How are we all enjoying the second heat wave of the year, then? Are we all suitably warm enough? We'll be closing the curtains and cosying up with a Cornetto and some video games.

There are lots of games I'd like to play at the moment, but this weekend I think I want to take Rumbleverse for a spin. I also picked up Arcade Paradise, which I'm looking forward to becoming addicted to in the near future.
Liam Croft, Assistant Editor
I'll be playing as much Soul Hackers 2 as I can for review.
Aaron Bayne, Video Editor
After messing around with Spider-Man Remastered on PC earlier this week, I decided to boot up my PS5 save, and noticed I was pretty damn close to the Platinum. Now with all side missions and challenges wrapped up I just have 89 crime events to go. Wish me luck.

I am going to support the latest Dragon Ball movie by marathoning some Dragon Ball games starting with an old flame, Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Then I'll give Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 another chance with all the DLC. My level of excitement is over 9,000!
That's everything on our agenda, but what about the rest of you. You know the drill: tell us what you're playing in the comments section below.

Still playing through and loving Cyberpunk 2077. It's a shame the launch left a bad taste in people’s mouths because the game is amazing.
Basketball! Playing with some of my teammates at a local 3x3 tournament here in Ghent, Belgium. Luckily they made it an indoor event. The heat is unbearable.
Tonight and tomorrow I'll mop up the final Ghost of Tsushima trophies (at last...) and progress through the fantastic story of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 on Switch.
@Bentleyma Enjoy! This is one of my favourite games of all time, and I have been playing for over 30 years now. I'm planning on going through the whole game again once the first story DLC is released.
Beat the main story for Xenoblade 3 last night after 130 hours. Fantastic game. Now I just have to go back and complete a ton of side quests which feel never ending in this game. And between that I plan to start playing Astral Chain.
I'm playing retro handheld at the moment as I have cleared my entire backlog on home consoles (yes, took many years of "work" but I eventually got there). This week, I have completed Resistance Retribution and I've just started Jak and Daxter - The Lost Frontier yesterday. I'm playing it on my Vita and being able to use the second analog stick truly helps. After that, it's one of the following: Daxter, Secret Agent Clank, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters.
Gonna finish Spider man Miles Morales.
Yakuza: Like A Dragon
The best PS+ game I have played since getting a PS5.
I've just got my hands on "Radiant Silvergun" for the Saturn so I'm going to be giving that a spin. Good excuse to stay indoors where it's slightly cooler, too.
Well im staying indoors away from the heat, and will mostly play cult of the lamb really great game so far.
Tlou 2 with a side of two point campus.
I've got Game Pass for the first time, so I've been playing a lot of stuff. But mainly Gears 1, NFS Heat, Fable Anniversary and kinda Fallout 4.
Should really be packing for moving house in two weeks time, but I'm sure I'll play Guilty Gear
Only a few matches away from moving up above floor 10, it'll probably not go my way though. Let's Rock this weekend everyone. Happy gaming!
Edit: Quick update I have reached the celestial floor. I'm in awe of myself. Won't be for long though 😂
After twenty attempts at the time trial on the first level of Crash Bandicoot 4, all I can say is fair play to anyone who has the platinum for this game.
I'm playing Stasis, a space horror adventure game. Kinda like if Dead Space was a isometric point-and-click adventure, I suppose. Pretty good so far.
Completed both The Surge 2 and Nioh 2 during the week. Nioh was a lot longer than expected. I tried only pushing the story but still ended up with almost 50 hours of playtime. Great value!
This weekend it’s Sekiro. Game’s brutal… Playing in bursts to prevent myself from smashing the controller to bits. Not sure how far I’ve gotten but I just put the Corrupted Monk to rest.
I played PSP games in the morning after very long time I haven't touched my PSP. 🙂
Back to Rhythm games.
1. Pop'n Music Portable 2
2. Taiko no Tatsujin Portable 2
Then, I played Switch games in the afternoon.
