The Until Dawn PS5 and PC remake is now available, and you may be wondering if and when we're going to review it. As one of Sony's first-party releases for 2024, we'd be remiss to skip this one. However, we won't have a review ready for you just yet.
Review copies were only sent out yesterday and, while there's no embargo to adhere to in this case, we want to ensure we're properly putting the game through its paces. Push Square editor Sammy Barker is on the case, playing through the revamped slasher horror adventure, and will be able to deliver his assessment in the coming days.
Because of the late code distribution, it's unlikely you'll see many reviews of Until Dawn for a little while. Still, if you dare venture over to YouTube, there's already lots of footage of the game due to some early retail copies getting into players' hands.
Are you planning on playing the Until Dawn remake? Will you be waiting for reviews before you make your decision? Tell us in the comments section below.

Yeah my copy came today going to wait for it to get dark outside then I will be jumping in
"Review copies were only sent out yesterday"
That's funny, because I've already played through it. Got that one super early for whatever reason.
@dschons How was it?
It looks fantastich visually but there's a big change in vibe with the lighting 🤔 not sure how I feel about it - "It's now Dawn" would be a more appropriate name.
@Voltan Let me put it this way: I can see why they sent review copies that late.
@dschons Ah, that's too bad... I've platinumed the original and wouldn't mind a new playthrough with this to see the updated material, but not at this price point. Might still go for it at a serious discount down the line, unless it's completely unplayable?
I'll get it eventually, but Silent Hill 2 take priority.
Why do I want a review of a game from 9 years ago?
I hope the review arrives until dawn
Does it use the PS5 camera like the PS4 version did to capture the faces of the players during the jump-scares?
@dschons welp...
Been reading it plays worse than the PS4 version at times along with other technical issues. If that is the case, just shows that not everything needs a remake, remaster, or redo.
Definitely going to be a game that will get improvement patches over time. Probably not going to review too well.
sigh All these people critiquing a game they haven't played yet. And the "I've heard on the internet..." posts are exhausting.
I loved the original. I got the remake last night and love it all over again. It really felt like I was playing a new game from the changes.
Here's a really good idea...if you don't like the game then don't buy it and go back to playing Fortnite.
