Another whirlwind week has come to its conclusion! While it was ultimately quite light on major video game news, we did get confirmation that God of War Ragnarok has gone gold, and that's less than a month away now. We can't wait!

I'm probably going to bounce between sports games, while also getting my ass kicked in Street Fighter 6. The beta has seriously impressed me so far, and I was already pretty excited to begin with!
Robert Ramsey, Deputy Editor
I'm going to try and spend as much time as I possibly can with the Street Fighter 6 closed beta this weekend (assuming the servers hold up). This thing is shaping up to be a truly outstanding fighting game.
Aaron Bayne, Video Editor
This is it. I am finally completing my God of War playthrough this weekend. Next stop, Horizon Forbidden West.
Annette Magana, Reviewer
I'm going to continue my Resident Evil marathon and start Resident Evil 3. Since this game is shorter, hopefully I get some time to play The Evil Within.
That's everything we're playing this weekend, but what about the rest of you? You know the drill: let us know in the comments section below.

At work again... So it is Witcher 3 on my Switch.
Gonna try and reach battlepass level 200 in Fortnite, almost there.
Also gonna try and finish up Strangers of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origins
And probably gonna start Castlevania Portrait of Ruin on my DS.
I played these games. 🤓
1. Spyro Reignited Trilogy PS4
2. Para Para Paradise PS2
Trails from Zero it’s my game of the year so far.
I'm making my way through Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, and honestly I currently feel like the alternate game where you're a Viking who isn't being controlled and connected to the Assassins would have been better.
The Last of Us Part I for me. I’m around ten hours in and having a wonderful time. Once you get over the price, this is one stunning video game!
I'll be playing some Valkyria Chronicles Remastered this weekend. Never played it before and am having quite a bit of fun with it. For Gallia!
The main portion of my gaming time however will be spent on Star Ocean: The Last Hope. Another PS3 era game that I've never played before which I'm also quite enjoying with it's PS4 remaster. There seems to be a focus on actual space/planet travel too compared to Star Ocean 3 from what I can gather too?
Have a good weekend everyone!
Still on dmc 5 special edition. What a game. Up to Dante must die chapter 10
"Alien Isolation" for me - it's equal parts scary and frustrating so far (damn you mandatory manual saves!) but the attention to detail and reverence for the aesthetic of the original movie is very impressive indeed.
Just finished guardians of the galaxy last night, really bloody enjoyed it. Gonna go back and do a collectibles/ costume run. But yeah very good considering I didn't like the films or know anything about the comics. Ran like ass on an original ps4 phatboy though lol.
"Forbidden West" on PS5 is my main game, at the moment and I'm quite addicted. I'm not fond of every design decision, especially in terms of increased complexity (it adds depth in some places and creates unnecessary chores in others), but I still really like the gameplay and the grind.
And while I generally don't care much about the narration in videogames, the game just reached an early plot twist that threatens to crank the trash-factor up to a level that will be hard to swallow. But I'll see.
Also, I've just started "Radiant Silvergun" on Switch and that was love on first sight. It's tough as expected, but the weapon system is such a blast. I can already see this becoming one of my all-time favorite Shoot'em ups.
Additionally I plan on playing "Resident Evil 0". The style of the old-school-"Resis" is somehow both terrifying and calming. This will be my Halloween-game this year.
Monster jam 2 ,Man of Medan and trails from zero on the mighty ps5 along with gears of war ultimate and the gears 5 fartbreaker dlc on the annoying as ***** series X
After spending most of the last week in bed with Covid (after avoiding it for 2 and a half years) I am finally feeling well enough to continue with my gaming collection.
Yakuza Kiwami, after reading comments on this being the worst one I expected it to be bad...but I'm on the Final Level now and I've loved every minute of it!Looking forward to Kiwami 2.
For some reason I bought House Flipper and I've never been so addicted!
On the Switch I'll be playing Xenoblade Chronicles again and some Lemon Cake.
On my ps5 it's mostly Saints row 4. Some open world over the top action. Was in the mood for it and it's enjoyable. Besides that it's Atelier Ryza as a more relax game. My first Atelier game. Until now I'm enjoying myself not that difficult to get into the alchemy and everything is well explained.
On my Xbox it's Ni no kuni. Very beautiful game but a bit on the grindy site will see if I will finish it or not.
