soon as we get more official information from platform holder Sony, but in the meantime let us know whether you’ll be picking up this virtual reality exclusive in the comments section below.

Can't wait for this.
$40 in Feb means $5 BF for this one.
i wonder how soon after they announce the next gen hardware they'll announce a new PSVR headset? Or if the current PSVR headset will plug into the next gen hardware?
On the one hand, it would be kind of nice, but on the other hand, would be nice if the next gen hardware has that external box built in to cut out all the wire clutter that I'm constantly tripping on whenever I change a cart or disc so a PSVR 2 will be easier to use.
That’s a lot of early year goodnesses
And 2020 continues to get more expensive.
I will get this day 1. But they picked a horrible time to release. Isnt that same day as TLoU2 and a week before FF7 lol. Sony should probably reconsider that date...or Camoflaug. You want everyone one of the 4 million to buy this
@AdamNovice. I hear ya. Luckily, my credit card just gave me an increase, LOL
@Nyne11Tyme Sony are probably think that the PS4 and VR audience as separate thing where there won't be much clash.
This game will be the benchmark on how mainstream VR gaming has become. We shall see.
Yeah, I doubt there'll be massive crossover between The Last of Us 2 and this. Although it's a shame they couldn't get it out before Christmas.
@AdamNovice i mean i understand that. But when you have the most hyped exclusive of this gen (basically meaning if it gets a 1/10 its still selling like gangbusters) and a real killer app for something to sell VR units i find it somewhat conflicting. Who, who owns a ps4 is going...im buying vr for ironman and putting TLoU2 on the back burner?
@Nyne11Tyme well not me as I'm getting both.
@rjejr Sony confirmed it will work on the PS5 earlier this year.
This is a day one purchase for me. It looks amazing and I can’t wait.
Thinking about it, this really is a bad launch date. February is super crowded. It feels like they're sending this out to die for some reason. I mean why not release the back end of March which is relatively quiet until Cyberpunk 2077 launches mid April.
I personally am excited for this game but VR is a pretty small market as it is. Sandwiched between The Last of Us 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake seems crazy. I know they're not VR games but I'd think most people who have PSVR play regular PS4 games as well and that's a lot of money to spend in a very short time. I simply can't afford this as well as FF7 and TLoU2.
@SoulChimera Oh thanks a lot, I even found the article. That I didn't comment on, which makes me feel at least a tad less stupid.
https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2019/04/ps5_will_be_compatible_with_psvr_says_mark_cerny
Now if they will only confirm the name of the next gen console, b/c despite the article itself saying PS5 at least 3x, Cerny never did in the orignal article on Wired.
"where Cerny is finally detailing the inner workings of the as-yet-unnamed console that will replace the PS4."
"If history is any guide, it will eventually be dubbed the PlayStation 5. For now, Cerny responds to that question—and many others—with an enigmatic smile. The “next-gen console,“ as he refers to it repeatedly,"
https://www.wired.com/story/exclusive-sony-next-gen-console/
At this point, if they name if anything other than PS5, I'll probably be banned from PS b/c I'll be so overwhelming obnoxious about it. Though I still think it could happen. Playstation is probably too good of a name to pass up, and nothing is ever going to top Wii but since backwards compatibility will make this seem more like a PS4 Pro 2 rather than all new tech why not just call it Playstation? I know they already had 1 of those, but that launched 25 years ago, a lot of gamers weren't even born yet.
And from a practical standpoint maybe market research says some people - mobile, MS and Nintendo gamers - are intimidated jumping onto a console in it's 5th gen b/c they missed the first 4 but they would get on the ground floor of Playstation?
OK that went on too long.
This might be the first VR game that tempts me to try out PSVR...not enough to ever buy one though.
Will definitely be checking this one out. Probably a summer grab when it's half price though, start of 2020 is already looking crazy enough.
