Another week has concluded, but there's no let up in the release schedule. Gran Turismo 7 is out now on PlayStation consoles, and we're honestly struggling to keep up with all the gaming goodness.

Elden Ring. That is all.
Stephen Tailby, Associate Editor
I’ve been dying to play more OlliOlli World, but I made the mistake of buying Elden Ring, like a fool. This weekend will probably be a mix of the two.

This is the first weekend in a while where I haven't had a review to focus on. Therefore, I'm finally diving into Horizon Forbidden West.
Jamie O'Neill, Reviewer
My nonsensical game collecting brain left Team Sonic Racing gathering dust on the shelf, but I became captivated by its Team Adventure mode when it joined March 2022's PS Plus line-up, so I've kept the boxed version in case the digital PS4 game disappears in 20 years' time. Yet, will Schrödinger's Blu-ray still eventually suffer disc rot if I never break the box's seal?
Phew, there's been a lot of games lately, hasn't there? What are you playing this weekend? Let us know in the comments section below.

When life is not getting in the way I will be switching between HFW and GT7, really loving GT so far, a lovely ambiance to it between races 😎
Elden Ring. It's not a game, it's a way of life.
Horizon forbidden west, everybody’s golf and Im going to check out the last of Kirby II demo on the switch.
Gt7 and Horizon Forbidden West.
Two amazing games! Good time to be a gamer!
Of course it's Gran Turismo 7 and Horizon Forbidden West, both on PS5.
Still Horizon. I was up until 4am again with it last night.
Elden Ring is still waiting for me to give it a proper go too. I still have pre-launch hype for that one because I haven't really started it yet.
Still Horizon Forbidden West. I'm working through all the side missions and upgrades because I don't want the game to be over yet, but soon I'll be doing [[main line story mission]] Faro's Tomb which I assume starts the slide into the endgame.
Never been this happy since RDR2. What a time I'm having with HFW & ER. I had a trophy pop for me for felling a "Great Enemy" with only 2 tries in ER and I'm like "eh...I don't think he was that Great". Then I realized I've actually gotten stronger, wielding a heavy sword just one shotting a lot of enemies. Then it was on to some catacombs where I finished off another boss first try with about 3 STRIKES no joke. So see...ye who fear From games, don't be.
When games like HFW has difficulty options and you can beat it without using half the weapons, items or perks you acquire, it's easy for some reviewers to sleep on it. Perhaps that's why From doesn't want difficulty options so everything you find feels extremely vital. I still give both games 10/10.
Playing GT 7, it's my first Gran Turismo game, and I'm really enjoying it, I'm playing it with the motion controls and it's super fun. I also will be continuing with Elden Rings, currently in Clara Manor.
GT7. I didn't know I needed Music Rally in my life. Loving the game overall, but mostly the Dual Sense implementation, the amazing graphics, soundtrack and the improved engine sounds.
Cooking time. 🫕🍜🍳
I will play My Universe Cooking Star Restaurant PS4.
Mostly Elden Ring and as much as I love it, I've hit a roadblock with one particular boss, so might need to explore elsewhere or grind a bit. Might fire up Gran Turismo 7 to chill out to instead. Have a good one folks!
Playing tokyo mirage session #FE encore on the switch after I dropped the wiiU version about 3 years ago.
Also some races in forza horizon 5 on the XSX.
Beat bravely default on the 3ds yesterday and it was absolutely amazing. Can’t wait to play bravely second and bravely default 2.
No ps5 this weekend.
Elden Ring. Probably nothing else for months to come.
Swapping between HFW and GT7, loving them both but HFW just keeps drawing me back in, love the world they created. Both are a great showcase for the dualsense though!
Still playing horizon taking my time. Been upgrading my legendary gear and farming for shards. Keep forgetting to use my skill points I’ve got 70 this morning
PS5: Moar Elden Ring! So hard to put it down.
Series X: Shadow Warrior 3. Couldn’t resist grabbing one of those grey market keys for $13… I feel somewhat ashamed.
Currently preparing for heading back to work in which being around people is now making me anxious rather than working from home, so I'm chilling playing HFW, just de-fogging the whole map and gathering materials. Really enjoying my time with Aloy.
