You can feel it in the air, can't you? The distinct tingle of hype, the sense that we're in the calm before the storm. It's the same kind of excitement that used to permeate the web ahead of E3, but this time, we're all looking forward to the PlayStation Showcase, which airs next week, on the 24th May.
The expectations for this long, long, long awaited event are sky high, and while we're slightly concerned that Sony won't be able to match the hype, nothing can stop us from posting some (potentially very misguided) predictions.
And so we've rounded up the Push Square editorial team to talk about what they'd like to see from the PlayStation Showcase. Let's hope they don't end up looking like complete idiots!

The Last of Us Factions 2 will be fully announced. Fans of the original Factions multiplayer have been waiting many moons for this, and I think we’re long overdue a reveal for this secretive multiplayer project. But I’ll go one step further and put my tinfoil hat on: I think we could get a release date alongside a reveal that’s not only this side of 2023, but just weeks away. With the franchise’s popularity at an all-time high thanks to the Part I remake and HBO show, and the 10th anniversary of the PS3 release landing just weeks after the Showcase, it seems like too good an opportunity to miss.
SUPER… HOT!!! Need I say more? We know that the PSVR2 will be a big part of the upcoming Showcase, and I can’t think of a better way to amp up the VR masses than with the announcement of a PSVR2 upgrade to one of the most critically acclaimed titles to ever grace the medium. I mean seriously, why was SUPERHOT not there from day one!?!
Naughty Dog will announce its next project. Fingers and toes are crossed on this one, but it’s been three years since the launch of Naughty Dog’s last project, The Last of Us: Part II. And while yes, I’m praying that we get its multiplayer Factions game this year too, I think now would be a great time to at least tease what’s next from a single-player perspective. The Last of Us: Part II was revealed four years before its release, so I think we could expect something similar here… hopefully.

We'll be forced to endure more Final Fantasy XVI gameplay footage. I think Final Fantasy fans, at this point, have seen enough, especially considering the game is out next month. Despite that (or perhaps because of it), Square Enix will force feed us all one more unwanted and extended gawk at the legitimately phenomenal-looking sixteenth mainline entry.
Sony Santa Monica teases something new. We know that the God of War Ragnarok dev has "a lot of different things" going on, and it doesn't seem likely we see Kratos or Atreus again for a while. I think we get shown something new instead, perhaps whatever SIE head honcho Herman Hulst was so pleased about. It's a long shot, but hey, dare to dream!
Death Stranding 2 is shown, and it's weirder than ever. We get our first glimpse of Kojima's next effort, and it's outrageously strange, making the massed beach whales and angelic apparitions of the first game seem common. Weirdness is often in the eye of the beholder, so let's say the prediction is that we see a teaser trailer of some description. Who knows, maybe those Sony staffers at Kojima Productions were getting a sneak peek?

The Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake is real, but there's more. Following all the reliable reports from industry journalists, I'm pretty confident this remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is indeed a thing, and we'll see it announced during the PlayStation Showcase. It'll look outstanding, and I'm already pencilling in a 10/10 rating for when I review it. However, I hope there's more. They don't have to be full-blown remakes, but I want to be able to play Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty on my PS5 with Trophy lists. Ports, remasters, whatever they are — just make it happen, Konami.
Honkai: Star Rail gets a PS5, PS4 release date. A turn-based JRPG that's also a Game as a Service that'll be updated for years sounds pretty incredible to me, and everything I hear about Honkai: Star Rail sounds fantastic, so I want to join the craze as soon as possible. We know PS5, PS4 versions are in development, and off the back of Genshin Impact's popularity, I think this JRPG alternative is big enough to warrant a presence in the PlayStation Showcase.
A new indie game quietly becomes the star of the show. For as good as Sony's first-party studios are, it's kind of predictable what they're all working on. You can't say the same for the indie space. I reckon a new indie game — in the same vein as Kena: Bridge of Spirits or Sifu — is going to come along and sweep us off our feet with an incredible debut showing. If I had to throw a name out, I'll hope for Limbo, Inside developer Playdead to finally reveal what it's been working on. The great thing about indies, though, is quality can come from pretty much anywhere. I think one project Sony decides to spotlight will jump to the top of our most wanted list.

