A partial heatwave and the return of Premier League football should make for a big weekend here in the UK — but that certainly won't stop us from squeezing in some quality gaming sessions.
Aaron Bayne
This weekend I’m heading to the Lands Between for a solid session on Elden Ring with some friends. Editing through our recent Lords of the Fallen preview put me in the mood for some Souls action.
Liam Croft
Having finally finished Final Fantasy XVI, I’m just mopping up some Trophies here and there. I don’t want to start anything new because review season gets underway for me again on Monday.
Robert Ramsey
After a bit of a break, I'm back in the land of reviews this weekend. Sadly, I can't say much more, but know that I'll (hopefully) be having fun.
Stephen Tailby
As much as I'd like to continue playing Rogue Legacy 2, I'm back on review duties again. I've a pair of indie games to tackle, both releasing later this month, so they'll be getting my full attention this weekend.
That's what we're playing this weekend, but what about you? Will you be too busy watching the footie, or do you have some gaming locked and loaded? As always, let us know in the comments section below.

I am continuing with DooM Eternal on the Switch. Currently I am in the Super Gore Nest.
On the PS4 I am progressing trough Super Castlevania 4. Currently on Level 7.
Happy gaming everyone!
On the road, but brought my Switch. Playing 1989 Tetris through Switch Online and a hidden object puzzle adventure called Noir Chronicles: City of Crime
Enjoy your weekend everybody!
I’m almost finished with Final Fantasy 7 Remake. I’m in the middle of chapter 17. I will then make time for Street Fighter 6 and WWE 2K23.

Having fun on Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, chillin' out on PGA2K23 and cheering on the Lionesses against Colombia.
Also, the Prem is back!
I finished Scarlet Nexus earlier in the week (What a game!) and then finally got around to Miles Morales and finished it in two and a half sittings, really enjoyed it and now i am ready for SM2!
This weekend I think I might catch up on Honkai Star Rail and Genshin. I'm also eyeing up Gravity Rush 2.
If I'm honest with myself though I'm killing time until Baldur's Gate 3 hits PS5 and Starfield hits early access.
Beat Catherine Full Body and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening on the Switch the past week.
I’m currently playing DC SuperHero Girls: Teen Power and I’m meaning to play Ghost Trick next.
I’m also finally back from vacation to France so I’m planning on playing Herc’s adventure on Ps5 and A Short Hike on Xbox Series X
Also will finish up Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 before the next season in 2 weeks.
Only 1 game on my playlist and it's the utterly brilliant Baldurs Gate 3 on Steam Deck ( it runs superbly on it ) truly one of many GOTY contenders this year. It's a hardcore, superb RPG ....oh and its fricking hhaaaarrrrdddd in places - damn those Intellect Devourers gggrrrr
I'm looking forward to getting this on PS5 too ....its THAT good
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
Finished Resident Evil 6 on PS4 yesterday and now I'll be focusing on finishing ModNation Racers: Road Trip on Vita. I'll also be playing Ori and the Will of the Wisps on Series X. Might start up a new game when I've finished ModNation, but I haven't decided which one yet!
I just started some days ago the devil may cry saga.
Never played It before.
I already beat dmc1 and 2, so this weekend its dmc3 time!
Currently at 86% completion of Final Fantasy XVI and absolutely loving it. It's a bit of a mess of a game, but I just love playing it and am having an absolute blast. The eikon battles are also some of the most insane things I've ever played in a video game - can't wait to see what else the game has in store for me!
I'm going for the last few trophies on PGA Tour 2k23 then picking up more socks on Arcade Paradise... Probably spend a lot of time watching Prem footie games as well.
Have a good weekend and successful gaming endeavours all.
Still on hols in beautiful Portugal and, with only my laptop for gaming, Football Manager is the ideal follow-up to the start of the Prem and the first of City's many wins last night.
Outriders & FFX.
While I watch a whole lot of football ⚽️! Bring on the new season.
Dragon Quest Builders 2 and Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel.
