Well, it's all but confirmed now: Final Fantasy XVI is almost certainly going to be a headline act at The Game Awards next week. The fast-approaching event has confirmed that celebrated director Naoki Yoshida will be a guest host during the show, where he'll present a "very special live presentation".
Rumours of Final Fantasy XVI getting a release date at Geoff Keighley's annual shindig have been doing the rounds for weeks now, and it's fair to assume that it's probably happening. After all, a date announcement would give Square Enix around six months of room for a marketing blitz, with the action RPG currently targeting a summer 2023 window.