In a rare change of fortunes, the series x is getting a bit use from us this weekend.
I'd grown bored of Forza Horizon 5, but since myself and my wife changed back to FH4, were hooked on that again. I firmly believe its a better game. Its made me buy some old classics on ebay for a few quid a pop, so ive now got forza 1, 2 and 3, and also Project Gotham Racing 3 and 4 waiting for a look. Its amazing how well these games still stand up, even today.
I'm obviously waiting with baited breath for GOW, which I intend to give my full attention. I dont want to start any major game till then... 😂
I’m out of town for most of the weekend but last night I played a bit more of the Hot Wheels game and it’s been very fun so far. Not something I’d play for hours at a time but I’m having a great time in short sessions and might actually try to beat the whole single player part of it.
I need to get through my backlog, maybe time to finally start Plague Tale
I'm going to give Asterigos a go before I head back to Forbidden West.
I have the mostly cleared in FW. Just the main story missions left to do now, and some weapon upgrades too. After that I'll be leaving it behind until the expansion.
The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season (Windows Store) - Just starting on the first episode for Halloween purposes.
Age of Empires: Castle Siege (Android) - I'm at a brick wall now, with nothing left to do.
Temple Run 2 (Windows Phone) - Still having a blast with this.
Playing megadimension Neptunia vii, and hot wheels should I play it long enough that I feel like a mindless change of pace.
should finish stranger of paradise today, i dont think its as bad as had been said. then onto tails of arise that i got cheap
On PS5 i will be continuing with Atelier Sophie 2 and The Diofield Chronicle.
On switch I will hopefully be completing Pikmin 3 deluxe so then I can move on to Fire emblem warriors three hopes.
And on my series S I will be playing a bit more Fifa 23 and Dying Light 2
Gathering mist echoes in Niflheim, trying to find Ivaldi's secret. Dunno if GoW's joy in exploration has been emphasized enough because from 2018, I'm still finding new stuff in 2022. The game is so artistic, everything is so carefully designed. I feel like since the template has been set, GoWR is just gonna be crazy with a lot more additions. Then, still playing around in Empire Bay with Joe, on a final mission with Jimmy in MAFIA II DLCs.
I just finished Ys 8 last night. Just gotta do one more end game side questy boss fight. If the game didn’t require you to finish it on the highest difficulty, I would’ve went for the platinum. Backlog so big I don’t even know what to play next. Especially since it takes me forever to finish games these days and Pokémon and God of War are right around the corner.
Well, my new PS5 just arrived, so the question is... what should I play? Demon's Souls on PS Plus x is looking quite tempting.
I too finished Gardeners of the Galaxy last week, and had many dog report items to discuss.
I was hoping for Goom 'the thing from Planet X' DLC, as it too has a legendary name, and I do wish to fight it. Maybe there will be a sequel one day.
I'm not playing anything this weekend as I'm away. So the closest thing to gaming I'm doing is re reading and/or listening to the audiobook of The Witcher - Baptism of Fire (such a strong entry in the series, with chapter after chapter of amazingly memorable moments...that they will forget to add to the Netflix series)
But I will probably start either Death Stranding or Horizon Forbidden West next week. I'm leaning towards Death Stranding because of the current hype surrounding 'a Hideo Kojima game' and from what I've seen it gives me autumn vibes. I normally avoid titles with horror elements, but I like the idea of walking around a beautiful landscape, as that's basically what I've been doing this week anyway, so the continuation of that in digital form appeals 😅
my backlog kind of means there's no point in getting too excited and pre ordering God of War: Ragnarok (and I only played the first this year anyway, so I've not been waiting years like most) but I'm looking forward to that eventually
Enjoy the weekend everyone
Im still playing nioh 2 with all the dlcs.its one of the greatest games ever made.the gameplay is so fun.the graphics looks good on my ps4 pro.and i like the story also.mafia definitive edition.its a amazing game.the graphics looks amazing.gameplay is fun.and the story is really good.resident evil 2 remake.one of my favorite game ever and its a horror masterpiece.im still playing as leon.the graphics looks amazing.and the story is really good.watching my Pittsburgh 💛 Steelers 🖤 🏈 play.watching legendary 📺 tv sitcoms in in living color.saved by the bell and martin.word up son
Well i just platinumed elden ring so i guess i'll jump back into valhalla this weekend. Have a good weekend everybody👍
Still playing and enjoying the amazing Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. Few games I love the second time just like the first. I'm not stopping until that 100%!
