E3 2011: Insomniac Games Announce EA Partners Project, Four-Player Co-Op Shooter Named Overstrike

There's the charm of Ratchet & Clank mixed in with the grit of Resistance in Insomniac's first EA Games published project

Insomniac Games Has Revealed Its New EA Published Title, Overstrike.

Entitled Overstrike, the c0-op based title looks like a tongue-in-cheek take on the shooter genre — with chunky, cartoony characters teaming up in a colourful world.

The game's reveal — shown moments ago at EA's E3 press conference — didn't include any gameplay, but showed just enough to offer a taste of the new IP.

Overstrike presents a unique blend of features that have long been a part of the Insomniac DNA: high powered gadgets, action-heavy gameplay, memorable characters in a deep and mysterious universe and of course a touch of humor, said Insomniac CEO, Ted Price.

And since this is our first multiplatform game, were especially excited to introduce ourselves to a new audience one which may not have experienced our previous games.

No launch date yet. Don't expect to see much more of the game until after Resistance 3 and Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One. We're guessing it's still pretty early.
