We're not sure about where you are, but after what felt like a never-ending winter, the weather is finally improving here. It's not tropical yet, but the sun is shining, the skies are blue, and there are barely any new video games to play. Time to go outside?

I never, ever expected to write this, but I'm hooked on Kingdom Hearts. I completed Kingdom Hearts 3, and then waited impatiently all week for Amazon to deliver the PS4 compilation of the previous games, which arrived on Friday night. I'm already five hours into the first one...
Robert Ramsey, Deputy Editor
I bought Tokyo Xanadu Ex+ in the big weeb sale. Haven't had a chance to properly get into it yet, but I'm a big fan of Falcom's stuff, so I can't see it disappointing. Some FIFA 22 might be in order as well, depending on real world results...
Liam Croft, Assistant Editor
Turns out Hollow Knight is actually pretty good, so I'll keep playing it this weekend.
Aaron Bayne, Video Editor
While a new season of Apex Legends means I'll be starting that battle pass grind once more, I've actually been drawn in by the grooviness of Evil Dead: The Game, which is proving to be my favourite iteration of the Friday the 13th formula.

In preparation for Cotton Fantasy releasing soon, I'm playing a bunch of Cotton cute-'em-up games on PS4, and I still find it fascinating to have access to the retro X68000 Japanese computer port of the original.
Lots of variety from our team this week, then, and we suspect it'll be similar from you. What are you playing this weekend? Let us know below.

Epic Chef PS4 All Day Long.
I really enjoy this game. 😊
I have cleared Magic League and have reached Silver rank in Culinarim League.
Just a little bit more to clear Culinarim League and continue the last part of storyline.
I finally got a fold out table so I can play some of the board games I have accrued recently, going to start with Escape the Dark Castle!
I will be playing the decorating game in time for my new LGC1 tv on the 18th. Maybe squeeze in some Sifu in between.
We usually have a mini PES or FIFA tournament on Cup Final day but this year we are playing Sega International Victory Goal on the Saturn for a change. It should be fun, assuming that these almost 30 year old controllers can stand the hammering.
I am playing .hack//G.U. Last Recode and Evil Dead: The Game. Played several rounds of Evil Dead so far and it’s really good.
@kyleforrester87 nice! My brother is a massive board game fan. He runs a local club over this way.
Me, the wife and kids have been playing Ticket to ride as of late and learning the ropes of Pandemic 😬😬
I've been playing a lot of Guilty Gear Strive this week so maybe more of that. Someone got so upset with me beating them they messaged me through PSN 😂 I've somehow made it to the eighth floor which is an achievement for me. I might also continue with GotG and Flynn son of Crimson.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Call Of Duty Cold War/Vanguard and Evil Dead: The Game all on PS5
Starting A Plague’s Tale! Have a great weekend everyone!
I'll be playing Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster.
I actually beat the game already on Thursday and got the freedom ending (that I've never actually got before playing the game on PS2).
But... I suffered through all 20 Puzzle Boy stages and I'm not letting it go to waste. So I'm reloading an earlier save and going for the True Demon end!
Have a good weekend everyone!
After a terrible stressful week in work, I'm counting down the days until I'm on annual leave. So I'm currently playing Spider Man Miles Morales and loving every second of it. Then I might head back to Skyrim before the madness of Eurovision.
Having a bit of a Remedy blowout. Playing Control Ultimate Edition on PS5, I played it at launch on PS4 Pro and enjoyed it enough, in spite of it being a bit of a broken mess but it's amazing on PS5, totally different experience.
Over on XSX I've got Quantum Break lined up for tomorrow. Never played this even though I had an XBO I just didn't get around to it so looking forward to giving it a go. Have a good weekend all!
Still playing through the GTA V campaign, gotta love Trevor haha! 😀
On my ps5 I'm still playing Ys 8, what a brilliant jrpg it is. Am in the last chapter now but don't want it to end.
On my Xbox im playing cyberpunk 2077 which is okish, nothing spectacular. I also started a bit of eiyuden chronicles as side game.
Life is strange remastered and true colours
Finally got my first PS3 platinum on ratchet and clank a crack in time. I’m gutted that dead space 1&2 aren’t on ps now as I’m only 1 trophy of platinuming them too. Maybe they will be on ps plus premium 🤞🏻So a quiet weekend FA cup final and a BBQ
My 'main' is Cyberpunk whilst my 'starter', 'side dish' and 'dessert' is GT 7.