GT7 and Witch Queen post campaign quests/seasonal activities. That campaign was amazing. I didn't expect Bungie to drop their best work ever but I'm glad they did. I might play some ER or HFW but I'm getting burned out out on 3rd person open world games.
Elden Ring, no idea how far I'm in but stuff is starting to beat the snot out of me quite handily in the area I'm now at. Love it!
Tip for anyone playing solo only and in need of Rune Arcs. Head to the Grace Point called Beside the Rampart Gaol at Castle Morne. There's an open cell right beside the Grace with 5 rats inside that drop them for fun. I've just farmed 120 in around 90 minutes. Have a good weekend all!
Everybody’s Golf VR and Kingdoms of Amular Re-Reckoning (and really trying to resist buying GT7)
Over 40 hours into HFW, preparing for the Kulrut but not before I finish taking Aloy on a photo shoot. Also some Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania and boy some of the courses are brutal but still a fun time!
Have a great weekend everyone.
Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons
Elden Ring and Horizon FW
My copy of Gran Turismo 7 25th Anniversary Edition still hasn’t turned up from Amazon. Also just noticed that the preorder bonuses that I got, (key ring, bonus credits, and digital content) have now been removed from my order. Absolute ****s.
Elden ring surprise,surprise..i was hoping to get down to the golf course either today or tomorrow but the weathers not on my side..oh well elden ring it is then..
Still smashing through FW, trying to get all the trophies I can before the finale, and then in between for a break a bit of GT7. Which so far seems fantastic, haven't played a racing game since FM7, so it's nice to get back on the tracks.
Still on Horizon and still nowhere near the end. The game is huuuuge if you want to do a lot of the side stuff.
Gran Turismo 7. Only game I ever pre-ordered and the main reason I bought a PS5
Horizon and GT7. Played a ton of Gran Turismo yesterday and love it (my first GT game). I feel like I became such a better driver in such a short period of time. Also I want to finish Horizon before I pick Elden Ring back up....and I want to finish Elden Ring before I pick Cyberpunk back up....yeah I need more hours in the day.
God knows, I've treated myself over the past couple of weeks so have gone and gave myself too much to play.
Most likely try to finish off Cyberpunk, crack on with GT7 and if I finish Cyberpunk, then I'll get started on a new game of... Something
I bought Elden Ring this week but only briefly played, im diehard From Software fan but as soon as i hit the open world it turned me off. I had the same intial reaction with Seikiro but ended up loving it, so will return but got distracted by an amazing game i never finished that is leaving Game Pass in a week:
Nier Automata
Burned through Route A this week and loved it. Asides from some minor pretentious moments, it has a haunting world, involving story and incrediable incrediable combat. Am burning through Route B now n its abit...meh. Sortve like if u had to replay RE4 as Ashley...its an intresting idea but couldve been streamlined a bit. Trying to get through it and Route C (the proper story continuation) before it leaves Game Pass next week. Elden Ring will have to wait!
You all know what I'm playing, 84 hours in........... it's a full time job now, screw sleep😫😫😫
I got Elden Ring a whole week ago, so why does it still feel like Elden Ring has got me?
Still hopelessly addicted to Horizon Forbidden West. I keep trying to progress the story, but every time I do o get sidetracked by a billion other things.
This game is so good.
Elden Ring, of course! The best game ever made? It’s possible. My top 3 has been on lock since the 90s but it’s a contender.
Also I have been here 7 years as of this week - stumbled over here after CVG shut down, was impressed with all the reviews you guys did for smaller releases but much less impressed with the no swearing policy! It’s been great to be around for 364 episodes of WAYPTW - keep up the great work 👍🏻👍🏻
Gt7for me, currently doing license a and trying to get gold on the A9 its bloody hard got to knock off 200th second been trying for an hour nearly lol. Great game though loving it
Elden Ring! O Elden Ring! Therefore Elden Ring ahead.
Elden Ring if I have some time, played about 6 hours and just exploring at the moment. So far I'm really impressed even though I've only fought one minor boss so far. This game really has made me dust off the PS4, even if I don't have a PS5 yet.
Trying to nail Gold badges in Gran Turismo 7 licences - addictive as hell !!
