LOVEFiLM Is Available Now On British PlayStation 3 Consoles.

Scroll to the Video section of the XMB and — what's this? — the LOVEFiLM icon's already there!? Apparently the magic Sony ninjas broke into everyone's house last night and installed the application onto our PS3s. Or something. Pretty neat not having to install a patch though, right?

For those who don't know, LOVEFiLM is essentially the British alternative to Netflix. It allows movie streaming direct from the PlayStation 3 for a small subscription fee (starting at £5.99 a month). Even nicer is that there's a 30-day free trial available to anyone who signs up through the XMB, so you can check it all out before you spend a penny.

There's more information about this on the PlayStation Blog. To be honest we're pretty excited. This is a big deal for the UK market and we're surprised it's not getting more coverage.