Capgod announces Monster Hunter World 2. We all know it's coming, it's just a question of when. I was torn between predicting this sequel and a Dragon's Dogma 2 trailer, but I think it's still too early for the latter (unfortunately). But yeah, Monster Hunter World 2 is inevitable, and modern Capcom doesn't really wait around. This'll be a sequel with a vague 2024 launch window, and its reveal trailer will showcase a truly gorgeous looking game. I'm tempted to say it'll be fully open world — that'll be the gimmick — but I'm struggling to convince myself.
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name gets one of the show's best trailers. It might just be filling the gap until Like a Dragon 8 is ready, but I have seriously high hopes for RGG Studio's next title. The return of Kazuma Kiryu (as a main character) surely warrants a top-tier trailer, and I think we're getting one, alongside a... hmmm, I'll say September release date.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink finally gets a specific release date. Fantastic looking action RPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink is currently down as a PS5 and PS4 console exclusive, and it's still pegged for a 2023 launch. If it really is coming out this year, then it feels like the PlayStation Showcase is the place to make it official. Adding a bit more weight to this is the fact that publisher and developer Cygames recently established new offices in the US and Europe — strongly suggesting that it's gearing up behind the scenes. I feel like it's either this or Summer Game Fest, so I'll take the 50/50 bet!

Marvel’s Wolverine reminds you it's real. I obviously expect the vast majority of Insomniac Games’ attention and energy to be invested into Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 during this PS Showcase, but I think we’ll get a reminder that Marvel’s Wolverine is on the way. I’m banking on a short teaser trailer to set the tone, which I expect to be extremely dark. I think we’ll see a panning shot of Logan’s bloody claws before the game arches up and reveals his face, partially obscured by shadows, and a logo. There’ll be no date or target release window, but it’ll be enough to serve as a reminder that PS5 still has some very big guns out on the horizon as well.
Bloodborne is back. We know, from a commercial perspective, that the likes of Horizon, God of War, and of course Marvel's Spider-Man are Sony’s big money makers. But there’ll never be a crowd-pleaser quite like Bloodborne. Sony will be aware of this – it made the decision to remake Demon’s Souls after all – and I think we’ll see Bloodborne make a comeback at last during this showcase. Whether it’s a simple 4K, 60fps remaster or a full-blown Bluepoint rebuild I’m not sure, but I think this will finally be Bloodborne’s moment. Oh, and for the console purists among you, prepare yourself: I think whatever this turns out to be will also be available on PC.
Stellar Blade quietly steals the show. It’s going to be really difficult for the other games in this PS Showcase to step out of the shadow of juggernauts like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but I’m quietly confident Stellar Blade is finally going to get its breakout moment. Many seem to have slept on the news that Sony is now publishing this debut console effort from Korean developer Shift Up, but having recently embarrassed myself by getting addicted to the studio’s undeniably pervy Gears of War-style mobile cover shooter NIKKE, I honestly think this is going to end up being one to watch. (Just be careful where you’re looking!)

Rogue Legacy 2 will finally be confirmed for release on PlayStation. My fellow editors will be bored to tears of me bringing up this game; I've been hoping and praying it makes the leap to PS5 and PS4 since its early access days. It's now available on everything else, and I think it's high time this hit Sony's platforms. The original Rogue Legacy was a firm favourite of mine back in the day, and everything I've seen of the sequel suggests it's bigger and better in every conceivable way — save for the fact it won't be releasing on Vita, that is. Anyway, I think the timing is about right, and developer Cellar Door has alluded to a port happening, so fingers crossed.
It's time for Team Asobi to reveal its hand. Astro's Playroom, the free pack-in game installed on every PS5, is an utter delight. It might be short, and technically more of a demo than a "real" game, but it's borderline magical while it lasts. Team Asobi has really hit on something with its cute little robot mascot — Astro Bot Rescue Mission on PSVR is also incredible — and I think it's fair to say the developer will stick with him for its next title. Whether it's a return to virtual reality on PSVR2, a full-blown flat screen PS5 adventure, or even a little of both, I have the utmost confidence in what Team Asobi is making. It's been two and a half years since PS5 launched, so I think now would be about right to see what's next from this imaginative Japanese dev.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 launches 20th October, 2023. The vast majority of Sony's major games launch on a Friday, and it's been confirmed the game is heading for a release date in Fall of this year. At this point, I don't see them delaying; I think the game is locked in for the end of 2023. Moreover, it'll hit at that perfect proximity to the holiday season: far enough out that fans will buy it day one without hesitation, but close enough that it'll go on thousands of Christmas lists. I could've picked any date for this prediction, but honestly, I went with 20th October because it just looks and sounds nice. I can imagine 20/10/23 (or 10/20/23 across the pond) at the end of the trailer. This is far too specific, isn't it? If I'm right, you all owe me a biscuit.
