DS2, FF16, and Judas… wow. Really wow. Very happy with this. Tekken and SF look great too. I’m looking forward to Banishers as well. And Diablo 4… I want to see more. I can wait to preorder that one, but I’m excited to see if it lives up to expectations. Can’t wait for 2023. Playing a lot of demos this weekend.
I am excited for Jedi, FFXVI and the awaited return of Armored core! I am most curious to see how they are going to change the gameplay and customization.
I also hope they give it a good story and don't turn it into a souls with mechs.
Oh tekken 8 looked hype as well.
It's clear 2023 is going to be an excellent year for games, just a pity more of the Spring ones were pushed back from before Christmas, could have spread things out a bit more.
Don't forget, the Game of the Year award was dedicated to reformed orthodox rabbi Bill Clinton.
That Bill Clinton invader was out of nowhere...like a rando in any Souls game
Was hoping for even a glimpse of Spider-Man but that's probably a ways away. Blue Protocol looked oddly appealing.
June of 2023 is gonna be a very expensive month
Best TGA event in recent years, as far as I'm concerned! Looking forward to buying the following games.
2023
Forspoken - January 24
Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon - March 17
Star Wars: Jedi Survivor - March 17
Horizon: Forbidden West - Burning Shores DLC - April 19
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League - May 26
Final Fantasy XVI - June 22
TBA (No Release Date)
Death Stranding 2
Hellboy: Web of Wyrd
Transformers: Reactivate
@dimi Not for me! I'm only buying FF16 in June, the other two games (Diablo 4 & Street Fighter 6) can wait a few years until they're $25 New or cheaper with all DLC included.
2023 is looking so stacked that time will be my biggest enemy!
Just seen destiny 2 lightfall on the pre order page for £80 ... Absolutely ridiculous
Forspoken,ff16,possibly Judas all look good.
The DLC for horizon and cb2077. I've played both those game to completion twice already ...
DLC is seldom a good idea .
I would say diablo 4 but rumours are it's online only ? They can get stuffed if that's the case..
@Would_you_kindly u wot m8!?!
That has to be for deluxe edition with a load of season passes included.... right?
The sheer amount of stuff going onto my to play list is ridiculous, my poor wallet!
@Would_you_kindly it’s £40 for the standard edition in my app
I’m so happy for DS2 and Jedi Survivor! Can’t wait for both sequels.
@Mintie I could only see destiny 2: lightfall + annual pass for £80 , lightfall on its own is £40 still seems ridiculous to me
What do you think of this year's PS5, PS4 announcements?
Me : YUCK
@Would_you_kindly everything this gen has been £10 too much and its really slowed down my spending and made me much less likely to take a risk... Probably not what the publishers/platform holders intended.
Nothing at all for me.
2023 is still going to be pretty good, though.
Didn’t Forspoken get a demo launch on PS5? I don’t see any articles about it.
@commentlife, loads of articles about it if you google it, but I’ve just checked PSN in the UK and I can’t see it yet
Yeah... My PS5 game list exploded.
Single player story driven games up and down the list. Love it!
I really enjoyed the show last night. Better than recent years. I will add that the show was at a pretty reasonable time for basically all of North, Central, and South America...not just the USA.
There are many countries in the Western hemisphere believe it or not. LoL 😆
Top 3 announcements for me were :
1. Remnant 2
2. Judas
3. HELLBOY: Web Of Wyrd
Super stoked for all 3 of those!
Jedi Survivor
Suicide Squad
Death Stranding 2
A lot of other stuff looked really cool though. And that's without Alan Wake 2, Max Payne, Wolverine, Spider-Man 2 etc.
Even Cyberpunk looked amazing, but every time I load in outside the diner where I left off, it still feels rubbish even with patches :/ maybe one day I'll start a new game instead to relearn it before picking up where I left off after one billion crashes.
Here goes my pesonal round up:
Death Stranding 2: Meh tbh. More curious if Kojima will change the playstyle. Keep the walking-sim extravaganza or lean more towards horror as he´s been recently implying? falling back to classic MGS gameplay? Only certainty is it will have cringe-worthy questionable moments that his fans will defend as "misunderstood", "quirkyness" or "social commentary".
Horizon FW Burning Shores: Would have loved to see gameplay. No opinion really, still haven't played Forbidden West but I had a lot of fun with Zero Dawn and its DLC and this is basically more of the same.
Judas: This one was a big surprise. I was just thinking the other day 'what ever happened to Ken Levine´s narrative legos concept?'
Looks very Bioshock-y but I'm more interested to know about the mechanics. Maybe something in the vein of Arkane's Prey: Mooncrash and Deathloop?
Very much looking forward to this one.
Armored Core VI: Game of the show right here.
New Armored Core by a Post-Souls From Software? SIGN ME UP.
Remnant II + Lords of the Fallen: Both of these looked pretty good and the original games had potential so I'm keeping my eye on these two.
Company of Heroes 3: This was a nice one because I very much wanted to play it but my potato laptop would have exploded if I tried to install it.
Space Marine 2: Not really a WH40K fan and didn't play the original game, but it looked like some nice visceral fun.
Hades 2: This one was a big surprise. Supergiant Games first sequel to their latest (and best). Very very looking forward to this one. (Ok, now: when the sequel to Transistor?!)
Final Fantasy XVI: It's looking insanely good. Not crazy about the j-pop/anime looks that plague every jrpg but the combat and enemy/creature design look superb.
Diablo IV: I should be more excited about this one. Going to need to hype myself up on youtube I guess.
Star Wars: Jedi Survivor: Not a Star Wars fan, won't get it. Now that we got that out of the way, it looked pretty good so for any fans this looks like a day one.
Suicide Squad: Another meh. You've done it, entertainment industry, you've milked Harley Quinn dry. Move along now.
Street Fighter VI + Tekken 8: As a superficial fighting fan both of these look like good fun.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty: Still a question mark for me. Will they add more RPG gameplay and fidelity to the open world or is it still more pretty-looking window dressing? The casting of Idris Elba makes me wary CDPR is leaning towards the latter.
Crash Team Rumble: Why not Crash Team Racing 2?
Hellboy Web of Wyrd: Big fan of the mignolaverse so I'm looking forward to seeing more of this one.
Atomic Heart: Looks like one of those quiet games that comes out of nowhere to become a sleeper hit.
Banishers: Need to see more to form an opinion. Looks interesting.
I'm officially on the FF16 hype train!
I was hoping kojma would make fresh new ips each time, to see his creative side but I guess we just get another sequel, Such a shame.
All I can hear is my wallet crying next year
@Would_you_kindly Are British?
@cburg are you asking if I'm British ? , Yeah I'm from England
