Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Games for May 2022?

You should know by now, everyone on here hates PS+ more and more every month.

@Milktastrophe can't be me. For a fiver a month with an annual subscription, I think it's great value even if there are months where I'm not interested in the games. I don't get the constant bashing honestly. It's either: boo, I already played that or boo, it's trash. But I realize I'm pretty much alone with that notion.

Not really anything for me this month but I don’t really mind, I’ve a colossal backlog. Currently trying to finish Fenyx

Gonna play Curse of The Dead Gods 1st, but I don't know WHEN. Lot's of games to finish 1st.

Never been a sports game guy so FIFA does nothing for me, but yhe other two are right up my alley.

I quite liked Wolves of Midgard so looking forward to giving Tribes a go. I probably won’t play Curse and definitely won’t play FIFA.

Think the last FIFA I played was FIFA 05 so yeah I'll give this one a whirl. Trophies are quite out of reach I imagine but yeah a decent month all in all I think

Last fifa I bought was 2020 and hardly played it 🤣🤣...so getting fifa 22 for free is a win in my book lol

Another zero redemptions month for me, sadly. Madden 22 instead of FIFA 22 would have been fantastic.

It's quite expected to have the worst month since the new subscriptions are coming next month.

it’s hot garbage , & after streaks of sony releasing trash games on plus , i’m actually starting to hate ps plus now . i just want to play online at this point and don’t care about anything else . actually , i never cared about anything else with plus anyway , but the recent selections just make me hate it .

Since FIFA 22 looks to be coming to both Game Pass and PS Plus this month it doesn’t seem that special. I’ll probably play it on PlayStation.

Tribes of Midgard looks interesting though.

None of them. The monthly games have been pretty disappointing this year, IMO.

Nothing for me this month either, not a big deal but this year has been awful for my personal taste at least.

Will definitely give Tribes and Curse a go, but FIFA isn't for me. Never been a football fan, Thank goodness for jukeboxes in the pub as 90 mins of watching that just bored me. Sitting under the t.v. watching grown men crying over it was always far more entertaining 😂

Not a sports fan so will pass on FIFA but will give the others a good try. Roguelikes are pretty much like crack for me so we will see.

ToM sounds too multiplayer-oriented, while I bought CotDG just a couple of weeks ago (nice graphics, but a poor man's Dead Cells). I have no interest in football, but haven't played a football game since Sensible Soccer (which was fun) so might try FIFA.

Looking forward to trying Tribes of Midgard. Sony probably got FIFA dirt cheap with it coming to EA Play / GamePass the same month. Poor form if that ends up being true (which I’m sure it is) since there are people on PS5 that have EA Play as well.

Good job I paid less than £30 for a year subscription to PS+ (I'm good until Dec 2023) as this year's PS4 offerings have been cack, mostly.

The only time I ever go near FIFA is when I need some replacement game boxes, so there is absolutely no chance I'm adding this to my collection

Curse of dead gods was on my wishlist anyway. So now I get to add to my library and not play it for free.

@nomither6 nice trolling, nobody would call a game where a couple of players from each team somewhat rarely kick the ball "real football", right?

I love this month. I’m too cheap to shell out for yearly sports games so I’ll play for free when I can. I also love indie games so I’m happy to play anything. Gaming is an amazing hobby that everyone seems to hate lol.

@dschons because with ps plus you're basically just being charged to play online & use cloud saves these 'free' games are just a way of making it look like more value than it is same with Xbox live gold where as on pc there's no charge to play online & if you have epic games store you can literally get games to keep absolutely free with no subscription needed & the games on that are actually pretty good alot of the time

@Would_you_kindly That's your opinion on the matter but that doesn't apply to everyone. I, for example, don't think that most games are trash, quite the opposite actually, so there's MY value. It's subjective. One cares only about the ability to play online and cloud saves, the other only about the games. And if you care about both like me: Jackpot.

Been wanting to try Curse of the Dead Gods, so happy there. Other two are a pass.

Last time i actually bought a football game was on the PS2, lol. Even two of 'em, This is Football and Pro Evo 3. Now Fifa's free i think i might try it and marvel at how little progress these games have made in 20 years, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun..

Tired of co-op games. I don’t want to inter-react with other gamers. Stop trying to make me.

