It Really Sounds Like the Next Glut of Big PS5 Reveals Is Coming Soon 1

Sony will hold a major PlayStation briefing this month, according to Giant Bomb tipster Jeff Grubb. The reliable reporter has been beating this drum for some time, and doubled down on the rumour during a podcast overnight, stressing the show is still very much on track for “this month apparently”. He added: “Whether it's next week or the week after I honestly don't know. [It] could be the end of the month, but I won't be surprised if this does actually happen next week. It could happen at any moment.”

PlayStation runs a tight ship these days, and leaks coming out of the company are rare, but we know from past experience that Sony usually hosts some kind of major livestream during the summer. Last year it opted to get out in front of the Summer Game Fest chaos by sharing its plans in May, so if Grubb’s accurate then it looks set to revisit that strategy this year.

With titles like Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade already released, the upcoming list of PS5 exclusives is looking a little light again. Sony will want to take this opportunity to provide updates on in-development projects like Marvel’s Wolverine, while also announcing some new titles as well. Remember, the PS5 Pro is also strongly rumoured to release later this year, so it might want to share the first details on that during this hypothetical broadcast as well.
