Earlier this week, PlayStation confirmed May's PS Plus Essential update, and there are technically four games up for grabs. We say technically because one of them is an expansion in the form of Destiny 2: Lightfall. If you're looking to get into Bungie's live and ongoing shooter, then this could be the time, ahead of The Final Shape's launch in the summer.
Moving on, May's three full games are EA Sports FC 24, Ghostrunner 2, and Tunic. Once again, there's some nice variety here, but we fully expect more than a few subscribers to be miffed with the inclusion of FC 24 (formerly known as FIFA). Sports titles are always going to be divisive.
Meanwhile, Ghostrunner 2 is blistering action game that demands precision — something that a dodgy frame rate made difficult when the title released in October last year. We think updates have improved things since, but it's worth pointing out.
Thankfully, Tunic is near universally praised as a deeply enjoyable indie adventure, blending all sorts of classic gameplay elements into one cohesive experience.
