Danganronpa is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary in Japan this November, and developer Spike Chunsoft appears to have a lot in store for fans to mark the occasion. Starting next month, the Japanese studio will host a monthly news broadcast which promises to unveil all sorts of surprises. Spike Chunsoft will reveal more details at the Famitsu and Dengeki Game Awards 2019 on 18th April 2020.
As reported by Gematsu, Danganronpa fans can look forward to news relating to games, merchandise, collaborations, and more. Whether or not the series of events will include the announcement of a fourth entry in the visual-novel franchise remains to be seen, although it sounds like something fans will want to tune in for regardless on a monthly basis. The mainline series hasn't put in an appearance since Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony back in 2017, so it'll be interesting to see if Spike Chunsoft has an important reveal up its sleeve. However, a lot of the development team which worked on the series left the company in the time since V3's release.
Do you hope to see a Danganronpa 4 come out of these monthly news broadcasts? Let us know in the comments below.

Id certainly be interested in Danganronpa 4 but the way 3 ended suggested they were done. Wouldnt be the same not playing on vita either
I played the first one last year and quite enjoyed it, it's a lot of fun. I should look into playing the later games!
@BranJ0 Same here. I've also only played the first one, but as my avatar indicates I did really enjoy it.
I loved the first and second games, the third not so much. Most of the anime series is also fan
I really should play this.
I actually don’t think they should make a strict 4th game. If they make another game then it should either be an adaptation of the anime or set in between other games.
The director of danganronpa, Kodaka, left the studio after v3 ended. Kodaka didn't actually want danganronpa to continue after the first game meaning he didn't like the fact he had to do 2 anime series, a sequel games AND V3. This resulted in an emotional "bleh" and let out his frustration on the fans... resulting in the horrific ending of V3
HOWEVER
Kodaka has left the studio and danganronpa is spike chunsoft's property and is also their biggest source of income. Although it's probably unlikely danganronpa will be the same as it was before, we'll likely get new installments (because the company wants money, dangan is their staple franchise). It'll probably be a reboot, a whole new storyline, maybe even new gameplay BUT they'll likely make more death games similar to danganronpa as they were hiring programmers with an interest SPECIFICALLY in danganronpa last year soooooo, keep your hopes high is what i'd say.
I don't mind ports, remakes, or spinoffs, but the series absolutely shouldn't continue past V3. It was a brave, fascinating game with a remarkable ending, and the mere existence of a sequel would undermine the dramatic stand Kodaka took with that game.
I would, however, like a trilogy collection on the Switch. Ideally with gyro support for trials.
@crimsontadpoles It had lots of flaws but I could overlook all of them cause it was just a lot of fun, had a great story and I was so invested in every single character! I've heard that the second one is absolutely brilliant, potentially better than the first, although these comments are putting me off playing V3!
I'm hoping if there are any more games announced they're like Ultra Despair Girls, set in between games and in another genre. A straight up Danganronpa 4 would feel like a disservice to the fantastic ending of V3.
Don’t listen to some of these comments saying Danganronpa should be done when even Kodaka stated Danganronpa was just taking a break. I feel like they can pick up a new Danganronpa game with a new type of plot or atleast work around with Danganronpa V3 ending and expand what Shuichi meant in the end.
I'd love them to work in branching paths somehow depending on your success in the trials.
Kodaka founded a new game studio Too Kyo games after he left Spike Chunsoft. He has already announced 4 new projects for this year (2 games, live action and anime), so I think it's really really improbable he would make a new Danganronpa game at this point.
Also Danganronpa franchise is owned by Chunsoft, so if they won't collaborate with Too Kyo games they would have to make a new game without the main person who created the whole thing, which I'm sure no fans would really want.
I’ve finished both the original Danganronpa and Ultra Despair Girls and loved them both! 😺
I tried playing Danganronpa 2, but didn’t like the new mini games, and felt the trials lasted way too long. I love the story though, so watched let’s plays of both Dangan2+3, and really enjoyed them!
Looking forward to what’ll be announced..
@BranJ0 V3's ending was incredibly polarizing for the Danganronpa community. Most people either really liked it or hated it, but my own feelings were mixed. I thought it was a good direction to take, but I also feel like maybe it could have been better foreshadowed. Danganronpa is all about using your evidence to figure things out after all.
V3 is definitely the weakest of the 3 main games, but it's still a good game. The second game is definitely great though, no question that one is worth playing.
I’d love for another ultra despair girls type game or for Rantaro’s original killing game to be released as a sort of prequel to V3
Spike chunsoft is an underrated developer, I started with Danganronpa, but I love all their games now. Send help...