The utterly superb Elden Ring - gaming as an art form. This has stopped me playing anything else at all including HFW which has been.put on the back burner
Have a great weekend guys ❤️
@lolwhatno
I never like mainstream games like FIFA / Madden / Fortnite / Zelda / Forza / Grand Turismo, etc as they are absolutely boring and uninteresting for me. I don't like soccer, don't like realistic racing, don't like adult things, don't like shooting games except Ratchet & Clank, don't like a lot of nowadays trendy things.
I don't care what is the most popular things right now. I don't even want to get into those euphoria. I stay away from that popularity.
I only play games for kids and matched with my interest, mostly the unpopular games since there is a hidden gem from the unpopular things.
Oh, excuse me.
I have some customers waiting for the foods from My Universe Cooking Star Restaurant.
The amazing nioh 2 with all the dlcs.one of the best games ever made.sonic team racing.its a really good kart racing game.darkest dungeon to me streets of rage 4 and darkest dungeon is the 2 best indie games ever.and manhunt.the excellent controversial rockstar masterpiece.watching michigan basketball.and dont breathe 2.watching whats happening.good times.sanford and sons.saved by the bell.martin.word up son
Elden Ring though I might take a little bit of a break and jump into Horizon Zero Dawn so I can prep for Horizon Forbidden West which I want to get to at some point soon.
Horizon Forbidden West. Might as well copy and paste that as it's going to be my answer for many more weekends as it's huge and also the biggest reason why I have a PS5.
Since I have a three day weekend, I may play more of The Artful Escape on my Series X and more of The Wolf Among Us also on my PS5 to mix things up, but it's still mainly all about Horizon.
More Horizon Forbidden West for me. I’m 30 hours in and loving every single minute. I wish I had either Elden Ring or Gran Turismo 7 to play when I’m done, but I’ve still got Demon’s Souls that I’ve not yet started. Over on Series S, I’m still having a blast with Forza Horizon 5. It may not be GT7, but it’s absolutely glorious to play!
GT7, it's been another long wait, at last something built for the PS 5
@KilloWertz Same here, dude. I’m having a blast with HFW, and I think I’ll be playing it for some time to come.
@Gloamin Thanks, man. I’m really looking forward to Demon’s Souls.
After 50 hours I'm done with horizon. I will be going back to it throughout the year for the platinum but at the moment I want to focus on other games. I will restart cyberpunk to really experience the next-gen upgrade and also as the female V to see her romance with Judy. I downloaded ghost runner so I may try that as well.
So, I finished the main story in Horizon Forbidden West and I’m not sure how I feel about it (the story I mean). I didn’t not like it but the ending feels very abrupt - like they made a late decision to hold something back for the inevitable sequel or dlc. It was an ‘oh, ok then…’ ending, rather than a ‘wow, that was awesome!’ ending.
I really enjoyed the game overall but I didn’t feel as satisfied as I did when I finished the first game. It feels almost like the opening act of a trilogy or something.
Also… final mission story spoilers… Regalla, who just died in the final mission, was still alive in my base after the end credits… she’s still sharpening her blade in the ‘basement’ 🤣
That only added to the strangeness of the ending.
Still going for 100% though. I’m currently on 76.56% and 62 hours game time.
Something about an Old Crown, er, no, that’s not quite right…Aged Necklace? Not right either… Geriatric Disk!
I'm having a torrid love affair with the majestic Elden Ring. I'll be spending my gaming time this weekend searching for a good weapon, that scales with faith.
I've just treated meself to a Series S (I'm a dirty rotten traitor) so I'll be having a go on that.
I decided to postpone Horizon Forbidden West, because I must upgrade my TV 1st. I'm playing Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 slowly for the same reason. For sure I will try to finish AC Revelations (great story!), and maybe play Valkyria Chronicles and Kingdoms of Amalur, to clear my slate.
HFW, GT7 and Cyberpunk 2077
Riding machines, driving machines and some sweet Judy Alvarez.
Horizon: Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7 and Onee Chanbara Origin
@Daleaf same here. It is a wind up, surely?
Shadow Warrior 2 before I play Shadow Warrior 3 Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart and Metroid Dread. If I'm in the mood this evening I'll try and finish Crash 4, I had to stop playing it before because of frustration let's just say. Trying to earn those Gold and Platinum Relics is ridiculously hard.