Both really good games and a treat for the eyes and senses on a PS5.
Will be watching the Cup Final today, don't support either team but as a Spurs fan I'll be rooting for the Reds....for once.
😉
Enjoy your weekend, everyone.
No time to type much this week:
Octopath Traveller PC: Bought it on switch but never picked it up for whatever reason, I got it on sale and got the best version of the game, don't know how it is on xbox but not ps4 yet (weird)
DQ 11 S PC: The pc version saves this games visuals of the switch port, 4k and turning anti-aliasing off gets me the visuals of the original ps4 version and then some, very nice😎
Rogue legacy 2: 14 hours in and I'm addicted, enough said it will now be in rotation for the next 3 years !
I'll be neck deep slaughtering Kandarian demons. Hail to the King, baby. Hail to the King.
Mostly outside in the good weather in the UK but squeezing in some Muramasa on the Vita and Switch backlog Eastward, Ace Attorney Chronicles and Shin Megami Tensei V. Also loving Tunic on Series X and hit a road block on Sifu Vengeance Edition third level boss. Enjoy the weather all!
hell , a lot of things ! since it’s 90 degrees all week and basically until november , i’ll just run the temps up on my ps5 😂 my library is decent enough .
After really enjoying Shadow Warrior 3 I decided to finally give Doom a try last night. Wow, first mission down and I am hooked.
I’ll probably finish off Tomb Raider II this weekend as I’m on the Floating Islands. On the PS5, I’m almost at 240% in Arkham Knight and then I’m on the hunt for a new game to play.
Well a surprise drop for me was salt and sacrifice and i'm really enjoying it..those damn wandering mages are a right nightmare ..if you liked the first game then this is a must and it has a native ps5 version too..enjoy the weekend folks 👍
PS5: Demon’s Souls NG+ run while waiting for Dark Souls: Remastered and Dark Souls 3 to go on sale.
XSX: Code Vein. I’m having a surprisingly good time with it. A little much Japanese fan service for my taste but I can stomach that. I’ll also be continuing my Trek to Yomi playthrough.
Death stranding, episode 11. What a game!
Elden ring, wwe 2k22 best wrestling game I've played since n64 days
@Loftimus I can't get into it at all but the visuals are top notch
Still the boss Elden Ring. 230hrs+ and at this point feels like I've found almost every item and hoarded them with my nook and cranny completionist playstyle. Just can't put the game down, discovery and exploration is so satisfying, what a game!
Sniper elite 3 ultimate edition.amazing game.really good graphics.gameplay is amazing and stealth is fantastic also.and the story is really good also.curse of the dead gods.a really good indie game.its extremely fun.gameplay is really good.darkest dungeon best indie games ever next to streets of rage 4.darkest dungeon is extremely addicted.the narrator in this game is the best ever.back to the pit.fun gameplay.cool boss fight.nice graphics.and a nice story.and the iconic resident evil 4.one of the best games ever made made.the gameplay is amazing and the graphics still looks good.and boss fight is wonderful and the story is good also.watching the movie the night house.and the nba playoffs have been really good.watching sitcoms 📺 tv shows marathon in living color.good times.sanford and sons.saved by the bell.and martin. @Shigurui Ah, Quantum Break. Underrated game! I thought it was great. It’s actually one of very few games I completed on XSX despite only running in 30 fps.
I've finally started Horizon Forbidden West this week which I had delayed due to Elden Ring. I won't lie, the first ten hours or so I wasn't digging it at all (design and graphics aside). But that has turned 180 now that I am deeper into the game and I actually think it's really good. Will keep me occupied for a while.
@Ryany yeah, the first few hours are pure stealth until you unlock your weapons, then there are some epic boss fights to be had. I can see it won't be for everybody though.
@Kidfunkadelic83 that’s awesome, I have been getting into them a little more recently. Need to join a local club really or something.
On playstation 5 I will try and finish the voice of the cards forsaken maiden and carry on with the trails of cold steel 1, I have put elden ring on hold for a week or two as its getting quite hard for me (atlus plains)
On the Nintendo switch I will carry on with fire emblem three houses, currently on chapter 17 with golden deer House and seems to be coming to an end soon.
@playstation1995 yess resident evil 4 is still my favourite game of all time I still remember buying a gamecube just to play that one game. I've completed it at least 20 times
@RogerRoger did you ever play Tomb Raider Chronicles?
