Star Wars EA

Despite the fact that it no longer has a monopoly on the Star Wars license when it comes to video games, EA has reiterated that it will continue making titles set in a galaxy far, far away. Following on from a number of announcements earlier today — including one from Ubisoft stating that it's making an open world Star Wars game — EA took to Twitter in order to confirm its current situation.

The tweet comes off as a bit desperate given the circumstances, but it's important to remember that the publisher still has a number of Star Wars projects in the works. It's likely that we'll be seeing another EA Star Wars title hit store shelves before anything else.

That said, it's hard not to feel as though EA has squandered its exclusive deal over the years. The two Star Wars Battlefront games that it pumped out were decent, but both of them were derailed by some significant issues. On top of that, the more recent Star Wars: Squadrons failed to make any kind of lasting impact. But hey, at least Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is really good.
