Also to note, Disney+ will support 4K, HDR, Dolby Atmos, and downloading.
Im tempted by this. I am loath to add another subscription service on top of netflix, amazon prime and ps plus (as well as virgin media) but with a 2 year old already getting hooked on disney - and another on the way, it will be invaluable. Will save the cost of buying dvd's/blu-rays so i would expect to actually profit from this service. The added bonus of the star wars and marvel content for me too is a big plus
The service war 🅸🆂 coming! All about subscriptions.. I won't do it,!
"If it's not, I will be very disappointed and switch to xbox".
TV, TV, TV. I'm having Xbox 360 flashbacks.
In the Netherlands where I live we can already use it on PlayStation since october actually. Didn't work that well the first time I tried it on my ps4 pro and couldn't load 4k resolution while I was playing it on my 4k monitor. But will be better when it is released next week.
I already have hulu....so getting this may make sense if the price conversion is fair. I know you get hulu with this, but its the commercial one, and I pay extra for no commercials. So if that's fairly priced, I can see myself getting this.
@Bizar895 That's not the official paid version though, more like a free demo.
I'm getting Disney + and this makes it easier to launch after a play session. Good news to me.
@Octane huh? Off course it's the full version. The only thing that misses are the shows that are launching on the 12th of November. It isn't a beta or something. Otherwise I would have to install another app on both my phone and PlayStation next week and thats not going to happen because it is not necessary.
@GamingFan4Lyf great but no atmos or 4k on my base ps4 🤨.
I'm an MCU fanboy so I'll be getting it for the shows alone, plus if they add some of the older cartoon series's like the X-Men then I won't be able to sub fast enough.
@Dobbos No Atmos on PS4 period. Hopefully that changes with PS5.
Thankfully, I also have an Xbox One X where Atmos is fully supported!
@AdamNovice It was rumoured to be. Along w/ Gargolyes, which I haven't watched since it originally aired and I'm looking forward to watching it with my kids. Hopefully it aged well.

https://www.cnet.com/news/the-incredible-gargoyles-is-among-the-classic-cartoons-hitting-disney-plus-ducktales-darkwing-duck/
@AdamNovice They have already said that the 90s X-Men cartoon will be available on Disney+
@Genrou @rjejr Yeah I've heard of this but me been in the UK I'm just waiting for the "not available in this country due to licencing"
@AdamNovice Yeah that is 1 of the big problems w/ all of these streaming services, international boundaries making all the offers different. People in Canada and Mexico are always upset - and rightly so - about getting the short end of the "North America" offerings.
are disney removing the marvel shows from netflix and amazon prime?. though to be fair, jessica jones is the only that i bothered to watch more than a couple of episodes of.. and i still need to watch the whole last season of it. that might have to be sooner rather than "i'll get around to it" if it's about to disappear.
I already have Netflix, Hulu, Boomerang and WWE Network. Looks like I’ll be adding one more to the list.
@AdamNovice I'm currently on the Disney Life service which isn't all that good quality is dvd only no HD at all even though it says it does HD. Yet on 400mbps fibre and I don't get HD for anything I can't wait for this and I Hope that we can get a lot I would like to see classic Spiderman cartoon that used to be on Fox Kids
In the UK at least, Netflix doesn’t have 12 months of continuous content. Not being one to care to watch things immediately, I just buy Netflix cards when enough stuff that I’m interested in comes to the platform and there isn’t anything better to watch on terrestrial telly.
I can see a back and forth system of maybe 3 months at at time of active Disney and Netflix subscription for me.
Already have it on my ps4 for almost 2 months now. Dutch for life baby!
@Rick_Deckard not only that, the first country to get disney+ was the netherlands almost 2 months ago. So it technically started in western europe.
Very likely I'm going to get just to watch The Mandalorian then cancel.
@Rick_Deckard In Netherlands we already have it they did the pilot here. 😉
@WillMerfi The Punischer was quite sweet though.
Verizon for the win!
I will be taking advantage of the Verizon offer for a free year of Disney plus. I have Verizon but I'll take their offer
@Rick_Deckard Too be honest never tried it i have most of the stuff on there. 😋
It's already available in the Netherlands. So yeah.
@TotallySpectacul Sadly you mus pay for Verizon Unlimited service to get free Disney+, which isn't a good deal at all to me.
Currently only paying ~$38 monthly with my 6GB prepaid Verizon phone. Whereas Unlimited would cost me $70-$80+.
Does anyone know what time on November 12th will the app be available on PS4?
