The time has come: February 2020's PS Plus games have been announced. As per usual, subscribers get access to two PlayStation 4 games, but this time there's an added bonus as PlayStation VR title Firewall Zero Hour is also included. If you don't have a headset, you'll have to make do with BioShock: The Collection and The Sims 4.
BioShock's trilogy is obviously legendary, and if you've never played the games before then you simply must give them a go. Fortunately, the PS4 remaster is a good one, as evidenced by our 8/10 review:
BioShock: The Collection is the best way to experience the world of Rapture and Columbia. All three games and their DLC look great and, despite a slightly creaky port of the first game, perform well. Unfortunately, series veterans won't find anything new, meaning that the visual upgrade and the convenience of having everything pulled into one package are the only reasons to return to games that you may have already experienced multiple times.
We're also very keen on The Sims 4, which is highly entertaining -- even on the PS4. We awarded this a 7/10 in our review:
It's the most faithful recreation of the drudgery of daily life on the market, but it's also marred by a bewildering array of control quirks, annoying bugs, and overnumerous menus. If you're prepared to persevere with the more clumsily implemented aspects of the game then there's a lot to love - and there's a ridiculous amount of content - but some will likely be put off by its often obtuse nature.
And while we're fond of PSVR first-person shooter Firewall Zero Hour, we felt that it lacked a large enough playerbase at launch. That will obviously be rectified by its inclusion with PS Plus:
There’s no doubt that Firewall Zero Hour’s tactical combat works well in virtual reality – in fact, the fledgling medium adds a lot to this FPS, allowing you to naturally gesture to teammates and intuitively check your corners in a way you couldn’t on a standard display. But while there are some structural and technical issues that we have confidence First Contact Entertainment will be able to fix, it’s the question marks over its community that make it a tough sell.
But hold on, wasn't Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy basically confirmed by PlayStation Spain? Well, apparently not. PlayStation Spain's post mentioned a beloved saga and included a picture of Crash Bandicoot -- but it looks like it was supposed to be a joke. BioShock must be the saga it was referring to.
Anyway, all three games will be available to download on the 4th February.
What do you think of February's PlayStation Plus selection? Are you disappointed that Crash isn't included after all? Give us an honest opinion in the comments section below.

Absolutely fantastic, three games I’ll play a lot and don’t already own. Brilliant.
Won't be playing any of these once again but hopefully people find enjoyment with this month's games! Glad they're throwing in a VR game though, step in the right direction!
Amazing month! Was gonna buy Bioshock from Ps Store but now that its free I will take it! Very neat gesture from Sony finally adding a PSVR game as well!
This is probably one of the best months ever for me personally, all 3 I haven't played all 3 I have wanted to try.
PlayStation Spain right now:
This time actually it's five games ) not bad february is good waiting for ps now too what will be cant wait )
Happy to have the BioShock collection, and I've wanted to give Firewall a try for a while now. Good stuff.
PS Plus's definitely worth it if they're gonna be giving away collections every month.
Will give the Bioshock games another go for sure.
So......what is the consensus on BioShock 2? I have heard mixed things, but it is the only one in the series I have not played. I will probably give it a try........
I love the bioshock collection
Although a mouse would be nice to play them, really nice games. From me, nothing to complain about..
It's a good month. Very happy with BioShock.
Wow I'm so excited to get The Sims 4..last time I played a Sims it was on the PS2...I never played anything else for months!
Excited to get the VR game too as I haven't got that one...not that playing VR is really a good idea for me at the moment..
Not really a fan of BioShock but all in all this is a brilliant month.
I never got around to playing BioShock Infinite, so that's a result for me
Sweet! Really wanted to try Firewall
More games = more platinums
Solid logic, bois
Excited to try Firewall Zero Hour. I usually don't play games without much of a singleplayer component, but I'll definitely try it free, especially as I like trying out different VR content.
I'll get the other two titles as well, though I'm not too fussed over them.