I've hardly touched the PS5 over the past couple of weeks but FIFA will get me back too it, not bought it this year (or last) so will see what it's like. I don't expect much will have changed. Was never big on FUT so not like I've missed a season worth of fleecing.

The other games I'll probably add to my library with the intention of playing and never get round to them.

Other months have been particularly bad, certainly for people like me who prefer single player games.

If you only want plus for online gaming access, then surely it’s giving you what you want and the games are irrelevant? The world of free online gaming on PlayStation ended when PS4 came into existence, so we can’t do anything about that as it’s a cash cow for Sony.

If you don’t like the games but enjoy online gaming, you’re still getting something for your money?

Crap selection for me, personally, but TBH it usually is so……???

I have zero interest in these games. At this point my only reason for subscribing to PS+ is to get help with Elden Ring bosses.

Nothing I am personally interested in spending time with playing, but I'm happy anyway.

A clunker (curse) an uhm ok game (tribes) and a game that's already included in every other subscription... Not much of a freebie that one (fifa) add all the micro-transactions and it's another crap month

@michaelf in my opinion , it’s hot garbage . and no , i’m actually being hustled for my money to use my own internet to connect to a games server . Sony just capitalized on people using their console to play said games by using PSN as a barrier to charge people to use their own internet to connect to a games own server . the only thing sonys involved in , is us using their console ; PSN is just a marketplace like steam , we don’t actually need it to play games online & there was a time ( A LONG TIME) when it was free , so nah - i don’t feel like i’m getting my moneys worth . We already payed for the console , and sony gets a cut of the purchases we make for games on their console .

These articles baffle me..when the games are leaked or announced push square ask us what we think..they get everybodys oppinions but still publish another article asking if we are happy with our plus games this month..couldnt they have worked out from the first article that most people are not happy no matter how good the games are? Maybe they just dont have enough stuff to report about and are reduced to stocking filler...i'm very happy with this months games and i'm looking especially forwards to curse of the dead gods..

@nomither6 i understand what you are saying here and yes we dont technically require ps+ or whatever itterations are on their way but sony do provide an enclosed secure ecosystem for gamers..granted its not 100% hack proof but it is a lot more secure than steam (in my oppinion and experience.) I also find online gaming a lot more reliable and stable than it ever was on the ps3 and i remember modern warfare and the sequel being particulary horrendous at times..grand theft auto 4 was disgusting to try and play online so yeah i agree with you to a degree but i really dont agree on a free moderatly regulated enviroment being better overall..and i'm not saying you are wrong either..

No, personally I am not happy. But in all fairness, this time it isn’t a crap selection.

None of them are my cup of tea personally, but for FIFA players its probably a big win this month.

It's a pretty good selection to be fair. Just gutted I bought fifa a couple months ago. Best month of this year so far

@naruball people justify anything . that $5 month adds up and you end up losing more money than paying for the other tiers .

the fact that you don’t think my complaint is legitimate is really stupid when i made good points ; if you like paying for online when it used to be free & isn’t necessary then whatever , but you won’t change my mind on it.

@Northern_munkey i believe they have enough money and income to maintain a secure and stable network without people paying for it . they just keep doing it because they can keep getting away with it . M$ was ballsy and pioneered a money making scheme that even nintendo followed suit

@nomither6 of course they have more than enough money..i really think they should have made the existing ps+ model free for online play (minus the freebies each month) and then have the other 2 as additional models..this would have made everybody happy but its not on the cards..i'm happy to stick with what i have for the time being..

Why is it they only give you games to play that are two player or multiplayer there should be single player games not everyone as family or friends. The only friend I have got is my cat and I can't give the cat a PS4 controller to use. There should be more games of like rally or war games to play I hate football games I hate futuristic games but being a oap I naturally hate most things.

Might boot up fifa as I haven’t played one since 15, and that only briefly (was a big downgrade on 14 in terms of manual through ball passing/shooting and just never tried to get back into it).
The other two will probably sit in my backlog…I just don’t have time for games that don’t exceptionally appeal to me these days.

A good month for me as I've not played any of them for once.

