What are the best fighting games on PS4? Sony's console is home to a very impressive selection of fighters, and we're going to list the best of them.

Long-established fighting game series are represented on PS4, with the likes of Street Fighter V, Tekken 7, and Mortal Kombat 11. In addition, some more niche games have great entries, like BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, Guilty Gear Xrd: Rev 2, and Samurai Shodown. There are all kinds of ways to duke it out against the AI, your buddies on the couch, or strangers online.

The variety means there's something for just about everyone, but what are the best fighting games on PS4? That's where you come in. We need your help to identify the top tier fighters on PS4, and you can have your say by leaving user ratings on each game. Use this search bar to look up PS4 fighting titles, then rate them accordingly. Doing so will directly impact this list, meaning it'll always represent the tastes of you and your fellow Push Square readers.

A game will need at least 30 ratings before it appears on the list, so if your favourite is missing, it probably just needs more people to drop it a rating.

Without further ado, here it is: our list of the best fighting games on PS4, as chosen by you.

10. Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2 (PS4)

A mission-based action RPG aimed squarely at Dragon Ball fans, Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2 tasks you with correcting franchise history. Playing as your own custom hero, you travel to various points in the Dragon Ball timeline, helping Goku and the gang out in their iconic battles. Highly customisable combat and a near endless list of missions make XenoVerse 2 an adaptation that's hard to put down once you're in the grind.

9. Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition (PS4)

A souped-up re-release which, bizarrely, Sony bought as a console exclusive to complement the PS4’s launch lineup. Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition was, effectively, a port of the PS3's Injustice: Gods Among Us – bundling in all of its add-on packs and extras. With a huge cast, spanning DC Comics icons like Batman and Wonder Woman through to more obscure, lesser-known names, this licensed fighter proved a worthy content-packed alternative to the traditional stalwarts of the genre, like Street Fighter.

8. Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (PS4)

While Street Fighter V was much maligned at launch because of its lack of content, the Arcade Edition represents a far more complete fighting game. Not only does it have the brilliant core fighting and multiplayer that fans know and love, it also includes a good amount of single player stuff on top. It's tough for Street Fighter V to shake its poor reputation, but the truth is that, with a hefty load of updates, it's in a much, much better state in this version.

7. Tekken 7 (PS4)

Though showing its age a little these days, Tekken 7 remains a great fighting game. Its super-crunchy combat is arguably better than ever here, with its overhauled rage system giving even novice players a fighting chance. There's an OTT story to follow and a solid suite of modes to enjoy, including local and online multiplayer of course. An all-round excellent fighter.

6. SoulCalibur VI (PS4)

SoulCalibur as a series has always struggled to recapture the magic of the now legendary SoulCalibur II, but SoulCalibur VI comes close. A return to form in many ways, this weapon-based brawler refreshes its cast of eccentric characters, while also throwing Geralt of The Witcher fame into the mix. Loads of game modes and a range of flashy combat adjustments make this instalment a robust fighting game package, and it all looks lovely in motion.
