The game was announced moments ago at a special press event in London.
The downloadable title's set to be a slight departure for the MotorStorm series, promising "a perfect combination of classic racing with really modern connectivity features". Launching on both PS3 and PS Vita, MotorStorm RC will offer the same cross-platform compatibility that's become a headline feature for so many other upcoming PlayStation titles.
Even better, MotorStorm RC looks to set a precedent for future cross-platform releases, with both versions of the game being available for a single price-point. In summary: if you buy the PS3 version, you'll get the PS Vita version too (and vice versa).
All eight of MotorStorm's familiar vehicle categories are set to make an appearance, across 16 unique tracks based on four favourite locations.
"Experience the simultaneous challenge and excitement of racing in the worlds most extreme environments, from the dusty desert mesas of Monument Valley, to the dangerous jungles of a Pacific island, to the icy tundra at the Arctic Edge, to the apocalyptic ruins of an urban city," reads the official blurb.
The game's also set to sport an Autolog immitator that will track your progress across various disciplines and keep tabs of your friend's activity, regardless of platform.
There's a debut trailer after the jump. For more details head over to the PlayStation Blog.
