Update: After pulling the Instagram post overnight, Next Level Racing posted the following statement to its website: "Our team has recognized that a recent post by us using a logo has been misinterpreted by media and it does not reflect any information from our end, and we deny knowing any information regarding the launch of GT7. There have been assumptions made in the media that are quite simply untrue. Due to this, we have decided to take down our previous social post. Our Graphic Design Department used the mock logo that is circulated on the internet."
The problem then becomes the fact that this particular logo hasn't actually circulated online whatsoever. Outlets including TheSixthAxis and Gematsu have now asked Next Level Racing to clarify where it sourced the logo from. We'll update this article if anything else is said or reported. This is a bit of a fishy one.
Original story: Wait, what? Is that a Gran Turismo 7 logo we spy? It quite possibly could be. Instagram account Next Level Racing, which makes official cockpits for driving simulation games on Sony platforms, posted earlier today to ask its followers which racing title they are looking forward to most in 2020. The likes of F1 2020 and DIRT 5 were valid options, but then the profile whipped out a logo for Gran Turismo 7.
Viewable below, it comes with the caption: "What racing game are you most looking forward to in 2020?"
We were expecting a new entry in the racing franchise to come to the PlayStation 5 at some point, but if this post is taken at face value, it could even be a launch game. Of course, we don't recommend you get your hopes up too much -- this could just be some sort of mockup Next Level Racing has done itself. Nevertheless, the post is an interesting one to consider. If it is indeed a PS5 game arriving at launch, we'll likely hear about it next month when Sony is rumoured to unveil a lot of its next-gen titles.
Do you think this is real? Is Gran Turismo 7 going to be a PS5 launch game? Share your predictions in the comments below.

In all honesty I'm not so sure Sony would be happy with a company faking a logo for a game that is yet to be released. Definitely something on this, might not be launch, but we all know this game is coming, just a matter of when.
It’s 50/50. Do I wish it was true? Yep. Do I think it’s true? No way of knowing until it’s official.
If they make officially licensed racing cockpits, it stands to reason that they may have press materials for GT7 if it us coming around the PS5, explaining the logo. We'll see shortly.
Always expected GT7 to be a launch game on PS5, so wouldn't be surprised. Not sure if this is proof, but it's definitely fascinating.
I really hope so. OFF TOPIC question: Would we have to buy a 8K TV to take full advantage of next-gen visuals? I've been told we'll need an 8K TV to take full advantage of next-gen graphics . Also would a surround sound system be needed with the 3D audio?
@TVRFLY at the moment, I wouldn't of thought so. As the years pass we might see more content for 8K, but developers aren't going to waste resource for something that isn't highly used currently. I do believe the platforms will support 8K though.
It wouldnt surprise me. Sony will launch with the same bland titles that can be made to look pretty on the new hardware. Que the GT7, 3D platformer game, and the Destiny ripoff Godfall and Bluepoints remastered title. That will be probably be there launch lineup.
i got into gt sport very late... still playing the single player content as we speak so i'm in no rush for a sequel so soon. but yes, it wouldn't be a bad thing to release a new gt game close to launch which is what they did with gt3 on the ps2.
While I absolutely hope its true, the list of launch games I'm interested in is growing every week it seems. Going to start next gen with an instant backlog lol. Guess we'll find out in a few weeks!
No way it will be ready for ps5 launch. Polyphony notorious for being late.
Can they make something like Forza Horizon instead of formal racing? Forza Horizon is much more fun than Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo.
@Speedbump43 True or probably the games is a cross gen games or has been worked the same time frame with GT Sport.
@TVRFLY My understanding is that the 8k will mostly be future proofing for video. But hearing how we may not even get 4k 60fps in AC:Valhalla don't expect 8k games to be a norm or even worth it. 4k tv are cheaper now so get a good big one of those instead.
Wonder if they will do a GT6 and release for PS4 after the PS5 launch
@stefan771 - They already did GT6 on PS3.
I just hope they add a more traditional single player this time. Im all for the multiplayer that was in sport but to be honest, i never stood a chance against some of the racers out there.
Looks like Next Level Racing has already retracted that photo and given a statement saying they apologize for confusion and they were using a mock logo of GT7 that had been circulating online.
no its not. i confirmed with sony. pushsquare tries too hard to get ratings....
Fulfill the GT Sport promise of the entire game in VR and I’m all in.