@lolwhatno
Welcome to my gaming world.
My games are mostly peoples here never knew nor care about.
"No, I meant any game that most people play"
I don't play games what are most people play.
I have different gaming interest.
If i played some of games most people play, the games are coincidentally matched with my interest such as Animal Crossing New Horizons or Pokemon games.
Elden Ring and HFW like everyone else. Man GT7 is tempting even though I’m more an arcade racer guy. The hype and FOMO have me itching to pick it up and throw it in the mix.
Finished Sekiro all endings. 3 trophies away from the platinum. Skills, Tools and replaying the game. Incredible game loved it, one of the greatest games of all time. Im now playing Horizon Forbidden West which is graphically impressive but needs to show some new tricks so hopefully it does the further I get. Also continuing Dying Light 2 and Far Cry 6
Still at it with King of Fighters 15. Practicing those combos.
I am not playing Horizon Forbidden West, Elden Ring, Gran Turismo 7, or Cyberpunk. Yes, shocker, but there are a couple of us out here! 😂
I’m playing the ALDI version of those games — Dirt 5 and Mass Effect.
Going back to Dynasty Warriors 7 on PS3.
Mahjong by Microsoft (Android) - Dailies and challenge packs as always.
Dragon Mania Legends (Windows Phone) - Still playing this in bursts.
Ridiculous Marathon (Windows Phone) - Stopped playing and need to get back to it to finish it off.
@Loftimus haha yea, kerp watching the demonstration but it makes me slower if amything lol. Actually given up on it now, if its the only trophy i need for the plat then i will go back to it. Tried another 30mins before quitting lol. Back to racing now lol
@Tsushima Sekiro skill points were a grind. I spent almost 7 hours in NG+ for that last trophy.
GT7 whenever I’m not on daddy duties.
Love it so far, had me reminiscing about carrying around a memory card to race my friends in GT3. Can’t wait to reunite with my Skyline and tune her up to the moon. Nostalgia is a powerful thing.
Elden Ring and propably nothing else for weeks to come maybe I boot up a session of Shadow Warrior 3 on PSnow, I liked the first level....
After completing forbidden west-excellent game. I started to play Cyberpunk. Now when the game was 1st announced I had no interest in it. I’m not interested in the whole sci fi setting-I can’t stand it. But after playing cyberpunk on Ps5, I was pleasantly surprised, I really enjoyed playing the game & was in awe of the beautiful night city, stunning game, adequate story, gunplay-I felt was a bit off tho. Had a few glitches-npc stuck in walls. But I loved the game, which as it’s set in a noir sci fi world is def not something I would have thought. Just a shame that this wasn’t the game that released on day one. Looking forwards to what’s next from cd projekt red. And hopefully lessons have been learned for them.
Elden ring! I don’t want to add anything else
I platted Horizon Forbidden West the other day so now it's back to New Game Plus of Ghost of Tsushima on PS5.
I started another playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 to see if I'll enjoy it more this time around on my Series S.
I'll also probably play some Fire Emblem Three Houses (5th playthrough) on the Switch.
Have a good weekend everybody!
Elden Ring on my Series X and GT7 on my PS5.
@weR1youR2Podcast Yeah Definitely a grind for skill points and the Tools are a grind also for materials. Will new game plus at some point
1. GT7
2. Elden Ring
3. Forbidden West (still most of my time)
Best Gaming weekend in years!... I am like a kid in a candy store 😊
GT7 mostly. I'm. addicted. I'll probably spend some time with Elden Ring too though.
Like most people I will be playing elden ring. But also gt7 when I need a break from being pounded, and it takes two with my son.
I’m on the final mission in Horizon Forbidden West. I don’t throw this term a lot, but this game is a masterpiece. In fact, I think it’s up there with Mass Effect 2 as far as sequels go.
After HFW, I’m going to start Elden Ring and Triangle Strategy. I’ve played an hour or two of ER and liked it a lot, but I didn’t want to play two open worlds at once so I put it aside. I can’t wait to dive back into it, though.
I'm midgame in Horizon: Forbidden West and just got to Threed in Earthbound.