Still making my way through Trails from Zero, with Overwatch 2 on the side.
Grid Legends, completed story mode, now on the career mode. I'll no doubt complete daily marathon on GT7. Plus, another playthough of House of Ashes and NG+ on Voice of Cards The Forsaken Maiden, working towards 100% on both.
Hopefully finishing Astral Chain this weekend after going on and off for the past two months. And after that Trails from Zero which I played for 2 hours on Switch and love already.
Well… I made it past the terrible awful part in TLoU Part II and it’s been a different experience this time. When I originally played Part II I was so annoyed that I couldn’t enjoy the rest of the game. This time, I’m just sad (still a little annoyed, don’t get me wrong) but I am enjoying the game a lot more.
I’ve also just installed Alan Wake Remastered. Many years ago, I almost bought a 360 just to play this game. Looking forward to finally playing it 😁
@UltimateOtaku91 How are you finding Diofield? I've been tempted to give it a go, but it will probably be next year before I get to it.
@Starkei
Play the free Astrobot game first. You won't regret it.
Gonna grind a bit more on Victor Vran - getting to level 50 and complete a few more stages on RE5. And maybe another couple of runs on Death Road to Canada.
Have a great weekend PushSquare peeps.
On act 2 of Trails of cold steel 2, 40 hours in and just passed the part involving the Twin Dragons bridge.
My nephew's are enjoying PSVR this weekend, I gifted it to them, as I'll be upgrading to PSVR2 when it releases next year. My brother-in-law finally set it up after I posted last week.
Have a great weekend everyone!
@Shepherd_Tallon story wise it's very generic and they have tried too hard to make it similar to fire emblem, doesn't help that the characters show no emotion either and the cutscenes feel flat, The basic story is two nations going to war and then both nations attacking another nation for its resources and you're a band of mercenaries helping that country.
But I'm enjoying the strategy side to it and its definitely more difficult than fire emblem but also more grindy. And I kinda like the combat in this as its more real time and not turn based like other strategy Rpg's. The moves are cool and you can summon monsters like bahamut to do devastating specials.
Overall though I'd rate it 6.5/10, if I was you I would definitely wait for a sale.
Just finished Code Vein, with only the DLC to go.
Hope the rumors of a sequel are true!
Hi there fellow gamers.
I´ll be ontinuing on with the Halo Master Chief Collection on my Xbox Series X, specifically Halo Reach wich I´m really enjoying.
On my PS5, more DnF Duel matches, and some GG Strive as well.
Finally on my Switch, Triagle Strategy on chapter 3.
Cheers, stay safe good people and happy gaming weekend to us all
@Starkei Hi there friend.
Congrats on your new PS5.
As for first games, you should definitely play Astro´s Playroom and Demon´s Souls. Both are great and use the Dualsense and 3D audio really well. You won´t regret it.
Cheers, stay safe and have a good one
I will continue Ghost of Tsushima. I'm close to end the main narrative. Try to get the remaining Assassin's Creed Rogue trophies (destroyed the Storm Fortress yesterday, hellish battle!!). Maybe more Nioh, really great game, addicting. The bosses are brutal, but the game forces you to adapt and find the best strategies. Let's see what more, there are others waiting.
I'm trying the first Dying Light game, so it will be that some Hitman 2, maybe GT7. I do need to find a new game that is really gripping.
Doing a Resident Evil binge with it being October. Managed to get S rank on hardcore last night on RE2, that was stressful!
@CrispyMango92 I really HATE difficult trophies in RPGs. Those games are so big anyway. I'm playing Ys 8 as well, still in chapter 2. Sad there is a difficult-related trophy, I was aiming for platinum.
@Starkei Astro's Playroom and Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut are great showcases. If you can spend the $$, Horizon Forbbiden West is a sure bet too!
@get2sammyb At first I thought the new artstyle for SF6 wasn't great. But after watching several gameplay videos I've changed my tune, it's fackin fantastic! Tekken better switch up artstyles a bit, that boring plastic look from the 90s is getting tiring.
