You'll have to forgive me for being a little late with this Game of the Month poll for May 2026 — it was all down to those pesky summer gaming events, leaving no room for such a debate.
But now that the excitement is over, it's time to look back on the month of May and ask ourselves... which PS5 release deserves to be crowned Game of the Month? As always, only you can decide.
May wasn't what I would call stacked, but it did have a couple of heavy hitters in the form of 007 First Light and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight — and those two blockbusters (pun mostly intended) were flanked by some really highly rated, smaller releases.
Both Mixtape and Mina the Hollower were met with rave reviews, and they couldn't be much further away from each other in terms of gameplay and design.
So again, it wasn't the most packed month, but the quality was certainly clear for all to see. And so I'm thinking this poll will be rather interesting...
But before we get to that, here's a very quick recap of 2026's Game of the Month winners so far:
- January 2026: Trails beyond the Horizon
- February 2026: Resident Evil Requiem
- March 2026: Crimson Desert
- April 2026: Pragmata
Now then, which game should join them? Vote for your favourite PS5 title of May 2026 in the poll, and then at least try to explain yourself in the comments section below.
Voting closes on Thursday 11th June 2026 at 00:00 BST.

Easy vote for 007.
Lego Batman for me but 007 is winning that one.
Voted for 007 First Light, it's a great game.
007 will be placing 001!
First light was a refreshing change to what I’ve been playing and very well made. Interesting story, great pacing, looked/played amazing and overall a great time not to mention the best training section of any game in my opinion.
Hard to pick between Bond, Batman and Mina but i think Bond just edges it.
Mina for me since I have yet to play Lego Batman or 007.
Mina the Hollower for me.
Mixtape is my runner up. 007 or Bubsy for third. I have an unpopular opinion.
That's easy 007 first light.word up son
Mina the Hollower. Nothing else is even remotely close.
An easy vote for 007 First Light - currently my No 2 GOTY just slightly behind RE Reqium.
007 is the best game I've played in a long time, and I thought Resi, Pragmata and Saros were all fabulous when I played them at launch.
@Rich33 RE9 will be my GOTY the whole year hoping the DLC will be sizeable!!
35% through Bond. 1st game in ages that I have bought full price and that I am intentionally playing slowly. I don't want it to end. It does everything I want. Great Bond jokey dialogue, over the top Bond story, great exploration, challenging stealth, cool gadgets, beautiful cinematic set pieces, intense gun fights. Brilliant stuff.
Looking forward to IOs ongoing support
@Oram77
I think it will be between RE9, and Wolverine (maybe and Onimusha). As obvious as it sounds, it will just depend on how good Wolverine is.
And I do tend to include DLC in my choices, if it adds to the game / story.
I really wanted to vote for Lies of P (2024) last year as my 2nd place game, as Overture (2025) added so much to the game.
I'm sure Mixtape will win! Game of the Generation.
Seeing as Lego Batman is the first game I've bought in ages that's the only one I can vote for. 007 is quietly whispering to me though.
007 First Light, closely followed by Mixtape. Two very different games but both fantastic experiences in their own right.
I actually voted batman as I'm only early days on Bond. Also it didn't need my vote lol.
I'm sure once I get further in Bond will likely be my number 1 too but gotta say Lego batman was genuinely superb and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants some fun. Especially if you love Batman
Bit of a niche title, but for me it was Bus bound. Had a lot of fun with this, and it’s such a chill game. I haven’t yet bought First light, but will probably buy it sometime soon.
Mina for me. I like videogames a lot more than "gaming experiences" though.
Lego Batman : Legacy of the Dark Knight, not even close.
Mixtape it was magical!
Haven't played any so can't vote for once!
