It's been about a week since Granblue Fantasy: Relink finally landed on PS5 and PS4. The action RPG released during an especially busy period — just after Tekken 8 and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and just a day before Persona 3 Reload — but the positivity surrounding its arrival suggests that fans of the genre shouldn't skip this sky-faring adventure.
"Granblue Fantasy: Relink is one of the PS5's best action RPGs — but you need to know what you're getting into," we wrote in our Granblue Fantasy: Relink PS5 review. We continued: "If you can embrace the grind, a fantastic character roster and some amazing boss battles await." We gave the game a 'great' 8/10 in the end.
But we're here to find out what review score you would give Granblue Fantasy: Relink. So get voting in our poll, and then explain yourself in the comments section below.

Strong 8/10. It's pretty much exactly the game I expected it to be for the last eight years. It has a good story setup, the characters all have good depth to them, and it's well suited for short and long play sessions. I do wish there was an easier way to switch characters in-game and it takes a while to get going, but overall, I'm very happy with it.
8.5 so I rounded up to 9. Gameplay is great, presentation is fantastic. The story and characters are good but lacking in depth and content. But I'm having a great time with it.
Having played a lot of this game for review and then casually afterwards, I stand by the 8/10 I gave it. I think it's a very neatly made game that's a lot of fun to play.
My only real gripe with it is missions where you fight whole groups of enemies don't feel as good as missions where you fight big, singular bosses. The combat system shines when it's you and your party against one huge threat, a bit like Monster Hunter.
Still, can see myself going back to Relink for a long time, even if it's just to grind for an hour here and there.
It's a GOTY contender for certain.
Pushsquare got that one right.a 8 is a really good score for a outstanding wonderful game.word up son
I really like this game, I just wish the missions were less combat focused and had more exploration.
I'm thinking around a 7 right now but have to finish it. The story is really simple and the combat is like a stripped down, less complex Tales of Arise. Definitely pales in comparison to that game in every way and it’s hard not to compare given the similarities. Still having a lot of fun with it though and a nice palette cleanser before Rebirth
Edit: played a good bit more, almost done and I’m moving this down to a 6. Lots of reskinned bosses and not much challenge to be found. Very repetitive and just feels really uninspired in a lot of ways
I won't give it a score since I haven't finished the story yet, but I've been enjoying it. Just arrived at the second town, and man is the art direction gorgeous.
Combat is very fun & fast paced (kinda reminds me of the Ys games in terms of how fast it feels), there are a ton of different ways to upgrade your party members to the point it can be hard to process it all (though as I don't intend to get deep into post game, hopefully it shouldn't be too much of an issue).
I had trouble with that ice wolf boss at the end of chapter 5 as it kept nearly wiping my party with that arena wide attack I couldn't figure out how to dodge/negate, but I managed.
7. Relink has been mostly fun so far but the story is just meh the characters are just there and I was kind of wishing that I could be playing a big budget Ys game the whole time.
I'd give it a solid 9, combat is excellent, story is great, visuals are excellent, voice acting is excellent and the same as the anime, plenty to do with online missions and crazy boss fights.
Only negatives for me are the linear world design and no actual in game map when exploring.
Really wanted to play this so downloaded the demo. Combat was just to busy visually for me. I could hardly make out what was happening on the screen due to all the special moves effects. Left me feeling a bit nauseous but probably just me.
Characters and the world looked great
Game is far too easy on the Hard difficulty. Teammates never get attacked and can always revive you, so because of the infinite revive it has 0 challenge. That also makes upgrading your characters and weapons useless (OP) in Story Mode.
I'm at chapter 9 and never needed a 4 man squad, usually play solo with Gran or with 1 other character. For me that is a big bummer. I would give the game a 7 for now. I really like the art style, combat, story, audio/music and Primal Beast fights.
I'm reading a lot of good thinks about the Endgame content. Hopefully that is going to bring this game to a solid 8.
It's like a lesser Tales of Arise.
I took a punt on this game seeing as I enjoyed the demo. Now I don't usually play jrpg's as I'm not really taken with the anime art style and I really don't like genshin impact at all but I am really liking this game a heck of a lot. I can't really find anything wrong with it other than the camera takes a lot of getting used to and the voice acting is really cheesy and there is a lot of it. A solid 8 from me.
I’m only a few hours in but thoroughly enjoying it. This is my first introduction to the Granblue series but I’m already hooked.
Loved it, played all the way through to the final chapter in one sitting. I hope there's some post-game content to do
@Barry_vV I would disagree with you on the difficulty aspect. I'm not as able as other people physically so my reaction times and ability to hit buttons and stuff is reduced, and I rely on easier difficulty to play any game. For those reasons I appreciate this game more. But I understand some others prefer a far more challenging experience.
@VidaJ I'm all for multiple difficulties because of your reason, everybody wants something different from a game. I personally was bummed out that Hard isn't Hard enough, but i accepted it and are enjoying the game nevertheless!
So far its an 7 for me. Story is pretty meh imo but thats alright, and some of the boss battles are kinda repetitive. But the combat, visuals, and music are quite enjoyable.
