A new trailer for Tower of Fantasy dev Hotta Studio’s anime-inspired GTA gacha game Neverness to Everness has debuted at Tokyo Game Show, and you could be looking at PS5’s next big thing here. It’s clear the Chinese studio has pulled together everything that’s popular for this project: there are elements of Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero, Persona, and the aforementioned GTA all on display.
The release will be powered by Unreal Engine 5, and will boast ray tracing and other fancy visual features. It’ll also be free-to-play, and will feature a character action combat system, as well as open world exploration and even light life sim elements. It’s trying to be everything for everyone all at once, which is a bold ambition – but it’ll be impressive if it pulls it off.

“NTE unfolds in a unique world where the ordinary and extraordinary coexist – a city teeming with anomalies and humans alike,” the press release reads. “As players, you will make a grand entrance into this city, employing your extraordinary Esper abilities to navigate and tackle the unexpected anomalies that await. NTE also offers a variety of lifestyles for the players to choose from: modify sports cars, manage businesses, and experience a vibrant urban life in the way you like.”
There’s no release date attached to the title, but pre-registration is open on the title’s website. What are your thoughts on this trailer? Is this game on your radar at all, or do you already have your hands full with various other gacha games? Let us know in the comments section below.

“Gacha” game”
Anddddddddd I’m out, this will only be the future of whales and their bank statements 👍🏼
What about Concorde being PS5's next big thing? Oh wait...
Free to play, nah I’m gud
Argh that would look awesome if it would be a real game.
Feel like I had an epilepsy attack watching that trailer, but it does look pretty awesome!
I was vaguely interested until they got to the combat and I saw the character switching and figured it was gacha. Then it just kind of seemed like Zenless Zone Zero to me, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but eh...
Gacha crap yet again.
It's been a while since I've heard such a terrible name for a game😂
It took the industry this long to arrive at an animesque driving open-worlder with a cockpit camera... and it's a freemium with no TGS mention of the one console that truly prints money in Japan. Oh well, at least it will be a must check on Deck unless the publisher pulls a region lock or some Linux-allergic anticheats out of their sleeve.
I like anime & GTA but this just doesn't looks interesting. It feels like there's something missing...
"The next big thing" is the kiss of death for any product. Concord, concorde, New Coke, Betamax, laser disc, minidisc... history is absolutely littered with examples.
Did it have to be a gatcha game? Seems like it has so many things going for it.
I think I'd rather way for the real anime gta in project mugen tbh. This doesn't look that bad but I just couldn't get into tower of fantasy at all. So I'm not really hyped for this knowing the devs
Unless Persona 5 X gets a PS4/PS5 Port and translated into English (including a DUB) I have ZERO interest in any "Gacha" game 🤷♂️
So, it's a bit like Twilight Princess in that you get 2 different realities with a similar layout? Sounds cool, but these games take either a lot of money or 7 years of your time to finish, I never got past Inazuma because I was always kept busy hunting chests and doing side content, trying to level and WITH spending real money here and there, too. It started to get difficult and I started to get burned out and never returned.
None of the driving scenes showed interface graphics and even had a skip scene button as if cutscenes. So doesn't look like driving is a big part of it. So not really GTA like at all. I didn't really anything else about it so dunno.
Its such a shame really. Some of these games look like theyre pushing anime games further with their animations and gameplay but just F it all up with the gacha stuff. Even tho something like ZZZ has wonderful animation and very cool characters, the grind and simple combat sooner or later become stale and tiring
Looks really disappointingly bland I happy it's free to play so I can avoid it like the plague.
This will be a mess. Hotta are a sub par dev team. ToF had potential but it's pretty awful at almost everything it tries to do. Got zero faith this will turn out to be even half decent.
In what way is this inspired by gta? I didn’t see anything in the footage that resembles it.
@LifeGirl kiss of death is one good way to put it, and a mildly too. This is already in the afterlife.