I heard good things about Curse of the Dead Gods so I'll definitely check that out.
Also, while not personally interested in FIFA, that's definitely a good game to have in your library if you're having people over or something

I think they're ok. Curse if the Dead Gods is a really good game but I already have it. Tribes looks pretty good, imo. I know people who are fans of loot games and they like it, so I'll at least play it but with a new Diablo coming, eh. Fifa is well Fifa, I'm more into arcade sports games, so I'll be waiting for Strikers there...

Yup, I’m happy. I’ve been interested in the two indie titles for a while.

@nomither6 Your a little salty and real Football is not American Football in most of the world. Im certain that real Football aka soccer for the US is more beloved around the world not only Europe.

Also a money making scheme i think in a good month you make you could make your money back in one turn.

I have had enough good games in the first two month not that i have time to play them with this backlog anyway.
And they have enough money to make it free? Its not a charity. Tesla and Gates have enough money to feed Afrika and somehow they dont do that.

@Flaming_Kaiser yeah, I can see Americans referring to American Football as just "Football", but to proclaim it as the only "real" football is a bit rich. I'll entertain arguments about whether Rugby Football or Association Football get that title.

Association Football at least has the purest "the foot is what touches the ball" essence, while Rugby Football is the oldest standardised form of the game, from which American Football derived, and it's not uncommon for players in any position to kick the ball.

Also Rugby players don't bother with all that ridiculous padding that just results in traumatic brain injuries /half-joking

It feels like it could have been better if American Football had called itself American Rugby, because at least then it shares something in common, and we'd just be asking, "yeah, but League, Union, or American?"

@Flaming_Kaiser why would American football be classed as real football if it's used with hands? Only asking because I understand it's called soccer in America which is fair but I wouldn't say it's real football if you use your hands.

May as well call rugby in the UK, football? Same comparison really if you think about it.

Handball is played with hands, America football is played with hands so American football should be called handball football to be the real football in America.

The real football is played by kicking it with said foot to be called football.

You do realise European football is bigger than American how many teams in America support UK teams even people from my town live in Australia and support teams back home even people in africa etc, UK has pretty much the biggest league in the world and attracts new owners of wealth and players and here is something for you players from Europe tend to go to play their final years in America so what does that tell you, if American football was so popular don't you think that players would rather play in America than the FA Premier League in the UK which is the hardest and best league in the world pretty much.

Honestly, this is a great month for me. I was going to buy Curse of the Dead Gods on Switch. And I was waiting for Tribes of Midgard to hit a sale (I love ARPGs and rogue likes). So scoring those 2 is a big get for me.

Assumptions are bad and people who make them should feel bad (*insert meme). I see the same argument over and over again ("surely everyone who wanted Uncharted already bought Uncharted") and people never learn. No, not everyone who's interested in x game already has it.

First of all, many people have commented saying they don't have it but want to play it. Are you saying they're lying? Then you can look at the charts that show that the game is still selling. So who's buying those copies?

My problem with FIFA is that it’s a money grab… being included in psPlus solves that. I’m excited to play it

Funny thing is, if I still had PS+ I'd be super excited to play Fifa 22. Last edition I played was Fifa 17, so it'd be interesting to see how far - if at all - the series has progressed...

That said, my subscription expired April 26th...and this slate was not enough to tempt me into renewal. The offerings have been too poor for too long. Maybe June will feature something worth diving back in for...

For the record, I don’t have fifa 22 (only fifa 21) and I’m delighted its in ps plus this month. My cousin is the same. 😀😀😀 So guess that disproves the whole “if you wanted fifa 22 you’d already have it nonsense” (including you pushsquare!). You could say that about any game really

@dschons You are not alone. I think the key is to recognize that Sony is unaware that Random Angry Gamer #5 already owns 1 or more of the games they've chosen for this month. Also that they can't make everybody happy each month. I have zero interest in FIFA, but I can at least appreciate that it's a well-reviewed game that fans of the sport would be happy to get for free. All I hope for each month is that there will be at least 1 game that interests me, and at least 1 game that is appropriate for my kid to play. Sometimes both things happen, sometimes one, sometimes none.

I have been stuck in the world of Skyrim for the past 2 weeks, so no, I won't be playing any of these, and I'm not interested in any of them besides Fifa which could be fun with friends.