I'll be staying at Volcano Manor in Mt. Gelmir this Saturday.
Alas, I'm away this weekend, but I'm off Monday so I'll probably stay up until 4am on Sunday with Elden Ring once I get home.
I'm 190 hours in, still on my first play through.
I usually play through souls games at least 3 times. This might be a long term project.
@MightyDemon82 That's awesome. I tried to really get good at GG, but only could make it to floor 7. I haven't touched it in months, so I can sense I'd be back down at floor 5 if I even tried.
The A500 mini recieved a firmware update to correct the joystick fire button mapping, and adding multi disk ADF support. Will be playing Some Lotus Turbo 2 and 3, and try out some other games and demos I have in ADF format from old Retro Gamer cover discs. Also picked up A Boy and his Blob on Switch, I never completed the on Will, but its a nice little platform puzzler and well suited to portable play
If have time, will also continue with some Horizen on PS4.
Finishing persona 5 strikers and pushing on in Elden Ring
Considering I just experience the birth of my son, I've now got two little ones at home, so if there is time between my lack of sleep, I will be working on becoming the Elden Lord in Elden Ring, taking a few more laps in GT7, or trying to wrap up the platinum in Shadow Warrior 3, which on PSNOW has made it worth playing. It's like taking the B team on Doom Eternal and asking them to make a smaller, fart joke filled game.
I dedicated most of this week to advance in Doom Eternal and complete the Tiranny of King Washington DLC from Assassin's Creed III. I'm about to enter chapter 3, and then gonna mop a feww trophies and platinum AC III. And in Doom, it's the final stretch to finish the campaign. I will play more Horizon FW too, not in a rush with that beautiful world. i'm soaking everything slowly.
Mostly Ghostwire Tokyo this week. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I’m really enjoying it. Easily one of my favourite PS5 games so far. The atmosphere is incredible - creepy, without being full-on horror (I kind of wish it was more horror really but I’m not complaining). Also, petting/feeding the hungry dogs never gets old - soooo cute 🥹😁
Then I woke up this morning to find Robocop in the item shop on Fortnite 😱
GT7 for a bit of a grind, and then some FIFA22
@ErrantRob I'm like a yo-yo, I get so confident that I eventually get thrashing after thrashing but it's a lot of fun. I main Axl and that tends to wind some players up if they don't know his move set. But then players that know their stuff get me in a corner I'm pretty much done for.
@Relygon - Yeah I've heard it's really good. I don't mind 30fps as long as it's a good game. I played through Sable on XSX recently and loved it even though that barely hit 10fps so I'm sure I'll cope lol.
@MightyDemon82 haha I know what you mean with Axl. I main I-No and most players don’t come across her enough to know how to deal with what I do with her. But when they do I’m basically a mop for the floor.
@mrtennis1990 same. It's really good so far too.
New Game + on The Last of Us Part II, Road 96 - which I just downloaded yesterday, The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes, and hopefully some more The Stanley Parable
Completed guardians of the galaxy last night which was brilliant really enjoyed the story.
Just bought sally face which I’ll play on my own and also bought the new Star Wars game to co op with my son.
Been quoted tempted to start final fantasy 9 remaster if I get chance aswell.
Twisted Metal 2 (PS) - On my last playthrough now, I saved Thumper for last.
Dr. Mario World (Android) - I went to play this and forgot the servers closed, rendering it unplayable
ExZeus 2 (Windows Phone) - I don't think I can top my scores anymore, so I dare say my journey is ending with this one.
Hi there fellow gamers,
After more than 218 hours of playing, helping people defeat Bosses, finishing and Platinum the jurggernaut of a game that is Elden Ring, I´m now ready for something else.
So this weekend I´ll be playing the following games:
And more Mass Effect Andromeda on PC with MODS.
Cheers, stay safe and well everyone and happy gaming weekend to us all
@Shepherd_Tallon I usually do, too. But with ER, to my surprise, while I felt that first playthrough was absolutely magical, doing all of that a second time seriously feels like a chore, lol. I feel like exploring that huge open world thoroughly is fun ONCE. But there's always the option to just do what you want and make up for the lost XP at grind spots. I absolutely love Elden Ring but replaying the other From Software games felt much more comfortable for me. That's probably the biggest advantage of the more linear approach
Cyberpunk 2077. Still highly enjoying it.
@Lavalera is dead to me for saying otherwise....