About time VR started getting some love, hopefully this is the start of a trend
Well, that's still four- no, FIVE games in one spoon (not that VR titles do any more for me than PS3 ones, but eh). Despite already having the collection on Steam and among the top items on my Switch wishlist, I can think of few more impressive PS+ offerings than one of my favourite franchises in one package. Might put my nose into Sims 4 someday as well, lukewarm as my interest in that series may be.
Not bad. I already own Sims 4, but I wouldn't mind giving the Bioshocks another run. I hope the PSVR freebies keep coming, but I can't do Firewall Zero Hour as the walking makes me motion sick. I need to be able to warp. 😕
2 solid games, 1 as a collection and a VR game. Anyone who complains is a real dumbbell.
WOO! I almost bought The Collection, so glad it’s going to be free!
I already own Crash digitally so this is amazing, I wanted both of those games and have almost purchased them multiple times, I am thrilled!
Bad month for me personally, already own the Bioshock Collection, have Sims 4 via EA Access and don't own PS VR.
But PS Plus is for everyone not just me and I am happy for everyone to finally play the amazing two Bioshock games (I don't like Infinite sadly), and gives PS VR users a free title and it's always nice to have the Sims.
Hope everyone enjoys their new titles! 🙂
Will probably give BioShock 2 a go. Played the first and third ones on PS3. Played the Sims on PC not sure how it would work with a controller.
Bioshock is the most memorable in my opinion@Kidfried
Bioshock and Infinite are excellent games. You can play Infinite without playing the first two, but there are Easter eggs throughout Infinite that you won’t understand without the first two.
Firewall is a great game as well. It can be intense given the immersion. Can you play it without an Aim?
Overall a great month!
I agree with the consensus here, great month!!! This has made my year purchase worthwhile already!!!
Bioshock collection!!! Oh heck yeah!! I loooove the bioshock series and have always wanted to revisit rapture on ps4.
Ive already got sims4 and firewall but a great month indeed!
I am happy with this month's selection. VR finally getting some love!
Crap. Got Bioshock dirt cheap on PS Store ages ago. Was looking forward to Crash. Sims 4 ... no, just NO!!
@Kidfried Dishonored 2 blows all 3 BioShocks out the water; 1. Because it's current gen 2. The powers in Dishonored are more meaningful, Bioshock Infinite's especially are pretty much the same. 3. No BioShock released this gen to compete. I like'em all but especially love Dishonored 2.
@Westernwolf4 I played 1 and Infinite on 360 and bought The Collection on PS4 and interestingly I found 1 and 2 enjoyable and Infinite not so much as I did on 360. Probably because I heard Infinite was just a PC port and not remastered like the other two. So if you like 1 you should like 2.
Damn... What a selection. Very happy. A free VR game as well as a bonus. I suggested last week they should do this, my powers are growing.
@Westernwolf4 I don't think it's included tbh. It's the first and Infinite, with all DLC.
Correct me if I'm wrong though.
About time they give out a PSVR game for PS Plus.
I was on the cusp of buying The Bioshock Collection this last week, while debating if I should wait for it to go on sale. Needless to say i'm very excited about this announcement! It's definitely gonna be the next single player game I'm going to dive in to now.
Been eyeing the Bio Collection for a long time but I just never did get it for what ever reason but glad it's on plus now.
2020 is turning out to be a good year for plus with Uncharted and BioShock. 6 games I have yet to play so I'm happy so far 😁
Bioshock should be fun. Not sure about Sims but I might give it a try. Good month.
So the rumour was N.Sense...
Well, it seems like the poor Sims are facing some horrible deaths.
Very happy with Bioshock, though!
I've almost bought Bioshock so many times so I'm cool with it
@Kidfried dishonored, but Bioshock is alright. 😊
Yes Sony. This is more like it!!!
Best month for years get in!
Not a bad month. Bioshock Collection makes it worth it. I already have the VR game and I don't really care about the Sims.
Another first person game I can't play. What's the chances of not being able to add sims 4, because I have it via ea access, guess I'll find out in February. Bad month for me, that may get worse on the 4th.
