Well, that show was a waste of time.
No mention of the Dragon Dogma 2 stuff?
Edit: I see its now been added.
@MidnightDragonDX i can't believe they didn't show resident evil 9 , dmc 6 , dino crisis remake , monster hunter world 2 , and code veronica remake.
@Mio_Nakashima it was the same with the Devolver event, weird that it was skipped so much in the media
@LazyLombax might not see that until next year when capcom inevitably announces re4 remake gold edition.
Dragon's Dogma 2 was like the only really solid thing from the showcase imo.
@LazyLombax i think they want to finish the vr part then hopefully separate ways dlc
I never have anything to say at Capcom ones. Dragon's Dogma 2 maybe but even then......... I will say Ghost Trick was a surprise but otherwise not sure. If were talking oh their IPs seem fine in what their doing then yeah. I don't engage with them so I can't say much but still are their events worth it eh don't know.
Like I have MH Rise and it's fine not my thing (takes up most of my Switch storage in 'updates' and that's it and I'm only going off physical carts here) I've jumped in a few times. Most of their stuff currently is not for me and that's fine they are for everyone else but I'm trying with some of their IPs to see what does stick out then just from a distance going nah it isn't for me really.
Like I bought RE5/6 on PS3 cheap second hand out of curiosity I'm not a horror (I know those entries are action more so I'm aware and I've tried RE1 via PS Classic)/zombie type games but I have some (I got 6 because of it's cinematic nonsense and if the moves in it are cool to use, haven't been able to pull them off really yet).
In terms of games I'd 'actually' buy and play from Capcom were talking I already got all Lost Planet games, Under the Skin, Godhand (I mean it's camera angle isn't exactly Ryse Son of Rome, Hellblade or God of War modern but still it'd kind of fit in besides the other stuff in it).
Maybe PN03 I'll get around to at some point physical then 'looking into it'. Otherwise yes legacy titles and many others I probably haven't covered yet. Then again what backwards compatibility Xbox, GameCube or PS2 or otherwise have we not seen ever.
@twitchtvpat I was expecting one of those at least.
@Mio_Nakashima thanks for telling us. Going to watch it later today.
To be honest, not surprised what was shown. I rather have them not announce something then have the game disappear for 2-3 years because they announce something too early. Let Capcom cook, they’re one of the few devs that are actually releasing banger after banger as of late and not being a broken mess. The Capgods do be back
Capgod? More like Capbored. I fell asleep.
Where's Deep Down?
In all seriousness though, I think Capcom deserve a bit of a rest. They've been releasing bangers all over the place for several years. I'm ok to wait for Pragmata. I hope we get some sprinklings of re-releases and remasters while we wait though
@Mio_Nakashima Sadly the media are mostly directed by what we - as a whole not as individuals - consume and engage with. They will have their data and sadly those things get clicks and engagement. Plus at this busiest time of year they have to pick and choose what to report.
Same as companies. Look at Sonys latest financials new games were down 10% YoY but MTX, DLC and live services were up 210%. We - you and I and some enthusiasts here - might not like it, but they know where their main market is.
The skill is trying to appease all sides enough to keep them happy enough that they don’t leave.
Dragon's Dogma 2 looks epic I'm mostly excited for that
Capcom disappointed me because I really was excited for them to show something hype for their 40th anniv. Maybe for the TGAs come December?
On the other hand I thought Ubi's showcase was ok because I didn't expect much from them: not a star wars fan, not an Avatars fan (but it did pick my interest more), Prince of Persia, as good as it looked, just felt like a step back for the series.
Game to game, Capcom wins hands down. Dragon's Dogma 2 would have been a showstopper if it hadn't been revealed at Sony's showcase.
@GodofCapcom except none of those are realistic I doubt they’ll announce anything with monster hunter till the rise expansion is out and re4 remake just came out so I doubt they would announce a new re game that soon.
@twitchtvpat
I was expecting a glimpse on world 2. Usually they announce it pretty soon after the last dlc. I think it will happen next year.
Hopefully pragmata and dragons dogma 2 are 2024.
The only game there of any interest is dragon's dogma 2. You would have thought they would be flexing their IPs all over the place really but apart from the above game it's dull city . Screw multiplayer / gaas games.
No final fight no surprise!!
Urgh Exoprimal just looks terrible! Much rather have Dino crisis remake or reboot series!
Whilst the lack of any hoped for Dino Crisis remake is probably a disappointment, its a shame that there hasn't been at least an attempt to bring Dino Crisis 1 & 2 to the PS Classics range!😕
Still,as a fan of the Ace Attorney series,I'm equally shocked & happy to find most of them being available on ps4/5 gens. At this rate think what, maybe only the Miles Edgeworth ones (& the sequel was never officially translated),won't have been ported?
Likewise Ghost Trick was never widely available my neck ofvtge woods,so like the Sherlock Holmes inspired Ace Attorney game,it'll be a new experience to give it a go!
So maybe a bit of a let down for AAA releases, but great if you're a fan of the Ace Attorney games!👍
I'm looking forward to playing all 6 games eventually. Though none of them will be day one purchases/pre-orders for various reasons.
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective - June 30, 2023
Exoprimal - July 14, 2023
Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy - TBA 2024
