It's a new year, and it's time for a new type of poll here on Push Square. At the beginning of each month, we're going to be asking you lot about your most anticipated PlayStation games. Now, admittedly, January isn't exactly overflowing with hype. This month's release schedule is looking decidedly dry — probably because everything comes out in February — but hey, we're still doing this poll!
- If you need a reminder on which games are actually releasing this month, check out our guide: Upcoming PS5, PS4 Games for January and February 2022
So vote for the game you're most looking forward to, and then give us your reasoning in the comments section below.

I’m looking forward to February
My most anticipated game this month is actually pokemon legends arceus. Untill that game releases I’ll be playing lost judgment on my ps5 and forza horizon 5 on my XSX.
Absolutely none of those, give us a PS5 January update with folders Sony to kick off a great new year of games 😕
Where is the none option? 😂
In January I shall mostly be looking forward to February
Unless I decide to dip in for Train World Sim 2 Deluxe Edition I will be holding out for February (HFW) as I am still working through my Christmas backlog. Currently playing Disco Elysium, totally different from my usual game choice but so far it is superb.
Pokémon Leg.....
Oh, nothing 🙄
Seriously though nothing this month for me apart from pokemon legends arceus, but next month is a different story, Horizon Forbidden West, Elden Ring, Dying Light 2 and Sifu, crazy month
The misses is having a cheap valentines day 😁
January is definitely backlog month.
None isn't a possible option in the question of 'most'.
Looking forward to revisiting Uncharted!
+1 for none lol
From this list probably Windjammer 2. First was terrific so can't wait to see the improvements!
@Bingbongboyo me too. Classic games.
Uncharted for me, but the end of February is what I'm really hyped for. Two weeks off work, Horizon and Elden Ring... It'll be like second Christmas.
Nothing in January for me.
Not sure if i will get uncharted day one or not, might just wait for a deep sale or somrthing and just prepare myself for sifu then horizon and onwards
@Titntin during the first lockdown I completed the remastered trilogy, still loved them!
None of the above. A month to try and catch up on the mountain of games I still haven't got around to.
@ShogunRok this was my plan until Mass Effect was added to EA play. Now I’ll be playing the trilogy again 😅
Battle Brothers is so good. One of the best turn based games in years. Please don’t ignore it if you like the genre.
Considering ive just got a ps5 with 8 games im defenately not buying anything else this month. Im just doing alot of creeping to the wife.... Feb is a different matter tho.
Maybe add a backlog option haha. Because this month basically means I will finish one or two games in backlog.
The 'next' game I am definitely getting on my PS5 is Horizon: Forbidden West (already pre-ordered). I'd certainly not buy Windjammers or R6 on PS5 (even if I was interested) as I can play these through Game Pass so I couldn't even say those are 'Playstation games I am looking forward to.
I have both Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy, completed both with ALL collectables so unless Sony gives us 'free' updates, I doubt that I'll rebuy the Legacy of Thieves. That's something I may well pick up in a Black Friday sale in the future.
It looks like January will be spent playing 'older' games - some I have yet to even start (GotG, FC6 etc) until Forbidden West releases mid-February. It will be the 'first' 2022 release game I will be buying and is my most anticipated release of Q1...
@lolwhatno not sure what that means? In my language, Welsh, that's really rude. So not sure if that's what you mean...
Uncharted I guess but I'd have much rathered heard of a new game in the series being made instead.
Pretty much Uncharted what what will only cost me a tenner and give me a free ticket to the film. The big game this month for me is Pokemon Legends. Next month is where the gaming year really starts though.
Definitely looking forward to Uncharted for PS5. Pokémon Arceus & WindJammers 2 for Switch. And I'll work on my backlog for Xbox Series X...
@lolwhatno lol, no apologies needed! Quite alright, I was worried that I'd said something and you were upset! Thanks for the clarification!
Horizon replay and Forbidden Wilds DLC (for the first time) ahead of the sequel.
Though PS+ & Game Pass with Outer Wilds, Mass Effect Remastered, Dirt 5, Gorogoa, The Pedestrian, Olija and more are trying to ruin my careful plan
None .i already got both uncharted on my ps4 pro.and it already looks amazing.february games looks way better.word up son
@B-I-G-DEVIL Hey, it's never a bad time to play through all 100 hours of Mass Effect again.
Hopefully naughty can move on from uncharted after this collection, I've played them all apart from number 4 and that's because they have all been given away with ps plus or the ps plus collection and the only one I've enjoyed was lost legacy, I don't know what it is but it's the only playstation franchise that's never clicked with with me, I find the characters boring or over cheesey. Or maybe it's because I know it's tomb raider inspired and nothing can beat the tomb raider games especially the last trilogy.