I’m playing through Super Mario Odyssey. Hopefully I’ll finish it before Kirby and the Forgotten Land comes out at the end of the month.
Went of gaming a fair bit this year but just got GT7. Loving it so far. It's as difficult and deep as you want it to be.
I've got so much to play but I'm so deep into Dark Souls 2 that I can't really see myself starting Horizon or Elden Ring until I've finished it off. Most of the base game is clear so just making my way through the DLC this weekend before finally polishing it off in the week
Seriously though, I know it's been said, but this year has been absolutely insane, especially for PlayStation players. I think we could draw a line under the year 2 months in and I'd be more than happy
Still working my way through Horizon Forbidden West
Alternating between Far Cry 6 & Returnal.
@kyleforrester87 what are those top 3? FF9 for sure is #1
I'm knee deep in both Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West, but am still contemplating GT7... I'm sure I must be wrong, and that YouTube footage is a bad yardstick, but the graphics look kind of basic to me? When playing directly on a PS5 presumably it looks really impressive?
@MightyDemon82 oof, it’s FF9 and FF7 locked in an eternal battle for the top spot. Metal Gear Solid 1 at number 3 🤗
Although FF9 didn’t quite make the 90s so I guess my original comment was a lie
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty on the Vita and I just started Persona 5 Royal yesterday. Hoping to finish it by Monday.
I'm all about Horizon Forbidden West this weekend and many weekends to come. Loving every minute of it.
Finished Horizon now onto beloved Elex 2
Cyberpunk 2077 on ps5 and Elden ring I've just murdered a a dragon and made it's babies motherless I felt bad but wanted to level up to progress more sorry baby dragons 😂😂
Also no more heroes 3 on switch
Pokemon Leaf Green on gba and sonic rush 1 on ds
GT7 and Forbidden West
Continue Forbidden West. Been doing so many side quests that I'm not progressing much in the main quest.
Elden Ring. That’s all
Playing a bit of Elden Ring (greatest game ever made!) and Gran Turismo 7. Greatest Gran Turismo but struggling with the whole do the license thingy to unlock more of the game. Oh well.
I’m still playing through Horizon Forbidden West, working towards the platinum trophy in it.
Hi there fellow gamers.
This past few weekends have been out of this world gaming wise.
First it was the fantastic HFW, then the amazing Elden Ring and this weekend is GT7. I cannot remember any other three weeks so full of phenomenal games for us to play. All 3 on PS5.
But wait, there´s more: Triangle Strategy for the Switch......
Serously though, why does the days only have 24 hours???
I just don´t have enough time to dedicate myself to all this great gaming goodies.
But as for this weekend, is all about GT7 on PS5.
And boy does the game make me feel like I´m playing GT3, my all time favourite GT game. It is so good and challenging as I remember. And some of those missions are super hard to get the gold trophy. But just like any challenging game, you just need to persist, learn, endure and learn some more until you can "master" it. What an incredible three weeks for gaming.
Cheers, stay safe and happy gaming to us all
@KingPev Hi there friend.
Absolutely agree with your comment.
As much as I was enjoying my time with HFW, Elden Ring just sucks you in and soes not want to let go.
I have 26 hours only, but have beaten 16 Bosses and have gone to quite a few different locations that I had no idea you could go there or that they even existed.
Did you know there is and underground map region? That one kinda blew me away. And I got there just by exploring the world and being curious with what else am I gonna find in the next place. And that feeling of finally getting that gold trophy in GT7 is as great as finally defeating a difficylt Boss in a Souls game.
It is undeniably a fantastic time to be a gamer, no doubt.
Cheers, stay safe and have a good one
MAIN GAME = playing Yakuza 6. the gameplay loop is just so fun. story is ramping up, which means this ramp is barely an incline cuz i know there'll be more. what a series indeed.
SIDE GAME = N/A
Horizon Forbidden West. Just OUTSTANDING!
@weR1youR2Podcast @Tsushima Hi there friends.
Loved Sekiro when it came out and finished on both PC and later on PS4 for the Platinum trohpy.
The only anoying trophy for me was the experience for getting all the Skills. I actually went to new game plus 3 to get more exp and went to the best farming spot, the one after the big sword guy with armour. Not exactely a fun thing to do.