@TVRFLY absolutely not, these consoles aren't capable of native 8K whilst pushing next gen visuals. In fact higher resolutions are becoming less important anyway and I expect many mecmxt gen games to be using some form of machine learning to hit 4K
@get2sammyb
The fact that it was taken down immediately kind of give some weight to the story.
@TVRFLY The next HDMI standard will enable either 8K 60 frames a second or 4K 120 frames per second. That doesn’t mean the next generation consoles have the power to deliver either. I suspect the situation will be similar to how it was with the PS3 and full HD games. Not impossible but incredibly rare.
@TVRFLY As for now, a 8K TV isn't necessary. You can enjoy next-gen visuals with a 4K TV as for now.
If GT7 is a launch game I may pick up a PS5 @ Day 1 after all!
If Polyphony's focus is on esport, the best way to reach as many gamers as possible is a PS5 patch to GT Sports. They could up the fps or the texture details on the PS5 and still allow online matching across both platforms. I love to see GT 7 but Polyphony's history of delays and the sheer amount of contents from GT 6 will make it hard for them launch the new game this early.
I would be made up if this was a day one purchase with the PS5 what a Christmas that would be
They could perhaps do a prologue release for day one PS5 similar to what they did for PS3 then follow up with the main game at a later point. Not sure prologue was a day one release on PS3 but I seem to remember it was pretty early on (I admit it was a weak entry to the series though).
Probably to draw attention or hype, either go down well or terrible.
EDIT: wouldnt surprise me if they call it GT Sport Prologue.
"Hey I know, lets fake up some logos to put on our latest advert, no one will notice or mind. Lets see, GT7, hmmm that's a good one and there's not really that much buzz around Playstation at the moment..."
Probably sounded like a good idea to the seriously out of touch marketing department.
I believe there's something in this, as they'd definitely be tipped off so they could get some kind of branded products into production, but it took Polyphony 4 years to get a content-lite GT Sport out. Yes, it's a great game now, but that's with years of additional work. They're just too slow at development now compared to studios making rival games.
could be a VERY clever marketing ploy, they know there's rumours of a gt7 ps5 release 🤔 even if they know it's not going to happen, putting that logo in there was always going to draw a lot of attention and get their company name talked about 😉 l honestly hope it's true, it's just the kind of launch title that will really help ps5 come launch, l think this next gen launch is going to have some really decent games, unlike most other launches 😁
Source : 'we dont know anything'
Internet : hmmmmmm 🤔🤔🤔
Nice, I just hope it has great single player carpg like the old game 😃
@Ah-Void lol, then go play Forza, gran turismo has always been a simulator and that's what it's fans want it to be, I played tons of gt2, 3, 4 and 5 but for some reason completely skipped Sport so I'm looking forward to 7 being again what GT has always been in the past but better
I like the logo, real or not
My hype will reach dangerous levels next month if Sony drop some Gran Turismo on us.
I wish they would make 7 just like GT3 A spec because that was the best game they ever did. Played 4 but didn't like it got boring and the b spec driver thing was annoying as hell
If it is a launch game then that will secure my preorder!! Bring it on
If it's on PS5 it means the PS4 will be the first Playstation ever that didn't get a fully fledged Gran turismo game.
Plus every generation of Playstation console got at least 2 Gran turismo games.
I think it's very exciting that we are kept hanging and we should find out soon. Personal I hope it's on PS4.
Is this article still debating the validity of the PlayStation 5 logo? Are we still pondering this one uninteresting detail?
Dear christ... 🤣
@Ken_Kaniff Are you always this negative? Cheer up.
Years ago Polyphony said they made all their assets (cars, circuits, etc) in a very high poly count as to not have to remake them for PS5. I think Gran Tourismo will be day one on the PS5.
@Ah-Void well they had Driveclub, and they they canned it. They also had Tourist Trophy, which was just GT with sports bikes but still something.
Forza Horizon is great because it successfully replaced PGR as that arcade focused racer. PlayStation should do to establish a arcade racer, but honestly any exclusive that isn't story focused doesn't seem to do well on that platform, which is probably why they canned a lot of other IPs and studios
@InsertUsername I'm not always negative. If you look at my post history I say alot of positive things, but if I dont like something or feel a certain way I just say it.
@Ken_Kaniff Sure, sure.
This is completely unprofessional. Mocking up a logo for a game that doesn’t exist to get views on social media.