FiFaFa 22, asscreed Valhalla and hell let loose, so I guess I’m a mainstream gamr now, I’m fine with this. 🏈 🗡 🔫
I'm on the last level of Sifu but I may need to go back to some of the previous levels to lower my age a bit. The third boss raised it quite a bit and it's starting to become quite and obstacle now.
@ErrantRob @MightyDemon82
Hey there friends!
We should definitely play some matches one of these days.
Funny how both of you main two of the most anoying charaters to deal in Strive 😜 My main is Chipp and I´m kinda rusty, but the game is always fun.....
Also congrats on the birth of your son ErrantRob.
Cheers, stay safe and have a good one you two
Working all weekend so nothing. 😢
@TheArt @Shepherd_Tallon Hi there friends.
I know exactely what you guys mean.
It´s been awhile since a game has consumed me for so long and in such a way that it was all I could think and talk about.
Such an addicting game. And even though I did EVERYTHING in that game, I still want to play more of it, you know? Play with different builds (only tried 3 of them), help more people defeat Malenia (did you know she is the Blade of Miquella?) and do some Pvp and co-op with friends. And all that after almost 220 hours.... What a fantastic open world game FromSoftware made. What a game indeed.
Cheers, stay safe and have a good one you two
WWE 2K22, going though My Rise mode on there. Also King of Fighters 15 with some online Matches.
@Shigurui That’s great, man! I still have a hard time adjusting to 30 fps. Before I went “full console” I was your typical PC gamer. Spending astronomical sums on my rig, only to salivate over my own benchmarks… at that point I decided it was time to quit cold turkey.
@Shigurui @Relygon Hi there friends.
Quantum Break is an underrated game imo.
Played on my PC and had a great time playing with time powers, plus the story and characters wich is Remedy strong point.
And Control (especialy on PS5) is probably the best and my personal favourite Remedy game since Max Payne and Alan Wake. The game is just fun.
Can´t wait to see more of Alan Wake 2.
Cheers, stay safe and have a good one you two
PS5
Destiny 2
Got back into this only recently so a whole bunch of lore and content is vaulted, however, doesnt matter. Gameplay is so slick, Legendary difficulty in co op is just the right level of challenge with fun. Am proper hooked on this for the first time.
PC Game Pass
Trek to Yomi
Love it. Am a huge Kurosawa fan, and while this is bit more genre pulpy then his output, the visual style is on point. The combat, is quick and addictive and levels are jawdropping. Play this game people, its fantastic!
Switch
No More Heroes 2
Ovef halfway. Big improvment over the first, enjoying it alot so far.
I'm taking in the glorious sights and sounds of Night City in Cyberpunk 2077. Just sitting in a parked car whilst it's raining and looking out at the neon glow through the rain streaked window is very atmospheric. Plays brilliant on PS5.
I'll hopefully get through a few more chapters in Final Fantasy VII Remake (PS5), maybe a few races on GT7 and possibly look into the next game to clear from the PS4 backlog.
Have a good weekend and happy gaming all.
I'm playing Slay the Spire and having a great time with it. I recently finished Cyberpunk 2077 (did take the different endings just to see how they approached it) and only have 6 trophies left, but I really can't be arsed playing it any more.
@KilloWertz haha, I was hoping I would see it as spectacular but it doesn't blow me away as I hoped It would. Maybe it's because i prefer magic or melee combat over gunplay in those kind of games. But who knows, maybe it will start to blow me away further in. But good to hear you are enjoying it
Beat Cuphead a few days ago and debating whether to go for the platinum (only need to do the pacifist runs and full expert run) or jump into some else. With the news of a Furi ps5 port I may jump into the ps4 version again that I never finished. In the boss rush mood now.
@Loftimus Hi there friend.
Death Stranding is not a game, but an experience like no other.
Never would I thought that I could have so much fun and enjoyment from doing deliveries, planning the best and most optimal courses, building structures for myself and other players, all while avoiding BTs and MULES.
Had an amazing moment when I was building a road on my own to link one of the thougest zones, crafting the materials needed,, aplying them, going back and forth and got half way. After a few days when I returned to the game, not only the road was finished, but had a lot of likes from players who helped complet it and used it.
Put a big smile on my face and made my day.
Also the story is great and one of a kind.
But it is a Kojima game, so of course it is 😜
Cheers, stay safe and have a good one
Just in an Uber on the way home from playing Outbreak Origins at Zero Latency VR! Had a great time with my mates! On PS4 I recently finished Vampire: The Masquerade Corteries of New York. Now starting the expansion Shadows of New York. Will hopefully finish it before Swansong comes out next Thursday.