I also watched a bit of Evo last week and picked up Street Fighter 6 on Steam Deck. It’s great, the solo mode reminds me of Yakuza. I also showed my son a bit of Dragon Ball FighterZ this morning.
"Aliens: Infestation" on the DS. It's essentially "Metroid" crossed with "Contra" but set in the "Alien" universe. Bloody brilliant.
I ended up getting into the spirit of QuakeCon and I picked up Quake for ps5 and Quake 2 for ps5. Such good boomer shooters.
Also ended up picking up the original Dying Light with all the groceries for 10 bucks. Playing that rn and it’s silky smooth
Still playing through Final Fantasy XVI which I thought I was at the end of last weekend, however still going strong and doing some more hunts. Now I'm pretty sure I AM at the end.
Also started Dodgeball Academia which I'm enjoying a lot more than I thought I would!
On.Switch I'm playing Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom AGAIN.Currently at the Fire Temple.
I got sucked into returnal. I'm past the first 10 hours of needlessly (and frustatingly) dying to everything and I think I'm finally getting the hang of it.
I still hate it for being a roguelike, but everything else about the game is just soooo good.
I think everybody knows but just in case its diablo 4. Starting another hardcore character seeing as discussing the butcher in an earlier article gave the goddess of karma a poke in the brown eye and the butcher promptley showed up and ripped me a new one..back to the start then 😭. Have a great weekend everybody 👍
On PS5 I'm trying to get the last 2 trophies on Rift apart missed one of the blizon crystals my first playthrough also waiting on Dying Light 2 arriving. On Xbox I've been replaying all the old Gears games wishing they'd remaster 2 and 3 like they did the first game.
Yesterday I started The Witcher 3, and ye gods the leveling is slow. I wondered why I was getting my arse kicked so much until I realised I was still level 1 and I was fighting groups of level 5+ enemies
@PenguinLtd maybe give it a little more time but I don’t think you’ll like it if you still don’t after 3 hours, unfortunately.
Diablo 2 and Vagrant Story for me!
Probably replaying Ratchet & Clank (2016) for the 4th or 5th time and aiming for the Platinum this time around which I never bothered to get. I don't know what happened to me over the last few years but nowadays, I'd rather replay a game I know I love instead of trying something new for the sake of it. Probaby because I got burnt too many times with games I didn't end up enjoying as much.
@theheadofabroom read notice boards. Do contracts around your level, then do main quests. It's the way of the Witcher to look for work at any given moment, regardless of any driving forces to do other stuff. Plus the side content is as good if not better than main content anyway.
I've never had a problem with slow levelling, so this is the only advice I can give, hopefully that means you get more out of the game 😄
Also, if enemies are avoidable, you can avoid them if under levelled, unless you're like me and seek punishment and a challenge at times 😆
I've been mostly on Steam Deck this week. Getting close to the end of Trails in the Sky FC. What a great game. I've play around 10 hours of SC on Vita already, so I'll need to decide whether to pick up that save or start again on the Deck (which has the advantage of higher resolution, fast forward button etc).
I've been playing a little bit of Remnant 2 on Series X. Just got to the first work. Enjoyed what I've played so far. The first boss was great and did give me some Soulslike vibes. Also downloaded an played a bit of Quake 2.
PS5 and Switch getting a bit of a rest this last week, which is quite unusual! Will get back to Diablo 4 on PS5 at some point but Armored Core 6 is probably next up on that console.
@Northern_munkey I'm going to give this a go for the trophy at some point, but it's definitely The Butcher that has me pausing that idea!
While mainly waiting for the big games to start dropping in september I’ve decided to wait with FF XVI and play some shorter games. So in the sale I picked up
Deliver us Mars - been on my to play list a while. Enjoyed the first game but I like this one even more. About half way in its a great story and I can oversee some minor technical issues and jankiness.
Still on Tears of the Kingdom.
I'm craving something for my PS5 too though.
Baldur's Gate and MythForce will be next.