1. Kirby Star Allies
2. Paper Mario Origami King
3. Animal Crossing New Horizons
I'm taking break from playing PS4 as I have been playing Youtubers Life 2 PS4 for straight 4 weeks so I have to take care my other consoles for maintenance or continue the unfinished games.
Too hot. Going to find a river to sit in for the day. Games tomorrow.
Ps5 playing Chernobylite near the end and Miles Morales. Laptop Arkham Origins Cold Cold Heart DLC and Crysis 2. Series X In Sound Mind. Switch Smash Bros and Mario 3D World
On my ps5 I'm playing God of War. Finished the story, which was great but didn't expect it to be that short. Now working on the end game trophy hunting stuff. Amazing game.
On my Xbox im still working on Solasta crown of the magister which is my first real attempt at an isometric crpg. It's a bit getting used since I never really played d&d or those type of games but it's enjoyable. Also going to do some more baby steps into Elden Ring. Which also normally isn't my type of game, but just had to try. Slowly working on it a few hours a week that's all my stress level can take, especially with the heatwave now, since the world is so intimidating especially if challenging isn't your cup of tea normally. Trying an attempt as a samurai which is a nice mix between melee and bow and arror and see how far I can go with this and if I have to switch to magic.
Well i've had the week off enjoying this fantastic weather and i've played a little bit of elden ring 🙄. Out to the golf course this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon so its going to be very warm..
Nioh 2 with all the dlcs.amazing game.its a addicted game.and one of the best games ever made.the gameplay is one of the best in video games history.its so satisfying.the graphics looks good on my ps4 pro.and the story is cool also. Hopefully I finally finish the Quarry after attempting to play it all summer and just haven’t had much luck because the kiddos don’t deal well with sleeping early in the summer time. If I finish that game, I’ll put on Freshly Frosted immediately afterward and tune out to that game to relax.
Other than that, I may play the Switch a bit and continue on with Xenoblade 3. I made it to chapter 3 now and I’m still waiting for it to be “omg goty tier” like many of the reviewers had said. I’m enjoying it, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not blowing me away at this point. Outside that, I’ve got Strange Horticulture and Two Point Campus to dip back into too, which are both great games.
Xenoblade Chronicles d.f. along with 3 driv3r 3 and crazy taxi 3 on the OGbox
Finished off the mp trophies on Red Dead Redemption 2 this morning and I’ll hopefully get some time to finish off the Challenge of Olympus on God of War 3: Remastered .
I'm hoping to have Ghostwire tokyo's plat today and then I can finally play Stray.
I started my 20th playthrough of Skyrim and as anyone can guess, as a stealth archer which I pick every single time. What can I say, when I play Skyrim I'm a simple man, I like to one shot everything and abuse the follower system with Faendel at Riverwood and get my archery skill up to level 50 in the 1st hour (always satisfying).
I will also be playing the Diofield Chronicle demo which I've already played through the beginning fight so I don't really have any opinion on it yet aside from I like the visual style.
Have a good week and happy gaming😊
Recently bought a series X so been playing through the master chief collection, reached Halo 4 so will spend some time on that. On the PS5 I will be mainly playing final fantasy 14
Playing Blue Reflection Second Light on my PS5, I'll be going for the Platinum for that game. Still playing through Xenoblade Chronicles 3 on Switch, about 50 hours in. Nothing much on Series X at the moment.
Slowly burning my way through RE2 Remake while thoroughly enjoying Yakuza:LaD on PS5. If time some Multiversus matches and most likely a bit more Takes of Arise
Switch is still all about Triangle Strategy. I’d really like to try the Diofield demo at one point too.
On PS5: Final Fantasy 7 Remake (really liking it so far)
On XSX: Max Payne (still looks and plays great)
On Switch: Super Mario 3d World with my daughter.
Today, however, I'll be playing a game called having a barbecue and drinking a lot of beer 😁😎
Organizing a conference, so very little time for video games. I may play Multiversus for a bit, though.
I'll be playing Yakuza: Like a Dragon and FTL. FTL is such a good game.
Still continuing my 4th run of the master crafted, the masterpiece R E D. D E A D. R E D E M P T I O N. 2.
