The Game Awards always features some kind of musical performance, and 2021's event will be no different. Geoff Keighley and his team have somehow convinced Sting — of The Police fame — to sing us a song from Arcane. For those who might not know, Arcane is a highly rated and recently released animated Netflix show based on the immensely popular PC MOBA, League of Legends.
It's not as bizarre a combination as you might think, however. Sting actually sings on the official Arcane soundtrack, on a song called What Could Have Been. You can have a cheeky listen below, in preparation for the live version.
So yeah, you're getting Sting at The Game Awards this year. A good choice? Let us know if you'll be staying up until 3AM to watch this one in the comments section below.

Me when Geoff Keighley introduces Sting at 3:30AM UK time and we still have two hours of this sh*t left
I can't stand LoL but I've heard nothing but amazing things about this show. Really tempted to watch it.
I really like Sting but, unlike a lot of gamers it seems, I have no interest in Artists, bands or actors being involved with games. In fact, all the stuff with Keanu, and others, being involved in Cyberpunk, put me off buying it long before it became the shower of excrement pulled from the store.
I guess I'm in the minority, either way, I like him but no, not excited.
Hate LoL honestly but the show has been great so far. Watching Sting sing a song at an awards show for video games is going to be strange, we’ve sure come a long way.
Show is absolute quality. Convincing me to get the Ruined King at some point. The world has a lot of potential. Forget the main LoL game though
Well hey, I’m basically free after Monday so I’ll definitely be right there in the early hours of the morning yawning to Sting. Not because I’m tired, just because it’s Sting.
What a strange world. If you would’ve told me fifteen years ago that Sting would be singing a song from a Netflix show based on a free to play PC/mobile game, I would’ve thought you’d be crazy. Bizarre combo all around. Got to admit I miss gaming being a more niche hobby sometimes!
Arcane s1 is one of the best shows I've ever seen. Chills just thinking about this song at the end of the season.
All the gamer kids love Sting
No interest in the MOBA, but man did Arcane catch me by surprise. I can't stop thinking about it after finishing this past weekend.
If I ever loooooooose my faith in games, there'd be nothing left for me to do.
@Eldritch I'm even more extreme than you. With these events, I skip the event itself and just watch the trailers/announcements from news websites an hour after they end.
Even if you hate LoL, do yourself a favor and watch Arcane. It's a masterpiece
it has the most beautiful animation i ever seen . i dont watch it though
@ShogunRok — of The Police fame —
Why do I feel like half the people who know Sting now don't even know who the Police are?
I'll probably be watching. But I will definitely watch Arcane, Netflix animated stuff has just been superb. Several shows I'm hoping return soon, that I enjoyed!
Arcane is one of the best series I’ve ever watched. The animation is absolutely gorgeous and the music is spot on. It has been playing on my mind ever since finishing it. An absolute masterpiece.
As a MAJOR League fan (I hate myself though) I would highly recommend Arcane to everyone, even if you don't know League. It's not only a good show but a true masterpiece and a beautiful work of media art.
Yay some old guy who probably doesn’t even play video games.. I grew up liking 2 of their songs.. oh well, at least it’s not as dumb as Ariana Grande or as dangerous as Travis Scott lol
Great, by the time Sting performs. Here in the UK will be a brand new day.
Not a LoL player or fan, but season 1 of Arcane was awesome. All 9 episodes are available now and the story, characters, voice acting, animation...I am beyond impressed. I'm just pissed that there are only 9 episodes! That cliffhanger ending!
"Sting — of The Police fame"
I have not laughed so hard in a long time... dude... it's not 1985 so that you need to explain to people who Sting is in relation to the band he just left to release his first solo album. Wake up, dude! Wake up. It's 2021
Also, not that anyone knows any other Sting in music, I mean c'mon... "Sting — of The Police fame" what an arcane way to introduce him. Ooooh, wait...
@AFCC yup! The show is great, dude, but as a PSA to uninitiated potential League gamers:
DON'T start playing League after watching Arcane. It ain't it.
Stay away, you'll thank me later.
I like Sting. He doesn't drink coffee, he takes tea and he likes his toast done on one side.
@RBMango i can't stand any aspect of LoL either. But i watched the show, and god... I enjoyed it greatly!
@ShadowofSparta Ironically LOL success is kinda what made Arcane a thing in the first place, but yeah the latter has way more room for plot.
@TheDudeElDuderino YES, DON'T DO IT. You will be miserable if you start playing, guys!