Playing Elden Ring, finally beat tree sentinel.. After leveling-up 4-5 times, got torrent, got ash of war (lone wolf ashes), and 1+ hours fighting him again and again. This game is wiiild lol, how the heck the first true boss of the game is harder than the friggin super hard secret boss in god of war 2018 (queen valkyrie) 🤣
Now I'm afraid to face the second boss beyond gatefront lol, so I just playing around limgrave leveling-up and clearing dungeons. I think I'm not too bad at the game now, with my samurai dex build I can defeat the big bear 4 out of 5 times (the big one that punch the tree), and I kill the giant in the beach the first time I meet him (the one that's not chained like other giant in roads). I think I'll explore limgrave some more before tackling the second boss.
I think this game raise the standard of open world games and battle system, about 8 hours playing and I already think this is one of my favs games ever.
Im playing the amazing ni no kuni wrath of the white witch remastered.the fantastic scarlet nexus with all the dlcs.the wonderful persona 5 royal.the excellent the legend of heroes trial of cold steel.and the incredible octopath traveler 2.i will be watching legendary sitcoms tv 📺 comedy in Sanford and son.good times and saved by the bell.word is bond.word to god.word life.word to your mother.word up son
I’ve gone back into my Lego backlog and settled on Lego Marvel superheroes 2 after living the first one. I need some smaller less brain intensive games to get me in the mood for Baldurs gate.
@wiiware The nice thing about Elden Ring is that it doesn't get progressively harder like some games. It's all about the skills you develop and really "getting" the mechanics. I'd argue Margit is one of the hardest bosses in the entire game at that early stage. It's always nice seeing people getting into the games and enjoying them for what they are instead of whining about how hard they are and how they have no spoon-fed story. Have you played any of the other From Software games in the genre?
After getting Iceborne, finding it hard to play anything else, it's more and more Monster Hunter. Just love the gear and the game's deepness.
@wiiware Elden Ring is fantastic! Hard to put From Software games down in general.
@playstation1995 ....that's too many long, life sapping RPGs on the go at once, dude 🤣🤣
Zombieland remastered for the arcade kick, in between longer play sessions of Pillars of eternity 2 about to start it.
Started Marvel's Guardians of The Galaxy this week and, oh boy, what a great game!! Fun, beautiful, atmospheric, and it really get the characters well.
I will finally start Assassin's Creed Valhalla too, what a journey it was, playing all AC games (minus AC1 for now), up to this point. This series became on of my favorite gaming franchises ever, love the lore, the gameplay (in all forms), the care with the historical settings. I will play all AC games!!!
About a 3rd game, It will depends of the moment. I'm finishing the business sidequests of Yakuza 0 (another franchise I will dive into), and playing the great Hogwarts Legacy.
In ths golden age of gaming, so many games, so little time...
I'm finishing off some trophies Double Dragon, it's OK, no TMNT or SoR4 but fun enough for £20.
I will also be playing The Legend of Silkroad and Dragon Master on the new Evercade cartridge (Piko Aracade 1) - should be fun!
Plus lot's of Premier League football
Happy gaming folks!
Finished FF16! What a game. Might be my top this year. We shall see. Need to finish up the last few main quests of TOTK as I keep delaying it. But after 75 hours I think I’ll be done.
Otherwise after months finally new games. Remnant 2, Gal Guardians Demon Purge and others await!
Real close on finishing my first playthru on Final Fantasy XVI, so will hopefully find a few hours here or there to finish it off… before starting Final Fantasy mode.
@wiiware that’s awesome you took down Tree Sentinel! He’s hinted to be optional since you can kind of blow right past him, but kudos to sticking with it. You’re in for an unforgettable journey!
@Olmaz As a fan of the franchise I can say, this game is a treasure trove for us!! The care for lore details is astounding, and the joy of exploring Hogwarts, and the expanded region (that part I think they created, and it fits), the gameplay, everything breath Harry Potter. And I really recomend the books after it. I read all of them 3 times in my lifetime. They are that good.
It's time for the original Resident Evil 4 so I can get to the remake later on.
Playing through Xenoblade Chronicles 3 on Switch.12 hours in and really enjoying it so far.
