The above isn't a new gameplay trailer, but we just wanted to take another look at Guilty Gear Strive in action. It looks bonkers.
Anyway, developer Arc System Works was clearly happy with Bandai Namco's publishing job on Dragon Ball FighterZ, because the two companies have signed a similar deal for the upcoming fighter. Yes, Bamco will be publishing Guilty Gear Strive in Europe and Asia, excluding Japan and South Korea. Presumably, Arc System Works will be self-publishing in other territories.
Bandai Namco's general producer, Katsuhiro Harada, is happy with the publishing deal, and says the pair "wish to further enhance and promote the fighting game community together". He adds, "The continued collaboration between the two means we can bring more exciting games to every dojo around the world!"
In other news, a closed beta is set to take place very soon. Registration for entry is now closed, but we should get to hear some hands-on impressions in the near future. The final game is set to launch towards the back end of 2020.

Is it really a "similar publishing deal"? Bandai Namco is the Dragon Ball license holder, which likely means they contracted Arc Systems to develop DBFZ, whereas Guilty Gear is Arc's own IP. I'm sure Arc was very happy with the exposure the studio got from DBFZ and using Bandai Namco to publish Guilty Gear gives them a better chance at growing their flagship title's user base.
>Bamco. Sadly, this means multiple season passes, dlc and ridiculous prices for said dlc up the bum bum. It sucks that they have almost a monopoly on fighting games and milk them dry.
The game looks soooo damn good. But it's Arcsys, you just know they'll release 3 versions of this game with extra characters, so if I end up buying it it will be when it's 20€ or so
@RayNick Since this is only Europe and parts of Asia, I doubt Bamco has any say on how the game itself is handled. Sounds like it's just distribution as opposed to owning the game, like Bamco does with Tekken or Dragon Ball FighterZ.
Arc System Works will determine how much DLC it has, etc.
@ShogunRok I think they are just as bad or even worse. 😆
@Flaming_Kaiser BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle was certainly DLC heavy... So is Granblue Fantasy Versus, but that's probably more to do with the Granblue owners. So yeah, arguably worse!
@ShogunRok Still looking forward to the Rpg though. I found versus to much only 11 characters and at the release a announcement with characters. I buy most of my games on release dont want to sound entitled but why is it so stripped now. Tekken is something that rubs me the wrong way putting big main big characters behind a paywall Julia and Anna. I dont mind paying for new or guest characters.
Atleast we dont have to buy endings anymore also a Capcom thing.