Now that we've got our predictions in writing, it's time for you to do the same. Feel free to discuss our madness and then post your own hype-blinded expectations in the comments section below.

The MGS collection is real, it will be a 2 part collection. One featuring Solid Snake's games and the other with Big Boss' games.
Metal Gear Solid 3 remake would make me a very happy man
I think there's a decent chance they'll stealth drop a demo for FF16. Spider-man 2 is going to crush it. I have no other predictions right now, and that's what really excites me.
@Enuo Aye, an FFXVI demo almost exactly a month before release sounds like serendipitous timing to me. I want to say I'll be strong and not play it, but we all know we shouldn't like to ourselves.
@Athrum please don't get my hopes up for nothing 😅
My Wildcard is a reveal of GenDesigns next game... I need to know what Fumito Ueda and team have been up to?
It also looks like CyGames are re-revealing Project Awakening so that being double billed with Relink sounds good to me.
I'm also ready for that Atlus high fantasy game from the Persona peeps!
Persona 6 and GTA 6, all the 6's.
Better Predictions on here than the PushSquare video on YouTube
All I need is an announcement for Astro Bot Rescue Mission 2 and I’ll be happy with the year.
I cant see some of these happening:
Like a Dragon games - Genuinely think Microsoft will again bizarely have marketing rights to these games and will reveal at their showcase
Death Stranding 2 - will be held back for Geoff as Summer Games Fest
Naughty Dog new game- We'll see factions, but i doubt we'll see what they are cooking up next. Feels like that could be a little way off yet
Santa monica - Less sure on this one, but im not expecting to see the new IP from Cory Barlog yet
The other predictions seem plausible to me (tho i reckon Spiderman may drop in September). I do think we will see FF16 briefly, but it will be for the announcement of the demo drop.
I do wonder if Sony have patched up relations with CDPR and the Cyberpunk dlc will get shown here, although i expect that at Microsoft's show as a more likely destination.
I still think there is a chance GTA 6 shows up here
Interesting predictions for sure, however I think a lot of those are far too optimistic considering Sonys track record of ghosting. They not only havent really had any sort of significant showcase in years, but they have also taken to the trend of not even revealing and then marketing for a title until its like a month or two out from release.
Although we could see some vague teases, i think we will largely see more unwanted FF16 marketing, psvr2, indie and possibly live service filler alongside lame marketing for movie/show tie-ins, then ending the show with a 'samey' underwhelming spiderman 2 showing.
My hope is that some interesting 3rd party games get a some time, and perhaps being surprised by something from Sony, but I suspect much is far off and MOST of it is live service garbo.
There are a few wild card unknowns that we have yet to get clarity on in terms of what a few developers are working on. However, statistically, based on the few comments from Sony, at least half of those would have to be live service projects.
The silver lining here is that we have been fed such sparse and underwhelming showcases over the last two years, that I think most of us have very low expectations, despite the hype and feeding in our predictions to that hype.
These things have been a let-down recently so I'll settle for a good look at the Elden Ring DLC and a new Spyro game.
I'm hoping we see Little Devil Inside shows its face again
I’m hoping for Pragmata and wanting news on Kojima and confirmation about the other big Final Fantasy coming out this year.
Wonder woman.
Silent Hill 2 release date
Alan Wake II release date
Control 2 announcement
Judas gameplay footage
Assassins Creed Mirage
Lollipop Chainsaw remake
Alone in the Dark remake
I’m praying for some LAD Gaiden news if not this showcase, in the coming weeks. After just finishing Yakuza 6 days ago (still need to play the Judgment games), I’m ready to go back to Kiryu’s story already.