@dBackLash Just remember there is no needlessly dying in Returnal. Even if you don’t unlock any perks (most of the times you will without noticing, like permanently upgrading weapons) you still get to know the environments and enemies better. You’ll benefit from this later on.
Enjoy, it’s such a fantastic game!
Life is Strange 2
Wanted a nice palette cleanser after spending 80+ hours on Final Fantasy XVI. I'm roughly halfway through the game so far after starting Episode 3 last night and I'm enjoying it. It will probably end up being my least favorite of the series, but considering the series has unexpectedly become one of my favorites, that's not necessarily a bad thing at all.
Continuing with Final Fantasy XVI. I’m at 75% now and want to finish it this month so I can start with Starfield on day one.
On PS5 giving Soulstice a try, ok so far.
Also Quake 2 (£8 for a decent remaster with all expansions, a new set and a re-done Quake 2 64 is a bargain in my opinion)
Hopefully will finish illusion island on switch. That's one fun gorgeous platformer
Wo Long Fallen Dynasty. Loving the focus on parries, however the battle flag system makes some bosses easy
Been reading a lot of Sarah Alderson books atm but when I want a break I'll be playing Judgement a bit more I think.
Quake 2 (already finished the main campaign and the awesome new Machine Games campaign) and most likely some Remnant 2 and World War Z.
More of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, it's been excellent so far. Also might be able to finish off Hogwarts Legacy. I've finished the main story, so I'll just do any interesting looking side quests, then that'll probably be it for me.
I’d like to finish Venba. I started it on Monday and just… haven’t played anything since then. Outside that, I dunno. I’d like to play something, but I’m in this weird lull right now where I’m not actually playing anything in specific and sort of feel like I’m just waiting for Starfield right now or Baldur’s Gate 3 on PS5.
Just got the Platinum for Rift Apart (surprised how short it is) so I will be playing some Quake 2 campaign this weekend
Tales of Arise.
Never played one before, but reviewed well, got it for about £12 or £13 in the sale.
Only played about an hour briefly.
That'll while away the hours.
Still need to finish Dead Space, Resident Evil 4, and Elden Ring… in preparation for…
🔥🔥🔥ARMORED CORE🔥🔥🔥
I am on the way through Plague Tale Requiem. Very good game
Played a slice of Venba last night and really enjoyed it. I'm not someone who gets emotional at any fiction in any media but God damn this game hit me in the feels! At the lightning temple in totk as my last regional phenomenon and its still so good. I'm hoping to get some ori and the will of the wisps in too. So many great games, not nearly enough time. Have a great weekend folks
Tekken 7. Playing ranked matches. Have a great weekend folks 😄🤘
Welp Final Fantasy XVI is finished after 85 hrs. What a ride!! So I'm going back to Octopath Traveler 2. Got a long weekend so I'll get some movies and shows in aswell, want to watch Gotham By Gaslight with the Misses. Happy Gaming everybody!🙌🏾
@Skywalker1080p Tales of Arise was personal GOTY in 2021 it's really great. Enjoy! 😃
Kirby and the Forgotten Land - a nice bit of polished fun.
Yoshi (3DS) - Been hankering to replay this for awhile.
Forza Street (Android) - Can't seem to get the offline workaround running for this.
Imperia Online (Windows Phone) - At the final mission now
@R1spam Try Blind Forest forst. I loved both games but i liked the first one more
@dschons I played bloodborne, sekiro, and demon souls ps5, all are good game but I'm not a fan (besides ds ps5). I only play ds ps5 for about 2 hours so I didn't know whether the game has the same problem as sekiro (I don't like the game get harder if you died) or bloodborne (needed way more savepoint) or not. I can't imagine playing their old games after elden ring though (besides ds ps5), this is the future of (souls like) fromsoft games I think.
What I love about elden ring is, it didn't waste my time, it's hard yes, but unlike other fromsoft games there's nearly always grace / stake of marika near important place. Yeah the tree sentinel beat my ass for 1+ hours straight (lol), but I only need a couple of second to challenge him again.