I have finally caught a normal cold after several years, so I’m currently playing potion permit as it’s not too taxing on the old nogging.
Playing FF7R Yuffie DLC.
Finished The Ascent last night great game, loved every minute despite some difficulty spikes, am gong to try and mop the last couple of trophies for the plat and then maybe start Deliver Us The Moon as I have had it downloaded for a while now.
@Sakai definitely, it is bat sh*t crazy, I particular liked splitting your bike in half to grind monsters on the wheels It's bonkers in a good way and runs so well on PS5 too! Enjoy.
@UltimateOtaku91 Nice advice. It sounds like a proof of concept title tbh. Maybe they'll perfect it if they do a sequel.
I'll leave it on my wishlist for now though.
Thanks!
Finishing up The Last of Us Part 1 and then off to Hyrule for the first time with Breath of the Wild on my Switch.
Still making my way through Dark Souls III again. Getting my arse kicked, so I'm planning to take my frustrations out on the Nazis by starting Sniper Elite 5.
Just re-installed Modern Warfare 2019 on my PS5. Going to be playing it until Modern Warfare 2 releases. Also, still making Playground tracks on Dirt 5
@Gremio108 Sniper Elite 5 is amazing. Played through it twice already
@TheArt It looks INCREDIBLE.
Currently playing AC Valhalla and my god what a snore fest. I'm guessing the writers fell ill with Covid and they got the local school's work experience pupils to fill in... how anyone rated this higher than 5 out of 10 beggars belief.
Slay the spire (which is just so good) , and mlb 22 the show.
@Eldritch Valhalla was such garbage to me as well.
Lucky that you got into the SF6 beta sammy , i had no idea it was even a thing because my heads been so far up OW2’s ass , i regret it ! 😂 well not really , but damn did you guys at least report on the beta before or what ?! and yeah , im blaming pushsquare instead
I finished Last of Us Part 1 a few nights ago. What an experience. First time beating the game.
Now that I'm finished with that, I want to wait on starting Part 2 so I decided to start playing OneShot. I've always wanted to play it.
Restarting Divinity: Original Sin 2 over and over again. I've not even left Fort Joy yet.
I finally started Cyberpunk 2077 and it’s one of the most immersive (and overwhelming) games I’ve ever played. Night City is a really fantastic setting, with bizarre characters and an underbelly worth exploring. The characters are memorable, and I love choosing optional dialogues to flesh out them out.
I also find the writing quite excellent. I know that some people have issues with it considering it’s an RPG and your choices should have genuine consequences and benefits, and the game doesn’t necessarily feature that ending wise, but that’s okay to me. I basically look at the game as a FPS with RPG elements, and character development with the dialogue choices. I don’t need my actions to affect the overall game, so long as I build relationships with the people I spend time with. I don’t look at this game as a Fallout experience. If you approach the game from that perspective I think it becomes an overall better experience.
Street Fighter 6 beta. I'm putting all my gaming time into it. I can't get enough, it's so much fun to play. The Battlehub is great. The only bad part is the fact that the beta will end on the 10th lol.
Yakuza 0. Absolutely fantastic game so far. Love everything about it and can't wait to get further in
Started on AC: Black Flag this week My first Assassin's Creed game ever!
Valkyrie Elysium - PS5 (new combos made her such a badass 😊)
Trails from Zero - SteamDeck
F1 - PC/SteamDeck (Japanese GP Weekend 🏁)
I would have played SF6 but Capcom don't love me. 😢
That's okay though I still got Trails from Zero to keep me happy!
Valkyrie Elysium all weekend for me. I was working toward the platinum in Steelrising but ran out of steam.
I may also continue on in Toem when I want to relax, take photos, and explore the towns.
Lastly, some love for my Switch with Tria gel Strategy, and Series S with Weird West or Moonscars
Currently addicted to Disney's Dreamlight Valley, while replaying through Sly 2 via The Sly Cooper Trilogy on PS3. Might go back and play InFAMOUS on PS3 once I'm done with Sly 2.
Easy. OverWatch 2.
