Yep, we now live in a reality where Like a Dragon: Ishin! is available worldwide. And if that's not cause for celebration, we don't know what is.
This historical spinoff originally released in Japan almost a decade ago, with this remake giving the experience an Unreal Engine overhaul on PS5 and PS4. If you're already a fan of the Yakuza games, then chances are you'll be giving this a go. But if you happen to be a newcomer, then Ishin is arguably a great place to start, thanks to the fact that it has a completely standalone story.
And so we're here to ask: are you playing Like a Dragon: Ishin? Or maybe February's release schedule is just too much to handle right now? Vote in our polls, and then express yourself in the comments section below.

Just waiting on FedEx to bring my copy.
Will you guys slow down? I haven't even finished Hogwarts yet ugh.
Busy with with other games so it will definitely be awhile before I come to this. Haven’t even played any of the Judgement games yet.
I'm still working on Hogwarts Legacy first but Ishin is installed and ready to go as soon as I finish being a wizard.
Installed the disc and its update just fine but it's not letting me download its dlc voucher code for the swords and cannon set, just says try later everytime I put in the 12 digits. Very odd
My copy has arrived, but i've only really just started Hogwarts 😅 i would have waited, but i've felt a need to always support Yakuza titles on day 1 since Yakuza 3 to demonstrate support for the series to ensure they keep bringing them West. I know thats a distant fear now given the series has really taken hold in the west.
Plus i've wanted to play this game for years and years now. Cant wait to get stuck in.
Yep. I’ve been playing it on the Series X simply because I want to support more Yakuza games on the Xbox. I’m on chapter 3 right now and it’s fantastic. I’m looking forward to playing it more tomorrow on my day off work.
So many games in the backlog at the moment! January and February have been packed with titles I want to play. Currently balancing between Midnight Suns, Crisis Core Reuinion, Atomic Heart, and a few days ago I beat Spogebob Cosmic Shake (such a great game btw) and the average-but-fun Wanted: Dead.
Then you have Hogwarts Legacy, One Piece Odyssey, Fire Emblem Engage...
Wayyyyy too many good games have released in such a short time frame! Great year so far

@pharos_haven Yummmmm?
I'm really trying to play more Ishin! recently but so hooked on MH:Rise
I’ve been playing it since the 17th. I was honestly hoping they would of modernised it a bit more, but I’m enjoying it so far.
VR2 has stolen all my attention at the moment, yet I'm still mid-binge on the main Yakuza series. This is a must-have, but it'll be quite some time before I get to it.
Reminds me I still need the Lost Judgment story DLC, too...
Been waiting a good 10-15 years to play this, although from reviews I've heard it's quite dated I'll definitely give it a good go, until like a dragon 8 comes out
What do we put for bought but in the backlog lol
Been playing it since Friday.
It’s absolutely fantastic.
@BlackMayge Same, Xbox is where I’ve played all the Yakuza games and I plan to keep buying the games there.
Basically Yakuza in a samurai skin loving it will be playing more at the weekend.
Picking up from Best Buy today #TeamPhysicalCopy4Life
My Yakuza side story addiction begins again!
The over saturation of these games makes me never want to touch them.
@Sakisa eeewwww
I bought it as I love the series and want to support the developers and these kinds of games. However, I've only just finished Yakuza 2 Kiwami, so it might be stuck in my backlog for a while.
Yup, just messing around with a few side activities for now. So good to be back to one of these games, can't wait to complete everything as always.
@pharos_haven Yummmm?
My copy arrived today but I plan on tackling it once I'm done with the Dead Space Remake.
I usually like to space out RRG Games to not get burnt out by them. I just finished Lost Judgment a few weeks ago but I'm too hyped for Ishin so I may bend that rule a teensy bit
only played Lost Paradise and this none of the other Yakuza games yet.
I watched the PlayStation Access stream yesterday and the mini-games look fun. Definitely something I’m looking for in a sale for Black Friday or in the Summer. Still have a bunch of Yakuza games to play so I’ll pass at full price despite it being right up my alley
Not at the moment but I do have it installed on my PS5. Currently playing through P3P and Hogwarts is on hold.
@johnny30
This comes out first....maybe this year!!

Where’s the option of yes but not for 3 years because I want the platinum for all of the games but am only up to Yakuza 4?
@Ken_Kaniff
Oversaturation?! Side-scrolling indie roguelikes are over-saturated. Battle royal games are over-saturated. Free to play 4-player battle games are over-saturated. COD and MW is oversaturated. Yearly releases of popular sports games are oversaturated.
Well-crafted human drama with kooky side quests and crazy mini-games alongside engaging combat is not.
Damn right I'm playing it. Like a Dragon is my second favorite game series after Resident Evil, no way I'm missing out on this entry that for a while seemed it would never get a Western release.
I am not playing this game nor do I even own it. Waiting until I have the time to play thru Yakuza 0, 1-7, and both Judgment games first.
When I get my PS5 I'll play it.
Just started, the first hour already had me amazed by how good the series looks with the unreal engine.
I'll get to this eventually (when I'm 50, based on the pace I'm playing the rest of the series at), but I'm currently knee-deep in, like, four other games, and Grim Guardians and Fatal Frame 4 drop in the next few weeks.
Playing this and HL on rotation along with a thrid playthrough of P5R.
I'm late to the party with the Yakuza series, having only played Yakuza 0 and 5. But being a Samurai/Edo style fanatic, this was a must buy.
Yes it feels dated at times, but it's a blast to play. The mini games and side quests are both fun and funny, and there is heaps to do and see.
I'm playing it. 50% of the way through the completion list. Absolutely love the farm stuff for some reason.
Playing it (on ch. 5 so far), but alternating with a few other things including God of War 2018, replaying Nioh 2 (random aside: the first Nioh included a whole bunch of historical figures who also appeared in the other RgG samurai game as characters, wonder how many the same studio's Rise of the Ronin will share with this), & grinding through the DLC chapters of Stranger of Paradise.
@johnny30 well yeah, the "quite dated" part follows from it being a 9 year old game. It plays a lot like Yakuza Zero & compared to the PS3 / PS4 version (tho' this is from memory, it's been a year or two since I started that and never got past ch. 3 since my Japanese sucks so was constantly flicking between the game and the KHH guide) got nothing like the upgrade / working-over that the "Kiwami" versions of 1 & 2 did (& it is being sold as "Ishin Kiwami" in Japan).
@Grimwood
Name 12 then name 3 more, then name another 2.
Also, Google is your friend.

Ishin means Restoration, Reformation, or Revolution.
It literally took you longer to belittle another language than to take the time to learn what it meant.