@TheArt True, I can't stop thinking about the game, even when I'm not playing it
@ErrantRob Even when I already leveling-up and got weapon upgrade, not to mention wolf summon, he still really hard. I though he's not this hard when I watch youtuber asmongold beating him without horse and level-up lol.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. The missus is at a wedding so I've got the kids, but when I get chance I'll be back to final fantasy 16. Also Zelda TOTK has finally clicked for me and I'm absolutely loving it. So be playing that while watching the footy
Table top D&D this Saturday. Sunday - work.
Also - impatiently waiting for Baldur’s Gate 3 to release on PS5.
This weekend I’m keeping my gaming pretty light due to work obligations. That said - I’m working my way through Uncharted: Golden Abyss for the first time on the PlayStation Vita. I have the Platinum trophies for Uncharted 1-4, but never got the chance to play this game.
I have to say - I find this game quite remarkable. For starters, the pacing is top notch. Secondly, I’m surprised by how well the controls are, and how the touchscreen isn’t mandatory for the basics - jumping, shooting, and so forth.
Overall, it’s nice to jump back into this universe, particularly when Nolan North is at the helm. Nathan Drake is such a great character. And most importantly, it still feels like an Uncharted game, with its quirky dialog and humor, despite being developed by another studio (Bend).
I’m hoping this game, along with multiple play throughs to get the platinum trophy, will hold me over until Sea of Stars comes out in a couple of weeks.
Still plowing through Final Fantasy XVI. Hope to finish it before Starfield launches in September.
Slowly making my way through Octopath Traveler 2 still. I think I have the main party I want to keep around for most of the game now
And more MH Rise Sunbreak too. I just love the gameplay loop of fighting old but stronger and updated monsters and getting new armor from them then unlocking a new subspecies or monster to fight next. It's addictive
Wanted to finish Fallen Order but unfortunately no gaming this weekend. My Father-In-Law passed away last night and my wife and kids are inconsolable. They were all very close to him. 😔
The Callisto Protocol on Series X for me.
I am playing Journey to the Savage Planet, which is simple, straightforward fun. I like games that encourage exploration for secrets, so this game scratches that particular itch.
Honestly: I am just messing around in the ol’ backlog until it is time to play Starfield and Spider-Man 2. Fall is going to be amazing for gaming!
I popped the platinum on Remnant 2 last night but that’s not slowing me down with that incredible game. After 117 hours with it, I’m still finding new dungeons, secrets, rings, weapons and amulets. It’s crazy how much the devs have packed into that game! I’m also splitting time between that and the original as I never completed the trophies for survival mode in REMNANT: From The Ashes.
Going to try to make significant progress in Final Fantasy XVI. May throw another random game or two in the mix as well, but main focus is FF.
Gran Turismo 7 in VR, Hogwarts Legacy and the EA Sports FC 24 Beta.
Diablo 4 Season 1 still enjoying the game!
It's Splatfest weekend in Splatoon so I'll be playing a bit of that
But when I'm not splatting it up, I keep dabbling a little bit into the Quake 2 Remaster and I may even finish up Pikmin 4
@Ravix I think I'm just falling into the open world habit of "do all the things you can before continuing the main quest, in case any of it disappears"
I'm currently on holiday, but when I'm back- The Last of Us Part 1 and Baldur's Gate on PC. Waiting for Starfield to hit PC Game Pass.
@KingPev. Haha.yes im having fun with all those jrpgs playa.haha.word up son
@Darth_Stofi may need to try it again now has 60fps mode
@wiiware Damn man I think you need to give Bloodborne a chance, it's uniquely special! The whole theme, art, nothing like it.
@theheadofabroom ah, that shouldn't be too bad then. I assume you're in White Orchard if at low level? There will come a point where it's definitely worth targeting stuff within say 5 levels of you, so mostly stuff within 2 levels up or down, as there is so much content, and it's easy to get OP quite rapidly. But if there is lower levelled stuff get it done if you want the xp for it, if not, the stories make it worth doing even at a time when you are outlevelling it.
