S'up Raccoon City?

The reports seemingly confirm rumours we'd heard earlier in the year.

According to CVG, the team-based shooter puts teams of four-players in charge of clearing away any evidence from the Resident Evil 2-era outbreak. The game features multiple factions, including the Hunk-inspired USS and bio-organic weapon monsters (BOWs) created by Umbrella. The USS team is made up of Vector, Beltway, Bertha, and Spectre — all of which will have different responsibilities in the team.

The report notes that the game will feel "dirty", and is apparently darker than previous Resident Evil titles. Most intriguing are details that you'll be able to change Resident Evil history. One cited example includes an encounter with Leon Kennedy in which you can choose to kill him.

The game's due out on PlayStation 3 at the end of the year.