I finally finished Elden Ring so it's to play something else.
I picked up Ghostwire Tokyo and I'm looking forward to booting it up.
Just finished Hitman 3 which was of course excellent. Might have a go at attempting the 60 minute endurance race missions on GT7 as I’ve completed cafe menus and all circuit experiences sans the rally car ones which I just simply find zero enjoyment in.
Hoping United youngster Jimmy Garner can help Forest in the promotion playoffs and that Liverpool end the season with just the League Cup. Most excited for the Serie A doubleheader tomorrow with Milan and Inter in action back to back. Have a great weekend everyone.
Finished Elden Ring last weekend and since then I've been back playing HFW. I only managed about 15 hours before Elden Ring completely took over, but have got back into it now (even if I am still thinking about ER). I will probably rush through the back half of the story as the set up so far makes me want to know what happens at the end.
Really been thinking about starting Trails properly too, with Cold Steel 1. Seeing the banner image for the article reminds me I have Tokyo Xanadu eX+ and Ys 8 half finished already though! Not sure I'll have time for all of this before Xenoblade 3 drops!
Not exactly sure what changed but mass effect finally clicked with me over the week. I'm guessing it really was just a patience thing. While the game does still show its age, it's been fun going around sniping anything and everything. Honestly I'm just glad I no longer have that reluctance to boot it up. I'm probably gonna go for the plat now too
@WCB Groovy
@Relygon - Yeah I guess it takes some adjusting coming from PC. I'm a lifelong console peasant so I'm just used to 30fps being the norm for a lot of games. Some of my favourite games like Zelda OoT and Shadow of the Colossus barely managed 15fps!
@Kidfunkadelic83 Enjoy your C1. I just got one and it changed everything for me since I was using a 24" 1080p screen lol. It's incredible
Forbidden West. I'm 15 hours in and am loving it, although I wish they made Aloy a more likeable character with more charisma
Eiyuden chronicles: rising ps5.
I need to scrath the suikoden itch
Cyberpunk 2077 on Ps5. Having a lot of fun and digging how not action adventure it feels. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love action adventure but having something that feels like an RPG is a rare treat
@RaZieLDaNtE can always count me in for a set of matches when I’m around. And thank you! My life just a whole lot busier! PSN: Jackill1329
Finished Mile Morales and now going to do a NG+ speedrun for the platinum. Also will dabble in BioShock 2. I might start Kena if all goes well. That or Immortals.
I’m playing a lot of different things which is unusual for me - but nothing is holding my attention at all. With the current weather climate I decided to replay AC Odyssey and it’s been a blast so far. I played it when it originally released on the PS4 and got the platinum; but I never played the subsequent DLC. This game is an honest to god masterpiece, in my opinion.
Other than that, I’m still playing Rogue Legacy 2 and doing one or two runs a day. I’m also still making my way through Sniper Elite 4 via Game Pass and I’m enjoying it so much I might buy the DLC. I can’t wait for SE5.
@Judal27 You will have a ever greater time with 2 and 3!!
Even though I thought the ending of Far Cry 5 was a rancid insult to gamers everywhere, I decided to start Far Cry 6.
It is certainly more Far Cry!
@BritneyfR_ee Totally with you on Ghostwire, I am hoping to finish it this weekend along with the plat. The combat isn't the best but I find it a really chilled game & I love the bat sh*t crazy story, looking forward to see how it finishes.
Donkey Kong Country 4 and Zelda Oracle of Ages on 3DS
Alice Madness Returns on xbox360
Madden and NHL Double Pack on Mega Drive
The Lucky Dime Caper starring Donald Duck on Master System
@nookie_egg agreed!
@dschons I've been thinking about this too honestly. But I reckon my second run will just be picking up items I missed first time around, then I'll fly through it straight to the third run.
@Shepherd_Tallon Yep, that's what I did I also just respecced a couple of times instead of making new characters to try out new stuff. Since I explored so thoroughly, I pretty much had solid equipment and weapons / spells for every build imageinable.
Viewtiful joe and sengoku basara 2!
Now that I beat Elden Ring, I decided to go for a throw back, I’m currently playing Lost Odyssey. Although it feels like a product of its era, I’m really enjoying it so far.
Finishing off a Mass Effect 3 Insanity playthrough to finish getting all the trophies. It's been a blast catching up with Shepard.
