Airing tomorrow night at the time of writing, Gamescom Opening Night Live should prove to be a decent show — provided your expectations are kept in check. As per organiser and host Geoff Keighley, this year's event will focus on games that we already know about, rather than surprise announcements. Now, that may not sound hugely exciting, but it's important to note that there are a lot of promising PS5 titles that need release dates or gameplay deep dives. Geoff shouldn't be short of things to show (although as always, we're not anticipating any additional info on PlayStation Studios projects).
And so we're here to ask you: what PS5 games do you most want to see during Gamescom Opening Night Live? We're going to include both confirmed and potential titles in this poll, so feel free to think outside the box, and then give us your reasons in the comments section below.

Black Myth: Wukong while the dev has no track record, EVERYTHING I’ve seen these last three years has looked absolutely stellar!

Stop sleeping on Stellar Blade. If it doesn't show up now or by next month I'm afraid it will be pushed back to next year or something.

My most anticipated game at the moment is Silksong, but I don't really want that releasing any time soon. There's already far too many games right now and I'd rather keep that for a less busy time.
Instead I'd rather see Tekken 8 (Loving those character reveal trailers), Persona 3 reload/5 Tactics (I'd especially like what content is available in 3 to be cleared up) and Phantom Liberty to see if CD Project Red can finally convince me to buy the game.
Payday 3 is just around the corner and I feel like I haven't seen anything from it, but that's probably just my fault. Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 will probably be epic, so I definitely want to see some gory footage. Death Stranding 2 is my most anticipated confirmed game, so I would LOVE to see a Kojima trailer dropped on our faces.

Deathloop 🤷🏻♂️ This has to be the most uninteresting backend to a year since I blossomed into a kid who was really really really into video games in 1992.
@zhoont there's a lot of gameplay available from the beta. Go watch those videos, it looks very similar to Payday 2 but with much needed updates to stealth and other smaller niggling issues
Geoff already set expectations, this is going to be a really tame show, don't expect anything else besides what was already confirmed to be there.
That said, looking forward to more Black Myth, usually I'm skeptic of these games from China because so far not a single one delivered, but people got hands on a few days ago and it seems there will be a demo booth at Gamescon.
Definitely like to see more of Death Stranding 2, Space Marine 2 and Alan Wake 2. Spidey 2 I already know will be high quality. So many 2

I would say Wukong but how much more do we need to see, it’s like all our anticipation is based on that

Sonic Superstars for sure. The more the show focuses on multiplatform games, the more likely there's a Sony event in the near future.
There is no game in life I want more than Ghost of Tsushima 2.
Yeah if i can just see more of Phantom Liberty and Death Stranding 2 I will be satisfied.

@Splat I'm not expecting it at Gamescom since Sony doesn't really do big reveals at events anymore. I'm hoping it's announced around 2024 because we are reaching the 4th year since GoT came out.

None of those honestly. But I pretty much am only interested in VR and Yakuza at the moment, so I’m a bit of an outlier. A new VR Astro it would make me cream my pants.

The last announcement was a bit of a gut punch, considering it was something that would potentially be a flagship early PS5/X game that shows off the consoles power
I went with Tekken 8, Sonic Sonic Superstars, and Dragon Dogma 2. Would like to see Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth as well.
@all3forever agreed, that was one of the main games I wanted for PS5. Almost forgot Stellar Blade because it isn’t talked about much. Some new info would be great.

@Ravix To be fair, we’ve had less maybe 10 games as of 2023, years after launch, that have shown off the power either platform has… in a way that exceeds what the PS4 and Xbone were capable of. Capcom just wanted to let Resident Evil and Street Fighter breathe one last breath into last gen before they flatline us with something next gen, of course.

I was hoping that since Square Enix has finished FF16 that we would get more news on both Kingdom Hearts 4 and Dragon Quest 12.
Looking forward to more news about Dragons Dogma 2, Dark Arisen on the PS3, in my opinion was more fun to play than Skyrim.

Might pick up Helldivers 2 to play with friends if it turns out to be any good. On the fence about the Avatar game - it's looking like Far Cry, which is a series I enjoy, but... I find it hard to be interested in an Avatar game.