Where horses get whitish around the saddles from sweat, where the sun's rays reddens Arthur's ears, where carcasses actually decay after in-game days, where thankfully master crafted garments, beautiful horses or whatever else that looks better than half the games out there aren't sold as dlc.
Then it's finishing off all the cultists this time in AC Odyssey, plus maybe whatever else.
After the 19.hour download time for Miles Morales from extra, been playing that.
It's good, it's more spidey.
But that said, this game doesn't need to exist. It's exactly the same thing. Least make him feel different to play. And no, the instant win button that is the venom powers don't count.
Still, it's more spidey and that's never a bad thing.
Guardians of the Galaxy. On Chapter 6 and am enjoying it so far. The writing and acting for the main characters is pretty good, I think. Some genuine laugh out loud moments, the 'Lipless' scene at the bar in Knowhere i found especially funny!
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition on my Switch. About 35 hours in and on Chapter 7. Still enjoying it.
PS5 - Ghost Recon Wildlands
XSS - Split/Second and Rush Rally Origins.
I wanted to finally play through the Iki Island expansion in Ghost of Tsushima.
After 2 years I forgot how good the game is, and it's even better on PS5.
Mostly going to be AC Valhalla's newest mode and MultiVersus.
As I picked up an OLED Switch, been playing some Alien Isolation and BioShock. Both look great with the high contrast screen, Alien looks particularly good, in some ways better than the PS4 version.
So many Campuses to build in Two Point County, too little time.
@Gremio108
It’s my first ever crash game. I love it but full well know I’ll never get near completing it.
I go back to it every few months when I want to test myself again…
Still knocking through LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 and all it’s DLC w my son, when time permits.
I got back into King of Fighters 15 after the latest DLC dropped. And still playing Capcom Fighting Game Collection and Multiversus.
Pub pub pub pub, pub pub pub pub, pub pub pub pub, Xenoblade Chronicles 3
Dark Cloud, Shredders Revenge with the boy, Two Point University hopefully tonight.
Finally getting around to Stray. Pretty close to the end and may go for the Platinum. If not I’ll start my Horizon Zero Dawn play through. I know people have sort of turned their nose up at Plus Extra, but as a PS newcomer it’s a dream come true!
@kyleforrester87 if your going to that many pubs and having multiple drinks in each, then all the best with the gaming later 😂
Continuing on my play of "RimWorld Console Edition"
This game is fantastic!
It is a Colony Building/Storytelling Sim.
Originally played on PC, but it a couple a weeks ago, it got ported to consoles.
It is an amazing port that really makes the UI work on a controller.
There just is not anything quite like it.
I can see losing a thousand hours to this game now that I can lean back and enjoy it from the couch.
A fantastic city builder that constantly has you saying, "Whoa, that did not just happen" because of the crazy stuff that comes out of this game.
You crash land on an alien planet and go from there.
If you have never heard of it, look for a review and check it out.
I can’t seem to put down Death’s Door until I have uncovered every one of its secrets. What an awesome game.
I picked up Blue Fire from the summer sale. I tried playing it on the Switch a few months ago and hated it. I don't know what changed, maybe it the smoother framerate or the fact that I'm playing with an actual controller, but I'm hooked. This game is excellent.
@MightyDemon82 it’s ok, it’s a Nintendo game, kids stuff!!
I'm still dipping in & out of 13 Sentinels, took a break recently to play through Stray & TMNT. But mostly I'm playing my Gamecube, Starfox Assault & Twilight Princess.
I hoping to put some time into the Diofield Chronicle demo this weekend. Plus play some MHW Iceborne with the boys.
Dipping into the backlog with Darksiders Genesis, would be interesting to see another isometric with all 4 Horsemen but preffered the presentation of the first 3 Darksiders.
@Hurblyburbly Stick with it, you'll get there! I'll also be happy with just getting to the end. I always have a quick look at the trophy list before I start a game (providing there are no spoilers) and this list raised an eyebrow. Now I've started the game, both eyebrows have jumped clean off my face.
