By the looks ofit ..I'm glad I didn't watch
I enjoyed this and the nintendo direct. Lots of good games coming our way.
I really like the baby steps concept, I hope they can make a full game thats interesting...
You keep using that word "all" yet I don't see Roblox or Foamsters anywhere? 🤷♂️
@rjejr Because we're still doing this thing called "working" close to midnight.
Final Fantasy and Spider-Man look great and all (and yay for Tales of Arise DLC!), but in terms of sheer announcements/surprises it was pretty low key.
@Oz_Momotaro
"There's something not quite right with Sony's marketing strategy"
If markettings job is to sell consoles and make record profits (and it is), then they are clearly succeeding extremely well. Your clearly not a reflection of the gaming public.
I wanted to see more Spider-Man 2, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin, and Helldivers 2, in that order. I got about half of what I wanted and had some interesting extras sprinkled in. Plus Helldivers 2 and Rebirth for release dates. I'm quite happy.
Quite a bit there I'm looking forward to, can't wait to try Foamstars in two weeks time and it seems I now have to buy Tales of Arise again, hopefully it gets added to PS Plus before the DLC comes out.
I’m on blackout for Spider-Man 2 and FFVII Rebirth, so I’m glad I didn’t watch it live. Other than that, there doesn’t seem like there was much for me other Helldivers 2.
I'd like to see some legislation introduced to limit or stop linear games. They have no place in a civilized society.
@Sequel yeah we need more open world games because we all have infinite time
Do we really need a round up for 5 announcements? Lol
The Princess Peach game really stole the show for me
Where is the PSVR2 game Aces of Thunder at. It just dropped right off the radar.
My expectations with Sony are already low and they left it low after this.
As someone that has stated on here many times that i only use PS consoles for PS exclusives. There wasn’t much at this show for me. But i knew that going in, so i am not disappointed. For people that only game on PS, i would like to think there was a decent amount shown.
2023 has truly spoilt us with games.
Marvel, Final Fantasy and live service games over and over again. I really hope Sony has something else as well for us in the near future. Not everyone likes these games. Glad for those how do though. I was expecting a death Stranding 2 release date at least
@LiamCroft And it's appreciated! Waking up at 5am for work and having all the SOP coverage available - cheers.
@Odium Assuming you're familiar with the original FF VII you were right to stay away - they showed A LOT.
Not too many new announcements in this show, right? I mean, this was this was the same with the Nintendo Direct, but those new announcements rock!
No stellar blade, no Astrobot:(
Didn't watch it but looks like it was a disappointing showing. No Stellar blade and no Little Devil Inside?? Huge let down imo.
I'll get Spiderman 2 later. RE4 DLC will be good, but need to play base game first. Otherwise, this had very little. The Nintendo Direct was much better; more games, both new and returning classics.
I honestly wanted to see more of Stellar Blade, unfortunate :/
Most excited for Baby Steps. That looks fun
@Oz_Momotaro You need to read more carefully mate. At no point did I state what I felt or wanted, and at no point did I say I thought they were doing a good job.
I pointed out that marketting exsists to grow the user base and sell consoles/games. Sony are absolutely killing it with sales, so objectively, they doing a great job by this definition of success.
Subjectively, whilst Im not one of the entitled moaning minnies that seem to make up the bulk of push's readership, I do have concerns at Sonys communication stratagey over the last few years. However, Im loving this gen and have found many excellent titles to play. Shame we have no idea whats coming from Sony 1st party, but given their sales I dont expect any change and Ill just have to wait with everyone else to find out. In the meantime, Ive never had a backlog so huge and compelling as I have now in 40 + years of adult gaming, and Ive no reason to doubt Sony will offer more compelling titles and announce them when they are ready.
It was a good show, FF7 looks good. But was anything noteworthy really announced? It was more updates to games we have seen before several times. It's what stopped the show being anything more than meh/good
We are still waiting for some kind of roadmap after no showcase last year, 2 SoP and a showcase this year. It's bizarre
@Sakai Which is exactly what Sony said it would be. Updates on already-announced games.
@Marquez and that would be fine if the communication over the last 2 years had been better, but it hasn't been.
But FF7 continues to look good
@Sakai Agree and yes, every cloud has a silver lining... with Cloud in it!
I expected more indies. FF7 was neat, though.
It was better than I expected ,spiderman 2 looks fantastic
@Marquez I definitely am. I’m glad I stayed away, Square has a tendency to spoil their own games in trailers, I’d rather avoid that if I can.
@Marquez Not a problem, thank you!
Final 7 OOHH YYEEEAAAHHHHH
i got shivers.
...
and baby steps was weirdly interesting
No stellar blade? Are they saving it for tokyo game show?
@LiamCroft 👍
@Oz_Momotaro from your point of view maybe but since playstation is selling like hotcakes its obvious its working for sony
@Tatarimokke that's on kojima productions dude, if they're not ready with a release date what makes you think that's sony's fault???
@Titntin "entitled moaning minnies that seem to make up the bulk of push's readership" LOOOOL that's 90% of pushsquare traffic, this people are insufferable.
@LordBakemono no sorry I know it's not Sony's fault, that meant to be a separate thought at the and of my comment as I expected some info on DS2 as a possible third party announcement. Sorry for not being clear