Definitely not the Street Fighter 6 Beta since I didn’t get a code 😞. Back to Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Star Ocean 1, 4 and 5 in preparation for SO6. I also downloaded a few "free" games like the Guardians of the Galaxy game that I thought looked awful but is actually really very good. Valkyrie Elysium too. I also got back into Elden Ring. This is what being off work does to me; too many games and massive amounts of control confusion as I switch between them.
@GoodGame Me and a mate have played the past few in co-op and they're always great for a laugh. Fully expecting a good time with this one as well!
@Mostik it's just a glorious game. The nunchucks with the sound effects and particle effects are my favourite, but everything is awesome.
PS5
Resident Evil 3 Remake
Just started the first hour and its as slick and polished as i could imagine. Never played the original (although have played 1, 2 & 4 multiple times), so its awesome to finally see what went down in this entry.
Switch
Diablo 3
Still grinding this one out here and there. Had to up the difficulty cause it gets easy after a couple of level ups. Fun, brainless gameplay...thats about it.
Quest 2
Lies Beneath
What a kick ass game! Incrediable artstyle, intresting plot, creepy atmosphere, and juicy gameplay. This title is way too overlooked...maybe a PSVR2 port would amend that?
Spending some time on gamepass playing Moonscars and Firewatch.
Firewatch has been a really pleasant surprise, it has really had me gripped. With Moonscars I love the artstyle but can't seem to gel with it.
Castlevania SotN (Xbox Series X) Doing my yearly playthrough of this great game and just in time for Halloween too!
TMNT III Radical Rescue (Switch) I never played this game before getting the Collection. It's a pretty good take on the Metroidvania formula.
Overwatch 2 (Xbox Series X) Been a few years since I played Overwatch and with the release of 2 it sounded like a good time to jump back in and of course it hooked me all over again.
Broken Sword 5.
Re7 on madhouse it's really difficult lol
@ThorsHammer I've just finished re3 remake on inferno difficulty got all the way to the final boss & then couldn't do it (it's just straight up unfair lol)
@Would_you_kindly nice work, im just on normal, how did you think it stacks up against the recent titles? I keep hearing its not as strong in comparison, but im enjoying so far.
@LordFlamingo from what I’ve heard it gets easier after the first boss, but I, too, was struggling to gel with it.
@Tasuki i finished SotN a couple months ago for the first time on PS4 and it was incrediable. I know thats preaching to choir, but i was worried it would be dated, plus i prefer Metroidvanias on handheld...wasnt disappointed in the least and was literally hooked from begining to end.
@ThorsHammer I really like it the original is my favourite resident evil so I'm biased I was abit disappointed at the length & that it cut some of the stuff from the original game but it's still a great game & with multiple raplays I definitely got my money's worth
Capcom does love me. I’m playing Street Fighter 6.
Maybe a few matches of Overwatch 2 and Splatoon 3 as well.
I'm still playing and enjoying The Diofield Chronicle, story is taking some turns. Hoping to platinum it and Salt and Sacrifice before Ragnorok.
Luckily, the Overwatch 2 servers are seeming better, so my wife and I want to get some of our nighttime hours in on that. After a couple nights mostly wasted waiting on broken servers. 😑
Just finished Ghostwire Tokyo this weekend and I love it.
Im feeling sporty this weekend... So fifa 23 and gt7
Another weekend of two 12 hour work days. I doubt I'll play anything.
I’m in mourning. I’m a long term Overwatch addict. Mostly an off tank player. Not only does OW2 basically negate the nuanced tactics which made the original game so different, it has also essentially rendered off tanks unplayable. Sadly … I see this as the death of a game I probably won’t know what to do without…
First time posting. Love my PS5 and most of Sony 1st party games. Just got Horizon Forbidden West so I'll be playing that and watching the MLB playoffs.
Dug out the PSVR, but as usual, forgot to charge everything the day before, so I'm nearly finished waiting on that. No Man's Sky, Moss (heard a ton of good things about) and Concrete Genie up first. If I can get through all that without ill effects (literally), Star Trek Bridge Commander and Paper Beast after. Hope it's fun!
@freddquadros Agreed. Back in the day, I was going for the Mass Effect 2 platinum. Only needed to beat the game on the hardest difficulty but there was one part I was stuck on for ages. Couldn’t get passed it so I gave up on it. Missing the plat because of that one trophy still hurts me to this day. I don’t go for difficulty trophies anymore unless I really like the game and the gameplay is more slow paced rather than twitchy.