I believe for me, every time I've played, I get to the stage where there is a certain level 7 quest, and I always end up doing so much other stuff, because of taking a more logical route and following threads i've already started, that I'm always OP when it feels like the right time to do it.
Overall there is no need to necessarily finish everything as soon as you get it though, and level on the whole is tailored pretty well to steer you in the right direction. If you see something 10 levels above, that's a good hint it won't be something that vanishes off the map. And not much actually does, to be fair.
This weekend as well as all this last week has been spent on Jedi Survivor. I think it might be my favorite Star Wars game since I played Knights of the Old Republic on the OG Xbox. And it’s definitely my favorite game I’ve played this year. Have a great weekend!!
Diablo 4. My Necro has had some close calls since going into torment difficulty on hardcore mode and needs gear upgrades pretty much all around. Having a lot of fun with it 🙂 Also really want to start Death's Door from ps plus. Was on my wishlist, so I'm thrilled to have it for free. Hope you folks have a lovely weekend 🤘
@AhmadSumadi sorry for your loss. Hope you're all ok
@dschons I get that. Certain games are better to replay than others though. Hard to beat a good 3D platform game in my eyes
Horizon western journey: burning shores
Away from home again this weekend. PS5 taking a break after FFXVI
1. F1 2023 (SteamDeck)
2. Monochrome: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten (SteamDeck)
3. Chorus (SteamDeck)
Well I missed last weeks entry of this due to being on vacation but man what a vacation it was. Absolutely excellent and in terms of games I basically played almost all of Ghost Trick and played all of Shredders Revenge. Gotta admit Kate is right Ghost Trick is really good. And EVO last weekend? Just reminds me why I love fighting games so much. Excellent announcements and matches all around man. As for this weekend tho. Well starting with Friday I saw the new TMNT movie and played some Splatoon 3 for the new Splatfest. Team Money baby. Got a couple hours into that which is really all I ever wanna do for Splatfests. I imagine if Splatoon was the only game I owned I would play more but when I got other single player things I wanna do it just kinda slips away ya know? But my vacation wraps up Monday as in going back to work Tuesday and for once I have a genuine game plan like a football coach hahaha. For Saturday we got some Pikmin 4 and Final Fantasy XVI. Sunday is Tears of the Kingdom and Tower of Fantasy. And Monday to finish off the most excellent of vacations will be Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed and King Of Fighters XV to test out the new character NAJD. And probably some time next week I’ll finish up ghost trick as I think I’m pretty close to the end of it. As for the anime this weekend also pretty simple. My Tiny Senpai, Atelier Ryza, Zom 100, Liar Liar, Ayaka, Tenpuru, Yohane The Parhelion and Bungo Stray Dogs. That last one especially is just one of the greatest shows I’ve ever seen I’m absolutely in love with it. And finally as for podcasts I think I’ll chill with some absolutely stellar Into The Aether and check out this new podcast everyone’s recommending Remap Radio. Have a excellent weekend and Happy Gaming to all.
@rusty82 My memory being trash also helps a lot, lol. I replayed the Resistance trilogy a couple of months ago and apart from what they looked like and maybe one or two setspieces, I did not remember a goddamn thing about them.
@dschons I wish I had that issue as I genuinely remember too much lol.
Good choice of a series to replay though, loved the resistance series. Especially 3. I'd love to see it rebooted
Mostly Pikmin 4 but I’ll try to squeeze in some Final Fantasy XVI if I can.
Elden Ring and DMC5.
PS5 - Quake 2
Switch - (Drunk) Yacht Dice (51 Worldwide Games)
Trying to play divinity original sin 2 to get an idea of whether I’ll like Baldurs gate 3. So far I have no idea what I’m doing or how anything works… I want to like this game.
@Kidfried I know what you are trying to do and I won't bite into it.
Hope you have a nice week end.
Dysmantle. Surprisingly fun and addictive. Title sequence alone was a delight. Whacking and breaking everything is such a breath of fresh air.