I hope Gaiden booms and makes RGG realize they can support both Ichiban (whom I love a ton too) alongside Kiryu in different sagas. The turn base is awesome in LAD 7 but it’d be great to have the regular brawler combat too.
I still think we might see Final Fantasy 9 remake as a tease. FF7 rebirth won't get marketed until 16 is out
@CWill97 given Kiryu seems to be playable in Like a Dragon 8 it will be fascinating to see what they do. The turn based combat is only a figment of ichiban's imagination after all, so you have to assume when you play as Kiryu it will be traditional combat.
@get2sammyb
Nothing to be ashamed about playing Nikke Sammy, as I am also addicted to the game XD. They have quietly created an interesting world in said game, i will not be surprised if they expand the franchise to other avenues.
Hoping for a Stellar Blade presence in the showcase also, so good shout on that prediction.
I want to hear more about Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade.
@get2sammyb publicly admitting to being addicted to a porny anime gacha game wasn't on my 2023 bingo card, but I'll take it nonetheless!
Confirm us that the upcoming VR mode of Resident Evil 4 remake is really the full game, and shadow drop a demo of it the day of the PS Showcase, BOOM! And while you are at it, confirm us a PSVR2 patch for the already released PS5 version of Resident evil 7. Come on Capcom!
And yes, I would hope Astro Bot Rescue Mission 2, released the same day this fall than a remastered PSVR2 version of the first game and with a Ultimate edition as an option including both games. And this time, let us the option to just buy the first game in remastered format from the start.
My big wishes:
Something MGS
Kingdom Hearts 4
New Uncharted (with Nathan's daughter)
Last of Us 3
FFVII rebirth
FF IX remake
Sly raccoon
I'm not asking much, but give me sequels to Tokyo Jungle, M.A.G., Soul Sacrifice, Wipeout, Blood + Truth, Persistence, Motor Storm, Astro Bot Rescue Mission and Siren, all including full VR compatibility, as well as fully VR functional versions of Resistance 1-3, Killzone 2+3, Returnal and Demon's Souls, and in return I'll consider getting a PS5 and PSVR2 soon.
I'm quietly hoping for a new IP that could be Sony's answer to Elder Scrolls or Fable. Something a little more considered and less action orientated. Whilst your predictions are realistic, I can't get excited for more of the same.
@Ralizah I'm ashamed of my words and deeds!
Mainly in it for the excitement of VR, so here are my VR predictions...
Ace combat 8 announced for flat plus entirely playable in VR.
Half life Alyx, although I feel this might be a summer game fest announcement.
Wolverine if shown which I doubt will be playable in VR.
Borderlands 3 announced for VR.
And finally Skyrim updated for psvr2, okay perhaps that is being too unrealistic.
I fully believe there will be atleast TLOU Factions, Spiderman 2, Wolverine and two more playstation studios games shown. What those other two could be is anyone's guess but I think studio bends new game and put first look at firewalks game is a strong possibility.
For Third party I'd expect some heavy hitters all from Japan which are MGS remake, FF7 ReBirth, Ronin, Silent Hill 2 remake, Stellar Blade, Eternights, SynDuality and Pragmata.
For smaller titles I'd expect an Astro game, The Devil Inside and some PSVR2 games that fall under that category.
Also there's a game were all forgetting, it was an horror game called Slitterhead which looked pretty cool.
https://youtu.be/C2wj65MimUc
Naughtydog to reveal 3 games. TLoU2 Factions mp and followed by a decently sized tease for TLoU part3. And then at the end just when we thought Spider-man 2 was to close out the show the Naughtydog logo shows up again revealing a brand new IP. Yhyh I know its unlikely. I'll just be very happy if these MGS rumours come true
@KundaliniRising333 , I get being overly negative about just everything is your whole online shtick, but do you actually enjoy anything related to gaming at all?
It's never confirmed that the majority of Sony's projects are all live service, do you actually have any sources for this or you are just guessing? . They have an equal number of both single player and multiplayer stuff in the works.
Also , TLOU Factions is not " live service filler" lmao, the original multiplayer mode was some of the very best of it's generation.
I think this showcase will be great, considering it's been a long time since we have seen anything. I expect great first party games and some amazing ( and exclusive) third party stuff.
Even Grubb did say that this Showcase would most probably meet everyone 's lofty expectations.