I still haven't decided all the games I will play, but I think I will progress more in Assassin's Creed Chronicles China, Black Flag, maybe mop up some remaining tasks in Horizon FW and Cyberpunk 2077. Ghost of Tsushima is a strong bet too.
@liljazzy2 I have a PS+ subscription for 7+ years now, and Extra is the best thing ever happened. Now there are so many games I wished to play but couldn't buy, there, just waiting... I won'r buy a game full price any time soon... Maybe GOW Ragnarok, Forspoken... But between them, is game upon game. Enjoy!!
Hooked on Yakuza: Like A Dragon
Yakuza: Like A Dragon
Red Dead Online 😥
Played through Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge and are two hours into A Plague Tale: Innocence.
Infamous: Second Son.
Uncharted 2
Batman: Arkham City
Not to bad of a weekend lol.
Legitimately had to come back to comment that, after more than two months of barely playing the game despite my best efforts to continue playing it, my wife and I have finally completed The Quarry. While it doesn’t quite hit the highs of Until Dawn, it’s not far off the mark and certainly a step up from the Dark Pictures games. I enjoyed the story and characters quite a bit. I’m glad to finally say I’ve beaten it after saying I was playing it every weekend for more than two months! Best Stadia exclusive that never was.
LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game (PS2) - Busy weekend so far, but trying to finish up Episode III in coop with my son.
Mahjong by Microsoft (Android) - Nearly halfway with my monthly medals.
Make It Rain: The Love of Money (Windows Phone) - Playing here and there still.
I decided to give Tower of Fantasy a fair shake and so far I am deeply conflicted. There's just a smidge too much jank in every aspect; weirdly directed voice acting, subtitles not matching the voice lines, some lines not being voiced at all in the middle of conversation.
Climbing works until you reach some ledges and then you just get yeeted back to the bottom. Combat works, but isn't anything special and doesn't really flow that well.
Music is utterly forgettable OR an almost straight rip from Genshin only not as competent.
The monetisation can just get in the bin, it is horrendous.
Finally the incomplete gamepad support for PC, you can do a lot of stuff via the gamepad except interact with menus and anything menu related.
TL;DR - Where Genshin feels like a console game made to work on mobile, ToF feels like a mobile game straight ported to PC with minimal effort. I don't hate it but I don't see myself sticking with it much longer.
Just finished to gt7 plat, so moved on to stray (on chapter 10, great game, should get the plat after a bit of collectible cleanup and to speedrun). Then might try Ghost of Tshushima
Just completed the second game of Phoenix Wright trilogy, probably will start the last one. Completed first episode of Guardians of the Galaxy Telltale game, will no doubt play another episode by the end of the weekend. Also picked up the Dead Cells DLC, will be checking that out.
@freddquadros Replying to a previous convo, I never knew Wolverine was unlockable in the later THPS games! I think I dropped out of the series after 2 or 3 sadly.
Did you end up enjoying both Sandman and Locke & Key? If you're itching for another Netflix series, I recommend The Witcher, Lucifer (technically FOX), and A Series of Unfortunate Events (TV series, not the film).
As for myself, my save data got corrupted sadly so I had to load an older save file for AC Revelations (Sequence 6 Maiden's Tower). I made my way back to Sequence 8, currently re-doing all of the challenges and Assassins side missions/training before I progress further with the story again.
@KidBoruto Yes, Wolverine is playable and he is awesome!! His specials are unique!
I'm still finishing Sandman, these days I have less time, my working hours are bigger now. I'm close ot finish, it's one of the shows of the year!
Save files corrupting are terrible. I hate to have to redo things. I'm closer to platinum Black Flag, there are 3 SP trophies and 2 MP trophies now. They are grindy, but I think it won't take too long.
@freddquadros I'll be sure to watch some gameplay of him later!
Hope you're able to finish Sandman soon and start Locke & Key. I just finished Season 3, will be starting Sandman this weekend if I have time.
Same here dude, very annoying when it happens! I wish Assassin's Creed games allowed you to make multiple save slots, instead of 1 fixed autosave.