@Darth_Stofi I played it, its great though one of the escape sequences kicked my ass! Have been digging the combat in the sequel
Just finished Bramble and A Short Hike on game pass, both well worth a look.
Finally getting to Scarlet Nexus on PS5, which deserves a proper playthrough.
I feel like Im 'treading water' just waiting for BG3 or Starfield
I’m actually missing the PS5 at the moment because I’m still playing TotK. Finally clicked with it after upgrading all my abilities. The game worlds are awesome, but that UI was developed by the Marquee De Sade himself. Have a good weekend folks!
Nothing as outside is my home this w'end, and then I shall be watching the mighty red devils on Monday night football:)
@Ravix I was, I went on to the main quest-line and then next mission gave me 2 levels, which was then enough to easily clear the region's side content, just met Emyr so I'm guessing I'll have to do a bit in the next region before I clear the side content there too
@theheadofabroom oh, when it opens out all you can really do is take it all in, and get a feel for the pacing yourself, and keep advancing the story as well. There's a lot of story/side crossover, plus contracts, and question marks etc, and there is absolutely no way you can just clear Velen in one big go, just through natural exploration and advancing the story. I recommend forgetting clearing maps at this point, and to just do what seems right at the time. There's hundreds of hours of content, and lots of different stopping points, where you can do relative side quests and contracts when you reach the right level for them.
And even if you happen to leave an area, it's perfectly normal in this game to revisit later in the story and find things still available 😄
God I want to pick up and carry on my latest playthrough since the PS5 update, but I must focus and finish newer games I've bought first 😆
Ghost Recon Breakpoint. After 150hrs, I just found out how to master the classes, seems I missed a click on the skill tree, so spent 200 points in one go😂 Then i started back on the story missions, I do like sniping from afar though, without having to endure a cut scene.
Just started Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Fun so far! Always blows me away how gorgeous some PS4 games look on PS5 when they’ve been patched.
@Geep yeah DMC1 has been an impresive experience!!! Dmc2 a big dissapointment ... But so far loving DMC3 (mission 6)
I might be the slowest gamer ever 40 hours into BG3 and I just made it to the mountain pass.
@TheArt I played the game about 2-3 hours on ps4, died again and again wandering where the heck is the savepoint, after beating the boss the first time I meet him and found the savepoint, I finished playing the game. I want to have the memory of beating that boss the first time I fought him is the last memory of playing bloodborne, rather than replaying the game again and again before finding that cursed savepoint lol.
Bloodborne gameplay is great of course, whether its demon souls, dark souls (never played it but its basically demon souls), or bloodborne, fromsoft always have great gameplay for their games. I don't like sekiro though since its too reliance on parrying (I suck at parrying enemy attack lol).
The reason I love elden ring (compared to other fromsoft souls games) is the abudance of savepoint, I don't have problem replaying boss fight again and again, as long as there's savepoint nearby.
@wiiware After you've found the location of a boss, you can just sprint past those other enemies straight to the boss because you know your way, you don't have to repeat killing them over and over again. In the end it's mostly all about leveling up.
@TheArt I think elden ring has spoiled me of other fromsoft souls games, I like the open world too much. For example, rather than stuck fighting tree sentinel, I can level-up and upgrade my character freely while fighting other enemies/boss, while in their past games, I have to beat that one boss whether I like it or not if I want to continue the game.
I really think open world design and fromsoft souls game is the perfect match.
@wiiware Absolutely, I agree. I always emphasize Elden Ring's open world and freedom simply makes it the best From Software game period. But there's this unique charm about Bloodborne I feel you should try and keep playing.
@TheArt I'm actually more interested in demon souls ps5 remake, I played it (bought it physical) but sold it when I sold my ps5 back then. Now I have ps5 again, I think I'm gonna bought it digital when the game discounted on psn, after I beat elden ring of course. I played demon souls ps5 about 2-3 hours and I think it's easier than bloodborne lol.
I hope sony will remake bloodborne too, playing bloodborne with demon souls ps5 engine will be super sweet 😃