Just picking out some of the titles mentioned in the article:
That's not an unrealistic list and I'd be ecstatic if we just saw one of these.
I wonder if we'll see those PS5 earbuds and the handheld streaming device 🤔
I'm really hoping Stellar Blade gets a release date.
I also fully expect to see Factions in a big way. They gotta take advantage of the current hype around that IP.
Metal Gear Solid 3 will be quite the crowd pleaser if true. The tactical stealth crowd is absolutely STARVED for something!
Other than those I expect at least a few of the live service games we have been hearing about for what feels like ages now. Haven studio should be ready to show something by now if imagine.
Aware to keep expectations in check and all that but I can't help but feel that this coming Wednesday night is gonna be like I'm a 12 year old kid looking forward to his presents on Christmas morning. It's almost those same feels but in adult form
Gonna make some stupid predictions-
Gitaroo Man reboot for the PS5
Gon confirmed for Tekken 8
Final Fantasy ‘dating sim’
Assassins Creed Australia
Persona 6
@Rob_230
Think both Like a dragon and Persona 6 will be at Microsofts show.
When now Sega and Atlus wants money for game they find it strange no Xbox players are buying it.
Dont think they can put new games directly on gamepass with these series.
I’ll throw random ones in there besides new Spider-Man 2 trailer , metal gear 3 remake , but last of us mp will be much more like a full on game with story ect. Maybe not called part 3, but it will be more based around the faction groups then a single character, giving more back story behind the groups , even introducing new groups not featured in the games yet
I'm going for some specific predictions rather then saying game x is revealed etc.
Spider-Man 2 releases in late September, features Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx as new locations.
Death Stranding 2 reveals Elle Fanning's character...seems to hint at multiple locations with large shipping boats been used.
The Last of Us Factions is first game shown, showing multiple players taking on a horde of infected...beta late 2023.
New Uncharted game announced, made by Bluepoint. Will be set in the 60's where you play as Drake's mother.
Twisted Metal by Firesprite shown, will have multiple cars and characters released on a monthly basis with the first season based on the TV show.
Horizon multiplayer game announced for 2024, takes on a more cartoony look, very strong Monster Hunter vibes.
Firewalk's first game revealed...a multiplayer PVE fantasy game releasing on PS5 and PC day one.
Final Fantasy 16 gets final trailer with demo out now.
Mortal Kombat 1 first gameplay shown.
Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake fails to impress (sorry to be a downer lol)
Silent Hill 2 first gameplay revealed.
Castlevania Lords of Shadows remasters announced.
Stellar Blade gets a January 2024 date.
Helldivers 2 announced. It's a 3rd person coop shooter with new locations and missions added on a regular basis.
Iron Man VR, Astro Bot and Wipeout out now for PSV2.
Half Life Alyx for PSVR2 announced...no date.
Santa Monica reveal new IP, has a high fantasy setting.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth gets new teaser, early 2024 date.
@Neverwild Yes, I agree, I think if anywhere they would be at Xbox, given their marketing last year.
P3 remake could be a GP title, I don't know about P6, unless they give a ton of money for it.
Lots of good shouts in the predictions for titles. Personally would love to see a TLOU3 announcement, but I know it won't happen. Lots to look forward to already - Really looking forward to seeing Stellar Blade more.
I'd also like to play all of the mainline MGS games on ps5. The biggest travesty is MGS4 which is languishing on the ps3 but was such a great send off for Solid Snake.
My very toned down, realistic expectations for the first-party:
>Twisted Metal from Firesprite
>Horizon: Zero Dawn remake
>The Last of Us: Factions II
>Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
>Nixxes' next PC port
>Firewalk Studios' project
>Team Asobi's project
It's been 3 years since Ghost of Tsushima, so I think Sucker Punch will announce the inevitable sequel. I'd peg that as a 2024 game. But I imagine it's far along, I can't imagine them not using their existing engine.
I think Sony will start to tip some of their live service cards, beyond just Last of Us MP. Maybe that's the rumored Twisted Metal, which it seems they would want to capitalize on the Peacock show starting this summer.
I don't know what I want out of this show. Sony makes a lot of excellent blockbusters, but I don't want them to totally get stick in their franchise rut - like omg, I want Santa Monica to move on from GoW.