@Voltan with you on that one, nice quick Burt’s of it is enjoyable.
@ThorsHammer they cut alot of stuff from the original out of the remake so yea you won’t get the entire RE3 experience unfortunately.
I too sadly did not get into the SF6 beta It has been a joy diving into Overwatch 2 however. I started playing last night and haven't hit any server issues so far. I played the original on PC and it's kind of strange playing the new one on a console. However, it feels surprisingly familiar and quite nostalgic playing again for the first time in years. Will continue to dip in and out of this for a while (only Deathmatch FFA I suspect).
Besides that I've really been jumping around a lot. With so many good games in the first half of the year I've found it trickier to stick with anything lately. Soul Hackers 2 is a very good, "good" game. Taking my time but will finish it. TLOU Part 1 didn't grab me after about 7 hours or so. Will be a while until I go back. Trails From Zero is great but feels like it needs my full dedication. And finally, I picked up Sophie 2.
@Littlebigmatador Welcome dude, awesome game, looks great too, I found it was a proper time sink, those side quests just keep drawing you in
@sorteddan @RaZieLDaNtE @freddquadros thanks for the Astro's recommendations. It's a lot of fun!
@JudgeDredd I don't play Ubisoft games so the "tower" world map design doesn't bother me.
Feel like I’ve been Platinuming everything under the sun of late with Tinykin, We Are OFK!, The Last of Us Part One, Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed, Sam and Max Series One and Two, Fuser and Paradise Killer to name but a few so I’ll probably step back and catch up with some movies alongside celebrating Halloween with replays of Man of Medan and Little Hope on PS5 followed by House of Ashes and a much delayed Platinum for The Quarry.
Also want to head back to both Returnal and Deathloop to play the Tower of Acsension and Golden Loop updates respectively and maybe just maybe finally get round to fully completing Cyberpunk 2077 almost TWO YEARS after it first released!
On which note I have to say that though it pains me to do so I can’t help but feel that considering we’re now nearly two years into the PS5 era and have been treated to such gems as Returnal, Deathloop and Ratchet and Clank alongside native upgraded versions of Cyberpunk 2077, Horizon Forbidden West, The Last of Us Part One, Death Stranding and more I’ve yet to have my mind blown, my jaw dropped or, indeed, my flabber righteously gasted by any of the aforementioned titles save maybe Returnal and still await another title to leave me smiling over its creative use of haptics like good old Astrobot …
… other than that I have but three words to utter.
Bring On Ragnarok!
Xenoblade Chronicles 3, I'm 80hrs in and I swear this game is trying to completely dehydrate my body with a constant emotional barrage...
This weekend I finally got around to finishing the Iki Island DLC for Ghost of Tsushima. It took me way to long to get to it. But it was very good! Now back to working my way through Ollie Ollie World, such a fun pick up and play game for short sessions. On Series X I’m working my way through Forza Horizon 3. As of now i like it much better than 4 and 5. Have a great weekend!
@CrispyMango92 I got ME2 plat at the time because I had muche less games to play in the PS3 era. I wasn't a Plus subscriber, I earned less money than today too. But I don't have the time and patience to replay a huge game for 1 trophy, and suffering with the ultra-dificulty. I really wanted The Witcher 3 and Dragon Age Inquisition plats, but replay a 100h+ game just for this isn't much worthy these days for me.
@freddquadros I was 20 at the time so I had like no money and not many games either. But I had way more time on my hands that I’ll never get again so I was playing anything. Probably had plus at the time because I remember playing games on plus just for the trophies. But yeah, I don’t have patience when it comes to long games anymore. I was playing Ys 8 on normal and like 30 hours in I dropped it to easy because i wanted to finish it within a reasonable timeframe. Still took me 52 hours but I did all the side content. But yeah, I use my PS5 maybe like 3-4 times a month these days. My work hours are all over the place so I’m always too tired to focus on playing so I mainly watch tv when I’m home. Only reason I’m actually trying to play games now is because I have Plus Extra and I know games are eventually gonna be taken off it so I wanna finish the games that are there that I wanna play before I lose access to them. Unfortunately, the ones I’m most interested in are super long (Ys, Yakuza) so that’s gonna be a problem