@AdamNovice just buy the DVD's, i have had the series for years, why wait to sub to a service when you can already get the series and in the long run save money
Got it downloaded on the ps4 and phomes/tablets. Kind of overwhelming the amount of good content packed in here! Watched an episode of The Mandolorian and it seems really great. Service seems very worth it at $7!
@Rick_Deckard sorry chief, have no clue what that is
@Rick_Deckard oh OK, not something I'd be interested in doing. Already have a free year of Disney + and it's only $70 a year which is less than a quarter a day. Not worth the effort to be honest for something so cheap already. It's like stealing food from McDonald's lol
Does it support 4K and HDR on PS4 pro???... Cuz Amazon doesn't
I messaged Disney support about 3 months ago once I read about Disney+, and when it's coming to the UK they said it will be around March 31st 2020 it's coming here
Nah I’ll pass Bring on HBO MAX.
Boo, a lot of the shows will be Dolby Vision (which is great). Except I have a Samsung TV in which Samsung said a firmware update would come to support more HDR. Then they backed off, which makes my Samsung KS9000 obsolete already, since I'm seeing more and more Dolby Vision shows out there.
I should've stuck to LG.
Welcome to smart TV's where they can easily stop updates which makes you purchase a new TV. Most things are controlled by software but companies refuse to update. Gone are the days of a TV lasting 10+ years. Instead it's a 3-4 year life cycle.
@DigiTM I have a Samsung TV from like 5 years ago doenst have all that new audio bit Samsung quickly dropped support for it after 6 months with no more firmware updates. At that time I was looking at LG as well because I still have to this day a 32" LCD TV by LG that's going strong for 12 years now sound is even better that my Samsung TV.
I'm more interested if it comes to Sony TVs so I can watch it it in UHD. I've only got a peasant ps4.
@DigiTM You can't really compare the two. TVs lasts just fine if you don't want to have everything, and by everything I mean things the old TV didn't have anyway.
I wont support Disney. They are dirty and greedy money. Lived in Florida for 9 years. Horrible state for few reasons. Been to Disney World and more.. Expensive park, junk foods and expensive beers pour in the plastic cup. Insulting! They don't care about you.. They just wants to eat your money for their HUGE PROFITS!!! THUMB DOWN!
I have way too many streaming apps and need to cut back so I don't need Disney. I don't have time to watch these programs from various streaming services.
If they had any sense they'd bring the UK launch forward... nothing else to watch with all the sport being cancelled.
Wow, way too many people care about this. No fanx.
Now the important question: can you share it with 3 friends across the world like netflix? If not I'll keep relying on the magical combo NAS + Sonarr + Radarr + Transmission + Plex + Android TV
Don't need another subscription, and have already seen The Mandalorian.
Not sure why this is back on the front page after a month but they are adding Frozen 2 and SW9 soon in the US.
Is this not out in Europe/UK? I saw France doesn't launch till April 7th. It is a solid streaming service & with a kid probably the one that gets turned on the most. All my son does is watch D+ and they have been adding stuff like Frozen 2 and Onward to keep it fresh.
I might have to get this just to watch all of The Clone Wars and The Madalorian series.
@Rob_230 seeing i cancelled my swiss sky sports for obvious reasons and were on lockdown got it for the kids
How do I get rid of the icon?
It's plonked itself as the first item in the TV Apps list (rather than Netflix) and I can't get rid of it!
The link isn't even a proper app as it takes you to a download page on the store!
Nah think I'll pass on this, the only thing that half interests me is the star wars TV program, so might get the free trial and smash through season 1. Other than that nothing, seen most of Disney films I want to, and the superhero films just no they are just boring imo, and too many, they are just ruining cinema no creativity these days. I actually struggle to find a decent film with a good story these days I'm probably lucky to watch 5 good films a year. Where as years back I used to watch a couple of good films a month lol.
Obviously it's available on PS4 if you didn't know that you either have no interest in Disney Plus or you don't have a PS4 why do you insist on repost this every day if you want to post the new and upcoming movies that's cool but reposting is disney Plus available on PS4 is old news
@potter32 And yet you felt compelled to sign in and post about how bored you are. Interesting.
If you have a smart TV, seek out the Disney+ app on that and sing in, rather than via your PS4, for access to Dolby Vision content, subject to availability and your TV's capabilities.
The app on your TV will also output source material at the correct frame rates. Not sure the PS4 can do that.
At the moment, due to Disney+ throttling bitrates, the same as Youtube, Neflix and Prime, Atmos isn't available on all content, despite stating it is.
Which won't matter if watching via your PS4.
