Death Stranding 2 PS5 Will 'Come Out Next Year', Crazy Photo Mode Revealed 1

Update: In the aftermath of his Tokyo Game Show presentation, Hideo Kojima has released the English language cinematics debuted during the show. You can watch all three below:

Kojima also confirmed that his team has a release date set and “production is progressing towards that goal”. As translated by Gematsu, he added: “There are various factors that could affect the timing of the release. We’ve said 2025, so it will come out next year. The release date will be announced sometime next year.”

Original Article: Legendary developer Hideo Kojima brought the craziness to Tokyo Game Show today, as part of his widely anticipated Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Special Stage livestream. With an extended 90-minute runtime, he debuted various previously unseen scenes from the game, including footage of Elle Fanning’s character Tomorrow and Shioli Kutsuna’s Rainy.

A subtitled version of the livestream is expected to be released in the future, but a large part of the broadcast appeared to focus on the game’s Japanese voice actors, who are obviously dubbing the English cast. As previously announced, Mad Max director George Miller will cameo as a character in the game, named Tarman.

One particularly mind-blowing sequence showed off the game’s Photo Mode, where Lea Seydoux and the aforementioned Fanning and Kutsuna will pose for you. It looks as absurd as you’d expect.

Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn, who plays Heartman in the Death Stranding games, came on stage to declare his love for Kojima – and noted the pair often talk about politics, philosophy, family, and love.

Elsewhere, clothing brand Acronym announced a line of real-life jackets, which will also appear in the game. These have a pretty neat feature, allowing you to strap the clothing over your shoulder when you’re too warm to wear it. No more tying the coat around your waist.

Elsewhere, singer Daichi Miura – who’s written a lot of music for a variety of animes, including Dragon Ball Super: Broly – performed a song from the game, called Horizon Dreamer. You’ll be able to stream that on Spotify and other music streaming platforms from 30th September.
