Poll: Have You Pre-Ordered an Astro Bot PS5 DualSense Controller?

I bought the GOW and Spiderman one. I've got enough unused controllers so it was an easy pass for me.

Yeah I secured one. Not admitted it to my wife yet though 😅

Managed to get one in curries as wasn't showing up on playstation direct

I was sat there 30 mins before with various websites open. Don't think I needed to be quite so prepared but got one so don't really care 😄

Wheres the, "I tried but was too slow" option?

After battling with the terrible PlayStation direct website I finally secured one after 5 hours. Nothing like waiting in line for 2 hours, adding to your cart and then being unable to enter my Credit Card info because the text box doesn't open.

Truly amazing how popular this controller is. $80 and probably will sell better than a lot of AAA releases.

Got one from the Game website wasn't my first choice but at least I managed too snag one.

While I think it’s a novel design I just have no need for an extra controller right now. Even if I did, and I could theoretically get my hands on any of the specialty ones that have been made, I’d get the Spider-Man 2 one. my son has one of those and it just looks AWESOME!

It's the cutest controller ever, and I kinda want it, but just can't justify it as I would never ever use it and don't actually need to.

@Jayslow Yeah but I wonder how many are buying for resale purposes. Reselling limited edition things even while they're still available at normal price on Amazon for 300% markup is a thing. Somehow people buy them. Even before peak scalping, I remember the Xenoblade 2 Switch Pro controller going for like $140+ on Amazon right after it'd sold out. I think it's a given that "limited" anything sells a huge chunk to "resellers" looking for a buck.

@Jayslow LOL! What? You're in the USA and they went on sale a bit after 9am CST. It's only been four hours as of right now. How did you wait for five?

@Azex You didn't try very hard. They're still available from USA's PS Direct.

I have three dual senses and they all drift a lot. Sony made several special versions of the controller with great aesthetic but the drifting problem is still reported in forums and they did nothing to improve the situation. I'll not spend money in another dual sense, and save it to buy a Nacon instead. It is a shame.

Its a very cool design, but have an Edge so whats the use?

I won't ever use it, but I needed to have it, just to have it sit next to the Astro Bot Nendoroid figure and plush . Also finally bought a FF Pixel Remaster physical copy today. Wallet's tapping out.

No chance all gone already, no doubt they will be resold for a ridiculous price.

@Blackmagehobbit I understand that frustration. I did get two of these, one for me and one for my son. But I don't know if I'll ever use mine. I have never opened or used my Spider-Man or Hogwarts Legacy Dualsenses either because I've gotten bad drift on all of my non special edition controllers. Im just keeping them in the box to display in the rest of my gaming collection.

I did open one of my standard Dualsenses and cleaned the potentiometer but it didn't help at all. Although I think those things are like 10 cents a piece and just replacing it would have probable fixed it. So if thats a concern, they're pretty easy to open and replacing the little potentiometer is an option. But I hear ya for sure. We shouldn't even HAVE to do that.

@Axelay71 They are not gone. I JUST checked and still available on Sony Direct USA. Perhaps you're not in the US?

I've already got 3 controllers, I'm good for now.

Sounds silly but if the eyes were LED and moved around, I probably would have gotten one. But otherwise I’ll pass, I don’t need another controller and would rather save $80 for games.

@Flaming_Kaiser I have only found that to be an issue with white controllers. Thus this one won't be used at all and will sit on the shelf in it's box next to my unused Spider-Man and Hogwart Legacy Dualsenses. Why don't I use the other two? Don't want them to develop stick drift then be completely worthless.

@Almost_Ghostly very much doubt it.with the scalpers out there. Sony really need to produce more of these things to stop this from happening.

In honor of the pre-order of the $80 controller I went to Target today and paid $70 for a black one.

I already have a red one that drifts and a purple one that drifts to the point of being unusable so I needed a new one but not an $80 new one that I'll have to replace when it drifts. The white one that came with our system has never drifted, hoping the black one is the same.🤞

Id rather spend the money to buy the actual game

It’s nice and everything, but there’s one flaw for me at least : it looks like someone’s staring at me at all times while playing.

Was on the.fence, looked about 4pm and there was some stock left on Smyth's UK, sat on the fence and now all gone. Truth is, I would have only bought this to sell, which is unfair so I'm probably glad I gave it a miss

I have and use an Edge, and have a standard Dualsense that sits unused, so as much as I like the look of this controller, I know buying it would be a mistake as it wouldn't be used.

Hubbub, indeed! Heart pounding, frantically checking websites in my phone and laptop, with support from cool dudes on the PushSquare community, was able to snag one from Target. I became 10 years old again. Most beautiful PS5 controller by a long shot!

Oh and I’m excited for the game too…

@Flaming_Kaiser I may use them at some point if I can successfully replace the potentiometer on a couple standard controllers to fix the drifting. Maybe I should think about buying used ones for cheap with bad drifting for practice and resale. lol

I like it. If it cost the same as a regular Dualsense I might have bought it, but I'm not paying a premium for another controller. I have enough. It definitely looks cool, but who looks at their controller while they're playing, anyway?

It's a beautiful controller and I would totally have gotten it if I did not have too many controllers already. I bought two Spider-Man 2 controllers plus the three original DualSense controllers I have.

What percentage you think went to scalpers? 95%? Higher?

Nope , I was napping so it’s nothing but temporary out of stock or sold out where I live right now.

Its one of the few controllers I bought for my PS5 that wasn't the standard one. Amazon had some before they sold out.

I was able to get a couple directly from the PS store a few hours after they went live. Was actually surprised how easy it was.

I have three Dual Sense controllers. One is pretty much unusable because drift, and another is almost there. It's really, really frustrating that there's so few third party controller options on PS5. The Dual Sense is great (the drifting is annoying, but the kids use the thing allllll day), but barely any games use its features anyway, so Id rather have some more affordable options. And the track pad is stupid. And more games should use gyro.

I think it’s the best DS design so far but i have no priority to buy it as my OG DS still in good condition(rarely used). It’s functional just the same as others DS so im better spend my money on games

I sure did! But man, Sony did not make it easy with their shoddy PlayStation Direct website. Wario64 and Walmart came into clutch. Can't wait until September.

I got one. I don’t think it’s the best looking controller - like they could have done more. But the eyes are cool so! Otherwise I just have the Ragnarok controller and normal white.

I also got the new Xbox Sky Cipher see through one. 😍

Wanted one for my son, but I will NOT pay scalpers !

Preordered a physical copy of Astro Bot for him in the meantime at a local store, just because of the poster included in the box - he'll love it!

First I am aware of it, while an avid enough gamer and tech follower.

sadly, I miss my chance. they are out of stock. every single website. I hope in my heart they will available again in matter of time before release.

Personally I ordered a few as they'll make great Christmas pressies for certain members of the family and a couple of cheeky extra ones for eBay too. 😉

Yes i preorderedit.. it tinkled every fomo part of me more than other controllers.. maybe iut's just because i'm really looking forward to the game and it just fits so well... was already sold out at 8 am at mt local dutch store, got one at mediamarket.
