Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for April 2024?

My plus expired and I'm still debating whether to renew with premium or drop down to extra. I was really hoping we'd have PS2 titles in the mix by now to justify the price hike but it seems like everyone is raising the price on everything just because they can.

Never been a fan of premium but this month on extra is a steal.

To add to the MediEvil remake invalidating the original release (which I didn't actually agree with, per se), the original release is actually an unlockable in the remake. So... probably just buy the remake, I reckon. (Incidentally, this is exactly why developers don't dump old ROMs as unlockables anymore.)

Dave the Diver and Deliver Us Mars makes this a great value for the month. Plus I get to try Animal Well.

I've been looking forward to Tales of Kenzera since it was announced. So it's a great get for me.

3 day one releases in one month is a huge win.

I think this month is fine for both. Love the indie rush for Extra.

The fact we get new releases is great but I’d still appreciate some older PS4 gems in that catalogue. Stick in Titanfall or one of the other games that frequently go for pennies.

Well can't complain with three new releases and a couple of games (Miasma Chronicles and Deliver us Mars) that ive been meaning to get. Pretty decent month overall for me.

I think it's a decent month with Dave and Tales of Kenzera. I plan on trying both of those out, and wouldn't have bought them otherwise.

Dave the Diver for sure. I just stick to extra now as premium is still awful for it's variety. Soooo soooo many ps1 games missing. Then again so many of those studios have long since passed and acquiring the rights to certain games is probably to much for them to bother with. I'd love Dino crisis, vigilante 8, destruction derby 2 and Loaded to go up.

Alone in the Dark looks cool. Hopefully with all the MediEvil games added they will add The second one too.

Guess we now have all three versions of Medievil on PS Store now then.
The remake is by the far the best version in opinion as it includes all the content that was cut from the PSP remake.
Wish they would remake Medievil 2 now though

Still surprised that they didn’t remake 2 after the remake of the first one.
We was supposed to get a Medievil 3 but that was cancelled and then they turned that idea into the graphic novel that came out a little while after the remake was released

To the people who voted that the Extra selection for this month is crap- what on earth do you want?? Do you want them to give you Stellar Blade or something for free? Three day one releases, of which at least one is widely beloved, is fantastic. I fully understand complaining about Premium, though.

There has never been a month that didn’t disappoint the masses. Unless its a “free” day 1 AAA release, people will always be disappointed.

I'm really happy with this months lineup, I was literally gonna pick up the crew 2 next month but now I don't have to cause it's coming to extra which made my day and some of the other games I'm interested in trying out, I already have 2 Lego games so I'm good.
The lineup for me is a 8/10!

When you look at how huge the catalogue of games is for the PSone and the PS2, it is even more underwhelming to see how few games they have for the subscription. I'm sure Sony could do more to get more titles for it.

Star Wars rebel assault 2 would be a good one and done. I had it back in the day and thought it was so advanced graphically and played it over and over as a teenager lol. Does anyone know if it’s trophy supported?

Sony need to Crack the "death knell" code of PS3. Mark Cerny is worth is weight in gold. The biggest announcement Sony could dump rn is that ps3 is playable VIA DOWNLOAD. to play games like Folklore, 3D DOT Heroes, MGS4, Resistance Trilogy, White Knight Chronicles, Motor Storm, Heavenly Sword, OG Demon Souls, Eternal Sonata, Infamous 1 and 2, SFxTekken, Twisted Metal....I can keep going. Such an amazing library DEAD. And I love the PS community....don't hit me with just turn on your ps3 please lol.

And sorry for the rant. Love my Playstation(s) but damnit that console has gems

Why do they keep bring out 2d platform games were in 2024 now. Make uses of the systems power and stop bring out rubbish games. If they don't start pulling there finger ouy I'm cancelling it I'm sick of it. I have PS EXTRA

Why even have "I don't have PS Plus Premium" as an option?

@Toilet_Goat That would be me. What I’m looking for are AAA games such as Demon’s Souls, Returnal, Rift Apart, Death Stranding DC etc. we used to get in the past. Compared to that every month is poor nowadays.

I understand if this is not a durable strategy, but in that case they gave of the wrong signal in the past. Especially after the extreme price raise last year you’d expect they would continue this strategy. We only get a lot less for a lot more money though.

@Darude84 I think that's fair, since those are old games. Though I very much prefer getting day 1 indie releases, since I generally buy first party games when they come out

@Nyne11Tyme PS5 would melt trying to emulate the PS3 - Cell was so much more advanced than the archaic x86/x64 architecture.

@sanderson72 My PC is from 2016 and wasn't particularly good back then (it's a lot worse than a PS5) and I can emulate PS3 games on it at full framerates. It's probably more of a licensing cost vs profit thing, as well as the fact they'd be closing the door on making money from remasters.

Also, you say "archaic x64" but that simply refers to it being 64-bit, which is what the Cell processor is. From Wikipedia: "Cell is a 64-bit multi-core microprocessor microarchitecture that combines a general-purpose PowerPC core of modest performance with streamlined coprocessing elements."
A PowerPC core is very common and shows up in the 360, GameCube, Wii, Wii U as well as lots of Apple products.

@Matroska Didn't say it wasn't possible but the specs to run RPCS3 are beyond the PS5's capability. You must have a decent spec CPU & GPU?

I'm referring to the x86 push-pop Intel architecture as 'archaic' as the tech dates back to the 1970s - brute speeds and extended instruction sets & the Wintel cartel kept it relevant when things like the Motorola 68k and Power PC chips were running rings around the wheezy Pentiums. The Cell was a PowerPC core with multiple SPEs that handled effectively distributed processing, which is why the multi-core AMD/Intel Core are only just about at the state where they can try to run it at acceptable speeds.

PS+ is very divided on opinion.
It creates a debate in the comments section at least 3 times a month.

@Toilet_Goat Fair enough. I’m not interested in indies at all, so for me the service holds no value anymore (sub’s running out).

I'm still too busy with FF7 Rebirth and unicorn overlord to really care, but I'm looking forward to zau, animal well and maybe Dave the diver. The rest seems pretty weak.

I only upgraded to extra because it was on offer, definitely got my money's worth. expires next month though so I'll be downgrading to essential as nothing takes my fancy anymore for the £50 more

Nothing of interest for me sadly, but i can see extra has some quality games on there this month, just not my style of games. I think many people will be happy with these though.

I already got my money's worth this year from extra, so i'm not too fussed about it, anything else coming this year that i like will be a big bonus!

@ATaco Mine expired almost a year ago and I haven't seen a single thing to make me think I need to renew it.

Is anyone else finding Medievil impossible to add to library? I’m on PS Plus Premium and the only option is to add to cart for £7.99.