I'm also considering jumping into ME Andromeda afterwards to see how that game ended up after all the patches it got considering that I played and finished it in the same week it launched.
@Shigurui I hope you enjoy it. It’s actually my favorite Remedy game. I like it better than control.
This weekend I’m on the road for work. So I have my Switch in tow. I purchased Metroid Dread for the trip. I’m completely sucked into it. It’s my favorite game I’ve played this year! Also on Switch when I need a break from Metroid I’m still trying to escape Hades. That’s such a great handheld game. Have a great weekend everyone!
@SolarSailor i bet the difference was absolutely massive for you. Not just in screen size size but in everything else too. Resolution, HDR, Hz etc. To be fair tho, im using a top end samsung QLED from 2017 so i wont notice as much as you but its enough to warrant a purchase just for the Better HDR and frame boost. Onr main TV needed an upgrade so my OLED will take its place. The trade off tho was whilst my wife is in spain ive got to decorate the front room 😂😂
@Ryany. Excellent game.resident evil 4 is still a legendary game.one of the best games i ever play.word up son
@Col_McCafferty Spurs fan here, too. So glad that Liverpool won. Here’s hoping we beat Burnley tomorrow and Arsenal drop points at Newcastle on Monday evening.
As for what I’m playing this weekend. Just need to mop up four trophies for the Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut platinum, so I’ll work on that. No clue how to kill an enemy by knocking them off a ledge though. I’ll also try out the new difficulty options on Sifu and taste a few cafe menu’s in Gran Turismo 7, which is my game of 2022 so far. I done the Rally stages from the cafe last weekend and had a blast with the Focus WRC car. So much fun.
Have a great weekend!
Crash bandicoot 4 & might buy we happy few in the sale
Finishing up Tokyo Mirage Sessions on Switch, dailies in Genshin Impact, and maybe Nintendo Switch Sports if I buy it this weekend
I'm actually taking a slight break from Horizon Forbidden West (Love it so much tho) to play Salt and Sacrifice. So far it's good but no as good as Salt and Sanctuary imo. I think it's the "hunt" oriented design that I personally dont find as engaging as the original but I'm early on so my opinion may change 😃
@F1at8mot0 - Thanks mate, really looking forward to getting stuck into it. Played and enjoyed every other Remedy game so I'm pretty certain it won't disappoint.
@freddquadros definitely can't wait to get to 2. I hear that's probably the best one in the series
I'm back to playing Trails in the Sky 3 after finishing Anno: Mutationem. Anno was pretty fun if a little too easy. Great presentation though. Also got done with a fun round of Golf today!
Still working on that Kaze and the Wild Masks world 4 boss. Frustrating as all heck.
@get2sammyb I'm surprised you started off with Kingdom Hearts III, weren't you worried about being spoilered?
That aside, happy you enjoyed KH3 enough to go back and play thru the older titles!
As for myself, I finally platinumed LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.
I'm going to replay Assassin's Creed II next, to get myself ready for AC Brotherhood.
I'll be playing some Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, and maybe play some rounds on Ghost of Tsushima Legends.
Working my way through Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. I just beat the giant BT. I’m hoping the game isn’t too much longer now. Loved my experience with DS. I can see why some don’t enjoy it. But for me, the experience was so different than I’m used to. So it was a pleasant ride so far. I’ll be also grinding some spheres in FFX
As for me, I just beat Elden Ring! Aha!
I think I’m good on gaming for the week. I need to let that set in.
@Lavalera I played the Ys games back in the 90s. Don't know how I missed the new ones but picking it up now. I was looking for my next JRPG fix. Thanks.
Struggling to click with things after mopping up the platinum on Elden Ring....
On Switch I'm still playing Dead Cells - edging closer to actually completing my first full run! Game plays like a great mix of Hades & Returnal, I'd highly recommend it to anyone that enjoyed those.
On PS5 I've started 'Salt & Sacrifice', which is a 2D-SoulsClone (and sequel to 2016 title 'Salt & Sanctuary', an amazing game too!). This new sequel is good, but doesn't quite capture the same magic as the first game. Still is a good play though, and quite intricate build-diversity / mechanics / weapons should keep me interested
going to start vampire the masquerade swansong got my order early last week for some reason
@KidBoruto Not really, to be honest I wasn't even sure whether I would like it.
@get2sammyb Fair! I would just never personally start off with the latest game in the series, would be confusing as hell and upsetting.