Another horrible month for me they always give good games like Bioshock, but the kind of games one would buy day one so everyone that cared already has this games, and I don't care about sims much less about VR where are the indies the interesting AA games that I would like to play but not buy
I all ready own both Bioshock collection and Sims 4 but the PSVR game saves the month.
Not bad. I already own the CB Trilogy, but not the Bioshock remaster, so I'm actually very OK with this.
Never did get round to playing BioShock 2, so will download it only to never get round to playing it. Will give Sims 4 a go as it's bit different to the usual games I play.
Have recently completed both BioShock 1 & 2 as part of the collection so won't be getting it for obvious reasons. Thought that first BioShock was better than the 2nd one even though 2nd one was decent.
Better than the rest of the year so far
Never played Bioshock 2 back in the day since Ken Levine wasn't involved. But curious about the much lauded Minerva's Den dlc.
Played the original Sims also, it was cute. So I will at least give the Sims 4 a whirl.
Wow... waiting for PS5 to get into PSVR. I can start building my library for FREE 😀
Have BioShock on PC. But still good amount of content to play for people who do not have it.
Never played a Bioshock game, so this is a good opportunity to give them a go!
There are people that haven't played BioShock? Huh. I'd rather not play Sims on a console so I'll pass.
Better then Xbox's GwG line up this month
Im actually good with both titles. Already have firewall
Better than Crash I guess, but still nothing I'm interested in.
Was never interested in Bioshock... got one via Plus for PS3 and have never played it. The Sims has never interested me, and I don't have VR.
@Akimi Minerva's den is worth the sub this month alone. Excellent DLC.
That's pretty great. I don't have any of these, and I've wanted to try Firewall!
Bioshock is great, and I don't have the collection so I'm happy with that.
Sims 4 is whatever, but my GF will love that. :]
I could not get into the bioshock games at all on their release, but happy to give them another go!
Sims.... not so much.
Damn, really wanted Crash but really dislike Bioshock and Sims. My upside down frown was turned back down
I'm happy with it. I wanted The BioShock Collection anyways. Dont really care about The Sims but my girl will play that, and I love when they do the bonus VR games.
Never cared for the Sims. Also, Bioshock, never cared for the futuristic fps. But I was going to pick up firewall zero hour and day now so that's great. Really excited to try that! Although I only care for 1/3 selections this month, it's nice to see the community put down there pitchforks for a month. Most people seem pretty happy this month. Take notes Sony!
Already played bioshock 1 on pc, but I want to play bio infinite on my tv.
Never bought Bioshock because I had the last gen versions. The first 2 were great but couldn't get into the 3rd. I have no interest in the Sims though. It seems similar to last months - a bundle of old gen games and a 'sim' game....
I was going to buy the Bioshock collection and, ahem, Sims 4 recently so I'm chuffed.
good games, but useless month for me. Like 3rd in a row. The PS plus better get overhaul.
I guess it's one of the bad perks for owning hundreds of games.
Well thats a good ish selection of games, not too keen on sims did try it on access but nah, bioshock great games and firewall zero hour is probably one of the best vr games ive played will probably put it on since there is sure to be loads of new players, and to all those that will be playing zero hour please put your headset on as it is absaloutley a team game and you have to have headset in order for it to be fun, this is not cod, im not big in talking while playing but this game was the exeption loads of fun to be had when you get a good bunch of gamers to play with and have. Only downside to this months plus is ive got them all but hey ho good month if you havent got any
Firewall is good to make sure every PSVR owner has it.
Bioshock is good, I want to play Infinite.
The Sims 4 though, that's terrible. You do all realize the base game is worthless right? Do you know how much DLC it takes to make it a decent game? There are so many expansions, all too expensive and spread out. I will give that it's very addictive, but lets face it, The Sims 4 is kinds like drugs in gaming, and we should probably reject the base game only coming to Plus. It was like when we had Destiny 2 base game for Plus, atrocious.