But naughty should now concentrate on some new IP's as they have the talent to make some amazing games and of course reboot the jak and daxter franchise
I get to upgrade to the Legacy of Thieves collection for just $10 even though I’ve never played Lost Legacy since I own a physical copy of Uncharted 4.
So this is gonna be my main experience for January, getting the platinum in Lost Legacy. Can’t wait.
Only thing I'm getting in January is the Uncharted collection upgrade for $10. Pretty tame month since February so far is the most stacked one.
I'm buying the uncharted upgrade for a tenner, but simply because its a cheaper way of getting a cinema ticket for the movie, compared to buying direct from cineworld.
@Bingbongboyo I cannot lie, I completed them all again in remastered form too, same time, last lock down!
This style of game is as much about the story and characters as it is about the gameplay. As a result, they are like my favourite films, I can re watch them a lot!

My tip for January: replay Horizon Zero Dawn, including the excellent Frozen Wilds, on the PS5. It looks and plays absolutely beautifully, and the combat is still fantastic.
Plus, the details of the story are easy to forget, always worth some revision before the sequel.
Deep Rock Galactic is the only game I cared about for January.
I find that God Of War on PC is much more interesting this month than the rest of the games posted here.
But since it's not on the list, then Uncharted for PS5 it is. I've actually started a re-play of The Lost Legacy a few weeks back, but abandoned it to wait for this updated version. At the very least it will come with new Trophies, and maybe some updated graphics (though I'm not holding out any hope that they'll be so much different than the backwards compatibility version).
@lolwhatno haha! Okay, fair enough, but you don't need to!
@Titntin I 100% agree!
I suggest backlog month is added as an option to these polls. 😁
Had to find some deep cuts to fill out this poll? Please tell me Wanderer is the sequel to that pointlessly empty and buggy online game Wander from several years back.
@Shepherd_Tallon Two weeks! I'm taking a day for Elden Ring but now you've got me second guessing my decisions
I got Ni no Kuni PS3 and Team Sonic Racing PS4 in this January 2022.
None of that.
February is where it's at, bay-bee!
Just killing time until February upon which Horizon Forbidden West will take over my LIFE!!!
Uncharted collection by default, but even though I'll likely upgrade just to get it done (and I doubt the $10 upgrade will go on sale), I won't be playing either of them for a while since Horizon Forbidden West takes priority over anything else and I'm in no rush.
@Logonogo 😂
I was sick as a pup all Christmas with covid, so I figured feck it, why not go all in for these two games and take some proper time off.
How many times do you have to play Uncharted before it becomes Charted?
Only Pokemon Arceus because I want to see how bad/boring/lazy/cashgrabey it is lol
The new Pokémon this month, but next month is going to be a ripper for PS5.
@AFCC yeah. To me, it looks like something a modder made using the BOTW engine. Nothing about it seems like there was any effort out into it.
February is what I am looking forward to!
None it’s all about February for me.
Of course have played both Uncharted’s so no point returning, new adventures for me please.
God Of War Ragnarök, if I could only buy 1 game this year it would be that
Can't wait to replay Uncharted again! Can never get tired of that game.
twisted metal
I got my PS5 one day before release after I didn't have a PS4. I immediately played Uncharted 2 and 3 (after watching the first on YouTube). I was waiting for an update on 4 and Lost Legacy and as I have the last on disc, I'll definitely buy this for the 10 bucks if the reviews are good enough (no mayor hiccups during gameplay or something)
It's funny, noticed while going through my library of games, it says I already own Legacy of Thieves, I guess because I have Uncharted 4.
So I'm wondering, is there no difference between the one coming out with this release and the original?
If I buy any of these it'll be Windjammers. I'd love to get Uncharted eventually for another run through, but I'm in no rush.
More importantly, February is Elden Ring month and I. Can. Not. Wait. Horizon 2 will be brilliant too I'm sure but I still haven't played the original so need to get on that first really.
I'm just look forward to hopefully actually being able to get a PS5 sometime this decade.
It's easier to judge whether a game is worth trying after it's been released based on player feedback, rather than before it's released..
I haven't heard of the games releasing this month. But if there is a gem here, I'll wait to hear about it and try it when it grabs my attention.
Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, but I most likely will wait a year or longer for the physical copy to become dirt cheap.
All depends on when we're getting the next Uncharted game really...
@HeroYoshiko and people are saying that it's incredible lol
@AFCC great!