Would love a new first party FPS. Even a new Resistance, which I missed out on during the PS3 days. Preferably single player (or with good single player content), and not live service.
"Capgod announces Monster Hunter World 2. We all know it's coming, it's just a question of when."
This is the way.
The PlayStation showcase is going to be fun and exciting.cant wait For all those games.word up son
Dragon Quest III HD 2D Remake release date
Dragon Quest XII first look
New Ninja Gaiden announcement
Immortals Fenix Rising 2 announcement
New Castlevania game announcement
Persona 6 and KOTOR Remake are my two most anticipated games but I think the first will have an ATLUS showcase. Persona 3 remake is more than welcome ofc
I hope for less sequels and more new games or at least liong dormant games. Everyone's lists seems so boring. Predictable and cookie cutter
@Perturbator finally. Some reasonable expectations.
The fewer remakes, the better. Anything new would be much appreciated.
I think Sony was holding back because of Sony fighting with Microsoft over Activision acquisition. Sony did not want to seem like they have big games without Activision. Now that it is over, I have high expectations to see what Sony has been hiding.
Death Stranding 2 submarine and aerial footage. Whistling. Character reveals?
MGS 2 minutes of next gen ladder footage
Wolverine a very violent or impactful image of some sort. (they did the biker bar tease, which was enough to hype me so much for this as a game) maybe a hint of gameplay in a very controlled setting. Or another character tease to give us an idea of the timescale/universe and tone (I mean, it's going to be brutal, that much is certain)
One new AAA IP reveal be that from Santa Monica, Bend or whoever.
Maybe some actual gameplay or information about Pragmata I mean, it was slated for 2022, then 2023 and Capcom show stuff at Sony events fairly often (I think)
Pretend prediction: it has secretly always been a planned spin off of Death Stranding, concept written by Kojima and sold off to Capcom, hence all the moon references and space stuff in DS and the Ludens 😁
More predictions:
Stray 2 announced 😁
Uncharted's future discussed/revealed.
Spider-Man mostly left out, with its own advertised 30 minute deep dive show in a month or so revealed.
Playstation Ball Stars - 3v3 arcade football game where you build your team of three from Playstation characters, third party too why not, and they've got specials and supers and stuff. Yup, definitely happening.
Clearly Aaron is a Naughty Dog Truther like myself, but If Factions is out in the next few weeks AND we get a tease of ND's next project I'd be so shocked i might literally die
If the next Monster Hunter or Dragon's Dogma 2 is shown I'd need to change my pants 😆
Dark Cloud 3 please! I’ve only been asking for it for 18 years. PLEASE!!!!11!1
All I want is Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine. And yes, 10/20/23 does sound fantastic. I also feel like we will see a new TWISTED METAL. It's time.
Dreams 2 and Knack 3
Man, those predictions lower the excitement so much...
Anyway, besides the LoU multiplayer something about those projects would make this the event of the decade
Gendesign's new masterpiece
Playdead's new masterpiece
Moon Studios new game
Untitled new Naughty Dog game (please no Lou3!)
Tsushima 2 (I'll take more of the Ronin game too, for now)
Untitled Santa Monica game
Untitled Bend Studio game
Untitled Insomniac (besides boring spiderdude!)
Project Awakening
Project TH
5 Untitled PS5 1st party exclusives
Untitled Quantic Dream game
GTA 6 (ahahaha)
Those are not predictions, just dreams and hopes obviously though. And maybe at the other Summerfest showcases then...
If it'll will be just the standard obvious ones (Spidey, Wolverine, Stellar Blade, FF16 etc), zzz - I mean, for the most anticipated and important case since years. The first one since the PS5 launch...
@Mattock1987
Bro, if they remade Gitaroo Man, I would run naked down the street. Damn , that was fun
@Vettechy77 I see you are a man of culture as well.
Individually all very sensible, but collectively a little too much, but lets roll with it. All I’m hoping for is 4-5+ games that interest me that are coming in the next 12 months. I hope there is at most 1, or perhaps 2, games that are beyond timeframe.
My predictions
@Rob_230 that would be awesome if it was both! I haven’t heard any direction regarding that. But a mix between brawler & turn-base?!!? Sign me up twice!