My girlfriend is excited about Sims 4 she had it on pc but she's interested in the consoles version. As for bioshock I already have it and platted both 1 and 2 within about 2 weeks. Haven't even tried Infinite yet I never even finished it on pc for that matter and I got that years ago with season pass.
@Jaz007 Fact is you didn't get the base game of destiny 2 Bungie changed it to include the First 2 expansions for the first season pass that came out screwing the first lot of gamers who paid for it. So you actually got more than what the base game offered before they added the expansions.
Forsaken adds even more and that has gone down to like £12 on PSN on some sales so even if you buy that your basically getting a massive game for £12. Shadowkeep isn't all that worth it in my opinion I got it cheap on Steam since I already had Destiny 2 Forsaken edition and it wasn't all that worth it.
I only bought a PS4 a couple of months ago, along with six games - I seem to have a knack for purchasing what then crops up on PS Plus. So expect next month to have Gran Turismo or Dirt Rally 2.0...
@BarefootBowser And the first Dishonored is better than Dishonored 2 . well mostly story-wise . but you could say the writing, characters and dialogues were better too. Daud is probably my favorite character from this world.
@Kidfried I'm sorry but have you played the first Dishonored? literally all the world building was done in the first game. I'd rate the second game lower than the first but it's still a solid stealth (or not) RPG. Definitely enjoyable.
@Nakatomi_Uk That’s when Destiny 2 went FTP. I’m talking about when it was a Plus game. I’m not even talking about it being a Plus game being even more worthless because it went FTP.
Was looking forward to crash bandicoot, looks like jokes on us. BioShock is good but been in numerous sales bought it a while back. Never been interested in the Sims won't play it. Disappointed 😒👎👎👎
Surprised EA are offering their games to a service outside Access. I can understand their PS3 games coming to Now due to lack of backwards compatability but this is surprising.
I bought Bioshock Collection release day. Never played it though lol
Whuuuaat? Psplus is getting back on track again, a month after I discontinued my day 1 membership!? Can it be, the power of my wallet is real!?
@BarefootBowser well I actually would say in terms of gameplay the second game improved a little and it's more diverse. But you know, the feeling of discovering a mysterious world was far more present in the first game. Also I know this game goes for a role playing approach with a main character that doesn't talk but personally hearing Daud's thoughts was very pleasing.
@tameshiyaku They saw you cancelled and said now we finally something the people like. 😋
The Bioshock trilogy was excellent. I own them on PS3 but im still very happy receiving the collection on PS4. Bioshock Infinite is one of my favorite games along with its Burial At Sea DLC. Great month!
I already owned the N. Sane trilogy so this is great news personally.
@TheArt Thank you for your reply. It makes me more eager to try the game!
@oldschool1987 Thank you for your response! PS store says 1, 2, and Infinite are included in the collection. But I don’t have first hand knowledge, so you may be right.
I all ready have Bioshock collection and the Sims4 i have no interest in playing, and i dont have PSVR. so this is another bad month for me.
@Westernwolf4 I hope I'm wrong, I wouldn't mind playing the 2nd again. It's not as good as the other two imo, but it's still worth playing I think!
Maybe now I'll give the burial at sea dlcs a go, by the end of infinite I had enough of the formula at that time. I played bioshock for the first time this gen and whilst it shows its age (it's a radio play with a fps skin), it's one of my favourite games ever!! Enjoy to those who try for the first time.
@Stocksy And now we know we're getting the BioShock collection and The Sims 4 (and a VR game which is cool for those of us who like VR)! Surely you can squeeze some enjoyment out of those, @thebakerswife!
Well this is nice! Sims 4 is the only one I don't own yet but this is really nice
Another bummer month I own them all.
Hey, I’ll take Bioshock Collection! Never played through the first or second, so hell yeah!
Great month! Well done Sony!
I literally just bought The Sims 4 during the holiday sale... aw well it happens. Great month for PSPlus. Will definitely try out the Bioshock collection. 3 games in 1 all for free.
I can't play a sims game without it becoming a murder simulator in 10 mins. Still waiting for an official Saw dlc.
