Cyberpunk 2077 fans have been anticipating a new patch for the open world RPG since the end of last year. Update 2.1, which launched on the 5th December, brought some major additions like a working metro system, new romance events, and replayable races — but it also introduced a handful of fresh bugs.
CD Projekt Red has already stated that it's aware of some issues — like various melee weapon animations not triggering — and so everyone's expecting a new update to drop sooner rather than later. And now, Cyberpunk 2077's SteamDB tracker has noted numerous updates to the game's internal database, suggesting that said update will arrive in the very near future.
Generally speaking, patches tend to release on Tuesdays — so there's a chance that 2077's bug-busting update will land later today (and if that does happen, we'll be sure to update this article). But if not, we're probably looking at next week.
Have you spotted any notable bugs while playing the latest version of Cyberpunk 2077? Prepare to welcome your gory finishers back in the comments section below.

I hope they take notes from Capcom and add a 3rd person and VR mode.
@tameshiyaku It would be very hard to add a 3rd person mode when the entire game has been designed for a 1st person view.
Playing Cyberpunk at the moment and I'm enjoying it but I got more glitches in my first 2 hours of Cyberpunk than I did in my entire 256 hour run of BG3.
Main menu crashes 50% of the time, animation glitches, can't pick up phone sometimes, gigs get stuck, goes on and don't close...Still good game though in spite of all that.
Dear CDPR, i loved CP2077, it's a fantastic atmospheric game with a cool story to it. Unfortunately, i'm not able to enjoy gaming on a flat screen as i used to. VR crippled that badly, bigtime. Bringing CP to the VR community would make you the VR GOAT of all time instantly, we're craving for something deep, expansive and engaging. Skyrim VR is still king of the hill in my book , playing that for 5 years now non-stop. I need a different setting to get hopelessly lost in real bad, and what's more divisive and refreshing than from the civilzations of old to the dystopian metropoles of the future? It could be PSVR 2's ultimate killer app for the entire generation and the escapism-dream of many.. Please make it a reality! Now back to dragonslaying
Hopefully they fix the bug about that certain fixer that is nowhere to be found after completing all the gigs.
@DennisReynolds VR would work perfectly with the game's first person roots, at least in my simple mind
I saw Reed in the papers today talking about knife crime.
Bug I had playing Cyberpunk during missions where getting Songbird out if the stadium the guns glitch V no longer holding the guns floating makes it very hard to aim and shoot happened again at the space port only way get rid of the glitch get killed load at the last check point anyone had this happen
@GuttyYZ are you playing on PS5? I am about 25 hours in on this playthrough and have had very few bugs, the only one I can think of was a Cyberpsycho getting stuck on top of a car so it made it really easy to finish them off. Have not had any of the problems you mention other than the occasional animation glitch
Hope they add 4d, and water effects that come out my tv and smoke effects and maybe even smell-o-vision.... that would really make a game pop
@GuttyYZ I hope they haven't made a few steps backwards as I last played after the 1.5 update and I was hooked for a good 20+ hours without many bugs that I recall. Hopefully you've just been a bit unlucky or maybe it's worth a fresh save if you're not too far in?
I get bugs but not game breakers. Mostly they're funny...People sliding instead of walking, people walking around naked for no reason, people falling out of the sky for no reason...
Im guessing that they are talking about the finishers not doing their cinematic attacks and just a regular attack.
@Logonogo I'm playing on ps5 yeah. Perhaps I've been unlucky, still, most of them can be solved with loading the save again - they are just way more numerous than I was expecting.
@GuttyYZ crazy that our experiences have differed that much, that sounds like the state it was in closer to launch. sorry to hear it
@GuttyYZ have you definitely got it updated to the latest version? Those issues sound far too numerous and often for the build now.
I'm 33hrs in on this playthrough and experienced 2 open world janky animation glitches that's to be expected in a game like this.
Even my ps4 version at release didn't crash on the main menu or have issues answering the phone
My only bugs on ps5 are Greed never pays gig I cannot enter the wired head braindance club and as result cannot complete wakakos gigs and when I reload my progress after shutting the game down I have to add all my icons on the custom map as they keep resetting to none
@GuttyYZ Have you tried deleting the save in game and making a new save file? I know on Xbox this works sometimes for problems like this. Perhaps at PS5 as well?
@Smooshy Smelling Night City would be an experience.
Probably a very bad experience. But an experience none the less...
@GuttyYZ I started a week before Christmas and I'm like 110 hours into it and I'm not experiencing what you are either.
I've had my guns mess up twice where they like floating above my arms and had it hard crash about 4 or 5 times, but that's it for bad bugs.
The only other ones I've had were when I called my car and it fell out of the sky and landed in the sea and one of the enemies doing a T-pose. Haha
@Smooshy Excellent satire about unrealistic gamer expectations. It's amazing we've all had so many great open world games in the past two decades, considering how hard they are to make...
Im on ps5, have over a 100 hours and no bugs almost, except sometimes a pedestrian animation glitch like floating etc.
@Terra_Custodes It will be if you play now. The game is solid. 'mind blowing' might be setting your own expectations a little too high... but jump into night city, you'll have a blast