I dropped Mafia 3 after realising how repetetive it is. Oh well, at least I had fun with Mafia 1 and 2.
Started my 3rd playthrough of Until Dawn and it's still a blast.
On Switch: still Mario Deluxe U
On PS Vita: still Dragon's Crown, but it's starting to get a bit stale
I'm playing Harvest Moon Light Of Hope this week end and it's very similar to Stardew Valley. LOL
Right now I'm in between AAA games so this weekend I'm trying out the "one mod to rule them all" in Diablo 2 Resurrected: the D2RMM. Building a new sorceress from scratch in offline mode using a bunch of different mod combinations, all made for this mod manager. Very simple to switch them around and combine them as needed.
@Judal27 The majority of fans like 2 more. My favorite is ME 3. My favorite game of the PS3 era in fact. You are in for a treat!! And do all the sidequests!!
@KidBoruto I'm close to platinum AC III. Them it's Liberation and after, Black Flag. Never played AC IV, eager to see if it is so good as people say.
@ErrantRob
Hi there friend. Sorry for the late reply.
Just added you on PSN.
Cheers, stay safe and enjoy your week
@freddquadros You're way further than me! I've only beaten AC1 and AC2 on PS3 ages ago.
I would have replayed AC1 before replaying AC2, but they never remastered or remade AC1 for newer consoles sadly.
Right now story wise in AC2 I'm about to go after Francesco, but I'm wrapping up as many trophies and side quests as I can first.
@KidBoruto I never ever played AC 1, and pray for a remaster to this day. I platined 2, much possible because there isn't optional objectives there. In Brotherhood and Revelations it's too hard, there is no checkpoints to optionals, a mistake and is the mission from the start.
Before I only played III on PS3 years ago, and Odyssey (masterpiece). But I felt the urge to play the series, and got the Ezio collection and i'm working onward. Will play all that's available.
@freddquadros I just learned AC1 can be played thru XB1/Series X and S backwards compatibility (also PC), but I'd rather wait for a PS4 or PS5 remaster (remake preferably).
I started AC Brotherhood ages ago on PS3 but didn't get very far, something distracted me and I lost interest, uninstalled the game and moved on.
Good on you for liking those games enough to go back and experience the series in correct story order though.
Thanks for the friend request btw! Nice to meet another gamer that enjoys both AC and Kingdom Hearts.
@KidBoruto Oh yeah, 2 amazing series!! For Kingdom Hearts I made the same vow, complete all I could. Only the mobile ones (Union X/Dark Road) are remaining for now.
And I will wait, I want to play AC1 on Playstation, I never had any Xbox anyway. Keep playing the Ezio games, they get better with each instalment!!
@freddquadros Did you start off with Kingdom Hearts 3 and then go backwards, like Sammy? I've been playing the Kingdom hearts series in release order since KH1.
I also still haven't played any of the mobile games, still waiting and hoping for console remakes.
Yeah so I've heard! Ezio trilogy is a great start for anyone wanting to dip their hands into the franchise.
@KidBoruto Before, I played 1 and 2 in the PS2. Always wanted to play BBS, but couldn't on PSP. Until last year, when there was the "All in One" sale on PS Store. I got it and played all of them in order, the games and even watched the cutscene movies included. I'm a sort of completionist hehe. This collection is the best way to play the series, as the games are with the best graphics and 60 fps.i could get a deep understand of the lore too. I recomend Melody of Memory as well after 3, as it recaps the series and adds new revelations that will fully connect to KH4.
i like all the games. The harder for me was Chain of Memories, that Org XIII bosses were brutal. And my favorite is KH II, love the way the game develops.
@freddquadros I begged my mom to buy me a PSP for Christmas 2010 just so I could finally play Birth by Sleep. Ended up playing alot of other neat games on it like Daxter, Secret Agent Clank, and FF7 Crisis Core.
Shamefully I haven't gotten very far in my replay of the KH series on PS4/PS5, but I plan to change that as soon as we get a solid release date for KH4 or the next spinoff. Whichever one releases first.
I tried really hard to play Melody of Memory but kept failing, so I just cheated and watched the new Kairi cutscenes on YouTube.
Chain of Memories is also the hardest KH game for me, but I plan to go back and conquer it after I platinum KH1 finally.
For me personally, I'd also have to choose KH2. We got introduced to Roxas/Namine and the Org, plus had alot of character growth for the Destiny Island Trio.