As for bioshock, why now? Can't help to think a surprise new game in the series reveal coming up at e3.
I like this pattern of 3 in 1 games. I wonder if Assassins Creed Ezio Collection is next?
Not bad can't do anything with the VR game though.
Already got bioshock the collection & the Sims 4 but firewall zero hour looks like a good vr game so I'll be downloading that
Could be worse
@Westernwolf4 - BioShock 2 is excellent, combat wise it improves on 1 in almost every way. The story may not have the twists and wow moments of the first game but it's still really good and Rapture is still an amazing setting. Also, the Minerva's Den DLC is outstanding.
Pretty satisfied with this. I never played BioShock 2. I also never played the much lauded Infinite DLC. I wonder, will it still be enjoyable and have as much impact to just jump straight to the DLC if it’s been 5 years since playing Infinite?
I traded in my sons copy of Crash Bandicoot cause he never played it and got into trouble so I was hoping for that to make amends but more selfishly, I am into these choices, best month in ages
Pretty solid month! Firewall Zero is a fantastic PSVR game. Even though I already own the Bioshock games on other systems, it will be nice to play them in HD on my PS4.
Boring selection
Decent month...
The Sims were never my thing and I don't have a PSVR set so that's two games I won't be playing.
Will give Bioshock Collection a go though.
Still think we'd have been better off with Crash...
Own Bioshock already but very happy at The Sims 4.
I remember playing Bioshock when it first released on the PS3, a year after Xbox360 release. It was a phenomenal game at the time, there was nothing quite like it. I still love Bioshock to this day, and Bioshock 2 is a excellent game also. Infinite is good but not as good as the first two, I believe settings are everything and that's what made the first two games. Hopefully the new Bioshock in development goes back to it's roots, the underwater setting's. Not really interested in the Sims 4, ashame Crash wasn't one of the games.
No interest for me, played the original Bioshock and Infinite and have no particular desire to go through them again. The others just aren't for me either. Oh well. Bit gutted it wasn't Crash.
This reminds me of the ps3’s final year before the PS4 came out. Sony suddenly threw amazing games on PSplus every month, with some only being a few months old. Let’s hope that’s what they are starting to do again now. It’s a very good marketing strategy, loads of amazing free games, everyone falls back in love with Sony and pre orders the PS5
Nothing of interest for me. Which doesn’t really matter anyway. I don’t think I’ve played through any of the PS+ games since Infamous: First Light.
OK month. Bioshock is good for me. Not too fussed about the other 2 though.
Dang. Third month out of four that I already own them. I know everyone was complaining that Sony hadn’t been releasing the AAA games on PS Plus, but I preferred the smaller games as there was a better chance I didn’t already have them.
Got both but can't fault them as giveaways. Absolutely love the Bioshock games.
@Shigurui Thanks! I will play it for sure.
Good month, will be adding to my backlog. May need to get a bigger second drive at this rate.
is the firewall game online only? and does it require a aim controller? it does seem so, i already have the sims 4 so only bioshock for me I guess this month.
@SoulsBourne128 yeah ans they dont do it often enough really.
This pisses me off. I'm not angry that we didn't get crash, I'm angry about the old games yet again. BioShock collection is full of old and (imo) overhyped games that we've all probably bought by now. And Sims 4 has been on sale weekly for months now for like $10 for the base so many of us own it. And nobody even knows what firewall is and based on it's reviews and this articles comments nobody cares either about it. Same with last month and the month before I am underwhelmed. The only reason I have plus is because of fallout 76. My year is almost over and I'm almost done with 76 so I'll likely not be renewing. Plus isn't worth it imo.
There are many other games they could give us instead and they keep choosing old crap. I will however say that yes, technically, they are being generous about the "collections" the last two months. Uncharted collection last and BioShock this so technically you got four free games both months (five if you count that crap firewall) but still...
@jgrangervikings1 highly considering not renewing plus once my year is up soon. I am feeling highly underwhelmed.
I remember back in the ps3 days the "instant game collection" and the monthly free games were excellent almost always. What happened?