Prediction
Every time words or phrases like ‘remake’, ‘remaster’, or ‘relive the classic’ are ushered I will wanna switch the damn livestream off!
The whole nostalgia thing has run dry for me, even for games I’d love like Metal Gear.
Actual predictions:
-I know that ‘leaker’ who is very inconsistent with his leaks said Ghost of Tsushima 2 won’t be shown, but I predict it will with a very small teaser. It will simple set it up as the big game for fall 2024 and that’s all it’ll need to do for now.
-Factions is shown but not nearly enough for us to get a good grip on how the whole thing will work. They will however announce a dedicated event later in the year, possible the Last of us day
(‘infected day’ or something it’s called)
-Spider-Man and Wolverine will show, though the latter will be more of a reminder than an actual reveal.
-Horizons Monster Hunter style multiplayer game shall get a trailer! Still a while out but it’s ready to be shown. So shall it’s mobile game be shown and a reminder that a Netflix show is on the way. Forbidden West PC port also shown, as well as its VR game.
-God of War Atreus game in the vein of Miles Morales. Very brief trailer, I think there will be a lot of trailers like this simple because of the rarity of these events.
-And final one, Final Fantasy 7 part two will get a trailer. I know it won’t make sense with 16 around the corner but when does Square Enix make sense?
Aren't we all forgetting that remote play handheld? Though knowing Sony they like to relegate new peripherals to their blog... how well is psvr2 selling again?
Interesting predictions, from everyone, it's been such a long time since the last Showcase, that I hope we all get something we're excited for. Surely!
For me personally, I would like the following;
(I think we'll probably see more of Final Fantasy XVI too)
(but I think that's been semi-confirmed to not be there)
Either way, it's bound to be a great show
@thefourfoldroot1 totally agree 👍
Hoping Sony San Diego will finally get their finger out and bring us the ModNation Racers sequel we've been waiting for! And MM to produce the LBP 1 & 2 port compilation?
Surely the slimmer PS5 will make an appearance - even if it's just a mock up?
Im loving the optimism here honestly and happy to be proven totally wrong. But having been severely burned by hype before i have a looming sense of deja vu being on the horizon. I think it's going to be 2 new titles and the rest being remaster, remakes, re-imagining etc. To a point I'm in support of some of this. Would kill for a remaster of tails of xillia for example. But wouldn't be surprised if they pull a last of us pt 2 given a ps5 "upgrade" of sorts move, which just using necessary at this point.
I'd love to hear some SM2 news, not necessarily see the game in action. Like I said in another article, I wanna wait until I'm playing. I don't see the appeal of watching gameplay given we've already had the original and MM.
I'd love some Factions news aswell as maybe a little Wolverine tease. Aslong as there's a good chunk of stuff though, I likely won't be disappointed. I'm not a MGS fan and don't play many Japanese games so the less of that, the better (IMO)
@Mattock1987
I wish I still had my PS2(?) just to play that again

I'm gonna try my hardest to go in with zero expectations, but will be impossible in the end haha.
@themightyant they also said vr2 content will be announced too. maybe the vr part of re4 revealed.
i feel like we'll finally see a lot of what the studios have been working on , fire sprite , firewalk , bluepoint studios , haven , bend , san deigo studio, san monica , asobi , and maybe a few others.
I couldn't care less about most things on this list. Haha. All I want:
Getting Devil May Cry vibes from Stellar Blade.
I feel like people are setting themselves up for disappointment. I’ve been through this with Nintendo directs, people expect the world and end up being upset when it didn’t give them it, even if it ended up being good overall.
Meh... A lot of hype for a probably disappointing showcase as usual... I really do hope I'm proved wrong tho! Spiderman 2 is at least definitely coming in the next few months, so at least there's that!
The only prediction/hope for the showcase is Astro Bot Rescue Mission PSVR2 update.
@Jireland92 At least people aren't expecting Silksong to appear at every Playstation event.
Legend of Dragoon remake, Infamous remaster/remake, Dino Crisis oh and Syphon Filter.
Rogue Legacy 2 is an absolute banger of a game and I hope it does come to PS5, I've played the hell out of it on the XSX (after loving the first on PS4), and whilst I wouldn't buy it again and have to start again, it deserves a big audience
I would really like to hear about playstation servers in Brazil and playstation deluxe availability.