The only reason that wasn´t so bad was because me and one of my friends were doing the same thing, so we were just having a conversation for a couple of hours as we were taking out enemies, resting and do all of it again. Rinse and repeat....
Oh well, at least the game was pretty good.
Cheers, stay safe and have a good one both of you
@kyleforrester87 Hello there Big Boss.
I almost thought you were going to say Metal Gear Solid 3 was your favourite. But MGS1 is an absolute classic videogame.
I finished that game so many times back then.....
I even memorised almost all the games lines..... Insane, right?
MGS3 and MGs1 are my all time favourites of the franchise.
Do we dare dream of having a MGS1 Remake from Bluepoint?
Cheers, stay safe and have a good one. Salute Big Boss!!!
@buckp25 Hi there friend.
Absolutely. I don´t even know were to turn myself, there´s so many awesome games to experience and enjoy.
And doesn´t even matter wich game it is, as long as your having fun and joy with it. Especially in these times full of turmoil.
Cheers, stay safe and have a good one
@RaZieLDaNtE agreed. The best way to lessen the grind is find something to do while you work through it.
I've gone back to playing Ghost of Tsushima, currently trying to 100% fill the entire world map before I return to the story.
(In Act 3 around the halfway point)
Bit of vice city bit of saints and sinners and a few games of fifa 👍
@RaZieLDaNtE yes GT7 is a true return to the glory days of Gran Turismo after 5 & 6. That feeling of "one more go" for the gold badges is the best.
I'm not as far into Elden Ring as you are but I agree the exploration of the world is a joy and finding those hidden areas gives a true sense of wonder. Its the new Breath of The Wild and Skyrim.
Happy gaming !
@TheArt
Finally GT7 has been released to get get me off my Assassins Creed Valhalla addiction since Christmas.
GT7 is a great game so far, played them all but enjoyed the previous one the least.
On PS5 it’s GT7 with breaks for more Days Gone. Then It will be GT7 and Horizon FB. After that GT7 and what ever else I might play. I think it will be like this for the rest of this year probably. Happy Gaming weekend!
My backlog is embarrassing, I’m still on resident evil8. Real life keeps getting in the way
To buck the trend - after nabbing the PS5 upgrades to the last two Uncharted games (holy cats they’re BEAUTIFUL) I’ve been revisiting the whole “main” series from the start. Finally up (and about 5 hours in) to The Lost Legacy for the weekend… the Chloe-Nadine dynamic is fantastic. 🌟
@Fragile
100% same as me, if it wan’t for GT7 I wouldn’t have a PS5
Was the reason I had one on release day💪🏻
@RaZieLDaNtE did you ever play Twin Snakes? I really hated those cutscenes 😂
I'd like to sink my teeth into GT7, Elden Ring, HFW, the Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 upgrade and Ghost of Tsushima, but I have absolutely no time to play at all. Argh!
@kyleforrester87 I did played Twin Snakes on Game Cube.
Still have my copy somewere.
I am a Mega Fan of this Franchise 😉 And others as well.
Watching some of those over the top cutscenes was both strange and funny at the same time. Plus, we could finally see the actual faces of the charaters, instead of the PSone poligons, even though I still like them that way.
But there was something off with the gameplay of that version.
Not sure what it was though. Maybe you felt the same?
Having said that, can you imagine a MGS1 PS5 Remake like Bluepoint did with Demon`s Souls? With good gameplay controls and all the bells and whistles? Would be day 1 for me.
Cheers, stay safe and enjoy the weekend
Gt7,hfw and cyberpunk
Nothing, I'm, moving house in the morning and everything bar my phone is about to be boxed up!
Miserable
Said I was gonna play Cyberpunk and GT7.
Said I was gonna try to complete Cyberpunk then maybe start something new, along side GT7.
Didn't play Cyberpunk. Absolutely hooked on GT7. Got all my licences and now going back to get gold on the lessons I haven't got gold on.
Also completed the 1st two sets on missions but also going over these to pick up all the golds.
Totally loving this game at the minute.
I'm playing GT 7. I don't like paying full price for games but couldn't wait to play. It doesn't disappoint, sublime.
